As the 13th season of hit show, “American Idol,” approaches, producers are on edge after having lost three of the show’s last fourjennifer lopez judges, including Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Randy Jackson.  Keith Urban is the only remaining judge.

According to, Jennifer Lopez is closing a deal to return to the show for another season, while the third seat is still up in the air in terms of who will fill it.

“American Idol,” has brought some amazing talent that might not have otherwise been heard of to the forefront, stars like Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson.

Lopez, who participated as a judge on the show for Seasons 10 and 11, alongside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, had been rumored to be returning as soon as April.

New judges, Carey and Minaj, chose not to carry on with the show longer than one season, and series veteran Jackson, finally decided to call it quits after over a decade stint with the show.  Fox confirmed that Keith Urban, the fourth judge would be coming back.

The good press is receiving an open invitation from the Lopez after the singer received criticism for performing for a dictator.  J.Lo, 44, recently endured a wave of negative publicity after performing for the dictator of Turkmenistan, a man known for violating human rights in his country, as reported by Intouch Weekly.  Reportedly, the star made $12 million per season, while working on Idol.

Although there is no clear sign of who will take the third seat on the show,’s name is rumored to be on the table for discussion.  The former member of Grammy Award winning group, The Black Eyed Peas, did an impressive job hosting the British edition of the The Voice.  There was some talk of former finalists coming back to the show as judges, but Fox apparently decided to go with another plan.
