Dealing with someone’s family is akin to dealing with fire when you’re causing them harm.  And for one family of a kidnapped woman in Duson, La., the fire burned dead hot, engulfing the perpetrator.  While rescuing their family member, Bethany Arceneaux, the family delivered their own justice and kιlled Scott Thomas in the scuffle that ensued, as reported by Opposing Views.

On Wednesday, while in the car with her two-year-old son, Arceneaux , 29, was kidnapped from a child-care center parking lot.  Thomas, the father of her son, was the kidnapper.  The child was not hurt.

A tip was given to Arceneaux’s family leading them to a nearby abandoned house.  Authorities were slower than the family to respond.  Six of Arceneaux’s family members arrived at the location and kicked the door down.  They said they had no idea of what to expect.

To their relief, although bl00dy, Arceneaux was found alive.  Thomas on the other hand was not so relieved.  He and the family got into an altercation and he was fatally shot.

Arceneaux was stabbed by Thomas numerous times; but she is reportedly in stable condition at a local hospital.

Arceneaux’s brother, Ryan Arceneaux said “She’s shook up, she’s sliced up, but she’s alright.”   He along with brother, Kaylyn Alfred, were involved in their sister’s rescue.

Ryan continued, “We found her.  We went and got her in that house.  We kicked doors down.  It was like a movie unfolding.”

Arceneaux put out a protective order against Thomas back in June, as reported by USA TODAY.   In August, Thomas was arrested for his failure to obey the order.  He was also charged with aggravated assault and aggravated flight from an officer.

In her complaint to police, Arceneaux wrote, “He keeps threatening to kιll us.  He put a knife to my neck countless times.”

Police spokesperson Captain Kip Judice offered her thoughts on the matter to KATC.  “I can just imagine how chaotic that confrontation was,” she said.  “The person who acted in defense of Ms. Arceneaux is a relative, a close relative to her.  So I can imagine his emotions were probably high, and everyone’s levels were very escalated.”

According to Judice, the family seemed to be in line with protecting their beloved member, but an investigation is ongoing.   No one has been charged thus far.
