“I’m Really Scared”: Zimmerman Punched Wife’s Father, Busted Her iPad and Grabbed Gun

George Zimmerman’s estranged wife says she is not going to press charges after her ex-husband threatened her and her father with a gun, according to police.  But the 911 call portrays a frightened woman dealing with an intimidating man who’d lost control of his temper and was threatening to kill someone that day.

“I’m really scared,” Shellie Zimmerman  said during the call, which took place Monday at 2 pm in Northeast Orlando.  The incident occurred right after Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting death of 17-year old Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed.

Police let Zimmerman go free after the incident.  Police Chief Steve Bracknell says that the woman and her father chose not to press charges against him.

During the time where police investigated what happened, Zimmerman had been placed in “investigative detention” until the matter could be resolved.   Zimmerman’s wife had just filed for divorce last week and each are saying that the other person started the fight.  Shellie says that during his fit of rage, Zimmerman smashed an iPad she was holding and cut it open.  He also allegedly punched her father in the nose and put his hand on his gun at the same time.

Strangely, Shellie later recanted her claim that a gun was involved in the situation.

“Domestic violence can’t be invoked because she has changed her story and says she didn’t see a firearm,” Bracknell said.

This is not the first time that Zimmerman has been involved with the law since his acquittal.  He has also been pulled over twice for speeding.
