Keyshia Cole’s NBA Husband Arrested for Assault and Battery at the Essence Music Festival
Keyshia Cole’s husband, NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson has confirmed that he turned himself in to police after getting into an altercation in New Orleans. The incident took place at the Essence Music Festival, where the player says that he defended his wife’s honor after someone made an inappropriate remark toward his wife.
“Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife,” he told TMZ.
He continued, “It’s unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved.”
Gibson says that once the facts are revealed about the fight, he will be vindicated. The 27-year old has been charged with assault and battery.
Gibson was drafted in the second round of the NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also graduated sixth out of 212 students in his high school, so he’s no dummy. But if he’s out getting into fights for no good reason, this might bring his common sense into question. Do men have to fight every time someone gets disrespected, or is there a better way to handle it? Nobody needs to die or go to jail.

I think that it is great that he defended his wife, but sometimes we have to think before we react to dumb people. We don’t have to be physical if the threat is not physical, speak your peace and walk away. Being in the spotlight people are going to talk about you all day everyday, but that is all it is TALK! Let them talk while you walk. Now when it is physical that will be a different story, IJS!!

None of us were there to witness the situation! While I agree you need to pick your battles, you sometimes need to defend your family’s honor! However since people can be such fools now days you need to step back sometimes!
