If you say the name “Tootie,” everyone will quickly know you are talking about actress Kim Fields.  Kim Victoria Fields was born on May 12, 1969 in New York City.  She is most noted for playing the role of Tootie Ramsey on the Facts of Life and Regine Hunter on the hit sitcom Living Single.  She is listed as the first successful female child television star.

Her famous mother– Her mother is famous actress Chip Fields.  Over the years, Kim and Chip Fields appeared on television together playing mother and daughter. They also appeared on the same sitcom, Good Times.

Tootie– Kim Fields was only nine years old when she started playing the character Tootie on The Facts of Life although her character’s age was twelve.

Breast– Kim Fields had a breast reduction in 1994 and actually allowed the producers of Living Single to write the occurrence in an episode.

She used to date who?– Kim Fields once dated her Living Single co-star John Henton who played Overton.

She was arrested– Kim Fields was arrested in 1999 when she protested against the police shooting of an unarmed Black woman in Riverside California.

She’s a director/ producer– Kim Fields graduated from Pepperdine University in 1990 with a degree in Telecommunications. She went on to direct popular television shows such as All That!Kenan & Kel, Tyler Perry’s Meet the BrownsTyler Perry’s House of Payne,  BET’s Let’s Stay Together and The Rickey Smiley Show.

She’s a singer– Kim Fields released two singles in 1984 titled, “He Loves Me He Loves Not,” and “Dear Michael.” Both records did well.

She’s a Mommy at 44– Just recently, Kim Fields and her husband, fellow actor Christopher Morgan, welcomed their second child, a son Quincy Xavier Morgan. The couple has another son Sebastian who was born in 2007. Between the births of her sons, Kim suffered from two miscarriages.
