Mariah Carey Hospitalized after Being Injured During a Music Video

Mariah Carey isn’t an old woman, but she is no longer a spring chicken.  Some might say that a sign of her age could be the recent injury she sustained while shooting a music video.   Her shoulder was the only thing she injured during the video, so it looks like she’s going to be alright.  Carey was sent to the hospital for the injury, and was soon released. Her reps aren’t saying much, only reiterating that “she’s fine.”

Carey was in the process of shooting the video for her song #Beautiful, also done with the rapper Young Jeezy.   Her husband Nick Cannon is the director of the video.

Carey is going to perform with the New York Philharmonic on Central Park’s Great Lawn for the 2013 MLB All-Star Charity Concert. The concert is set to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Carey’s first release in 1990, called “Mariah Carey,” was put out under the guidance of her ex-husband, Tommy Mottola, who was also an executive in the music industry.  The album went platinum and had four straight number one singles on the Billboard 100 list.  This was the beginning of an extraordinary career that lasted for more than two decades.

The first marriage with Mottola didn’t go so well, but her current marriage with husband Nick Cannon appears to be a strong one.  The two have young twin daughters.
