Talent Agency Sues Donald Faison, Claims Actor Stiffed Them

faisonTBS’s Who Get’s The Last Laugh star is being sued by his former agency, United Talent Agency. According to TMZ, UTA is suing the Scrubs star for money that they say they are owed for getting Faison the gig on Scrubs. UTA is claiming that Faison owes them almost $70,000 in back commission.

They are also taking credit for convincing producers to pay him $75,356 per episode. According to UTA, Faison also owes them for commission for a pilot episode of the ABC sitcom, The Law, in the amount of $60,000. The seemingly bitter agency wrote in their lawsuit that, “Faison has not only turned his back on the people that helped slingshot his career, but on his contractual obligations to those people.”

It is not clear whether UTA has attempted to reach out to the Clueless star in the past, or if this is their first and only attempt to collect. It is hard to tell, but with the economy being the way that it is, it would be no surprise if the talent agency is trying to cash in at the last minute, after seeing Faison reach higher heights in his career.

Faison played the beloved Dr. Turk on Scrubs from 2001-2010. Faison first came to the attention of directors and producers at the age of 17 in a Folgers commercial. He first caught the attention of black America in the movie,“Waiting To Exhale” playing Loretta Devine’s son. Faison is married to Jessica Simpson’s best friend Cacee Cobb and the couple is expecting their first child together. Faison also has children from a previous marriage.
