After Lying to Police, NBA Player’s Girlfriend Says Her Boyfriend is the Cause of Her Black Eye

It’s hard to believe that with all the grace and finesse it takes to maneuver through defenders and place a rubber ball into a steel rim, sometimes at amazing distances, and in amazing positions, at the professional level that so many of the organization’s members would be putting their hands on their significant others.  It’s inexcusable.

The NBA’s constantly growing roster of athletes, responsible for allegedly committing domestic violence now includes player, Royce White, who famously did not play at all his rookie season with the Houston Rockets because of mental health issues.  White is now on front stage, as reported by TMZ, in a criminal investigation in Texas, for his role in the beating of his then-girlfriend, Tania Mehra.

Mehra, a Maxim model filed a police report on August 30 for an incident, which took place at a home owned by White in the Houston area, back in June of this year.

Law enforcement records reveal that someone called 911 on June 22, 2013, and reported a laceration above Mehra’s right eye.  According to officers, Maher claimed an “accidental fall,” caused the injury.

It was not until last week that Tania finally changed her story.  The model filed an incident report, claiming that what she had said covering the events on the night of the incident was all a lie.  She went on to say that the reality of the matter is Royce is to blame for her injury.

“The victim said she had lied earlier because the suspect played for the NBA and did not want the incident to damage his career,” police told TMZ.

They continued, “The victim stated that White had assaulted her after she became angered by his advances toward her friend.”

So far, there have been no charges filed against the 22-year-old NBA player, but authorities say the incident is “under investigation.”

TMZ also reports that sources connected to the investigation have informed the media outlet that Tania claims Royce also grabbed a candleholder and threw it in her direction during the altercation.  Though it did not hit her, it did smash into a mirror, causing it to shatter.

    I agree with you amazing grace. I’m going to take it a step further beating up on seniors or elders is insane. She better get help before it is too late.

    The young woman shouldn’t have lied/covered up for her boyfreind in the first place. This man clearly has serious anger issues that are out of control. If he doesn’t get help, he will definitely do this again. She needs to get away and stay away because the next time could be worse.
