Is Kanye Marrying a Gold Digger? 11 Things You Might Not Know about Kim Kardashian

Kanye West just announced his undying love for Kim Kardashian, a woman with a mixed reputation at best.  So, we thought it would be good to dig a little into Kim’s life to let you decide what kind of person she is.  Here are a few things you may not know about Mrs. Kanye West-Kardashian, or Kardashian-West, or whatever they end up calling themselves after this is over.  But we do wish them the best.

1)      Kim is 33 years old and her full name is Kimberly Noel Kardashian.  Her net worth is $40 million dollars, so she may not be a gold digger after all.  But when someone gets that kind of money without any recognizable talent, it could be because they were digging that money up from other people.

2)      Kim has two previous marriages.  One was to Damon Thomas from 2000 – 2004.  The other was to Kris Humphries, from 2011 – 2013.

3)      Her mother’s estranged husband, Bruce Jenner, was the hero at the 1976 Olympics. Her father, the late Robert Kardashian, is the man responsible for freeing OJ Simpson and then trying to pretend like it never happened.

4)      Kim’s career began from two interesting sources:  Her close friendship with the equally talentless Paris Hilton, and a sexx tape she did with the singer Ray J.  Kim now makes her own money from reality shows (maybe disproving the gold digger hypothesis), but she didn’t start getting reality shows until she did her sexx tape.  So, which came first, the gold digging or the golden egg? You can decide on that one.

5)      Last year, Kim was named the highest paid celebrity on reality TV, hauling in $6 million from letting cameras follow her around to record her life.

6)      Kim divorced her last husband, Kris Humphries in 72 days.

7)      Kim attended Marymount High School, a Catholic all-girls school in Los Angeles.  We doubt that the nuns from the school would approve of the direction her life went after graduation.

8)      When Kim was 19-years old, she eloped with her first husband, music producer Damon Thomas.  The two divorced in 2003, with Kim claiming that he abused her emotionally and physically.  Kim was dating Ray J before the divorce was finalized.   When Ray J sent the sexx tape to Vivid Entertainment, Kim sued the company and settled for $5 million dollars.

9)      In December 2010, Kim released a song and music video called “Jam (Turn it Up).”  Kanye West made a cameo in the video.  The song was described by Jim Farber at the New York Daily News as a”dead-brained piece of generic dance music, without a single distinguishing feature.”  He also said that Kim was “the worst singer in the reality TV universe.”

10)   When Kim Kardashian married Kris Humphries in 2011, her former publicist said that the 72-day wedding was merely a publicity stunt designed to earn money.  Kim sued the publicist, claiming that he was lying.

11)   In 2012, a class action lawsuit was filed against Kardashian, her sisters and QuickTrim, a diet supplement they endorse.  The suit claims that the group engaged in false and deceptive marketing.
