Usher Being Sued By Former Nanny For Unpaid Wages
Usher may be the star of the hit show, The Voice but to one nanny, he is no saint. Usher’s former nanny, Cecelia Dixon is suing the singer for unpaid wages. According to TMZ, the nanny said that she was overworked and underpaid by Usher, with her work hours often exceeding 40 hours a week. Dixon said that her working forty hours was not part of the deal, as she was hired as a part-time nanny back in 2010.
Dixon claimed to have expressed her concern and frustration to the singer, back in 2011 to no avail. Dixon claims that her complaints were ignored by Usher for over a year. Dixon was fired by the superstar in September, without being paid for the overtime that she accrued. Dixon is claiming wrongful termination and failure to pay wages, in her lawsuit. It has been speculated that the former nanny is seeking six figures from the singer.
Usher has been exclusively caring for his two boys, Usher IV and Naviyd ever since he won sole custody of them last August. Sounds like all of the turmoil that the nanny was feeling could have been on the heels of the nasty split that Tameka and Usher were going through, which may have caused them both to neglect her needs as a nanny.
It is no secret that the split between Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster-Raymond was nasty long and drawn out. Both parties took shots at each other with Tameka calling Usher an absentee father and Usher calling her an unfit mother. Dixon may have been caught in the crossfire, as she was working for Usher around the time of this debacle. It remains to be seen if this lawsuit should be solely directed at Usher or if both Usher and Tameka could be at fault.
