Mariah Carey Gives Randy Jackson The Boot; He’s No longer Her Manager

Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey have severed their business relationship. The original American Idol judge and close colleague of Carey is no longer her manager. According to Showbiz411, “hectic” scheduling is to blame for the split.

Jackson first met and worked with Carey in the 1990s, as A&R for Columbia Records.(A&R is the division of a record label or music publishing company that is responsible for talent scouting and overseeing the artistic development of recording artists and/or songwriters.)

He helped the pop diva broker the deal of $18 million dollars to join the judge’s panel on American Idol. But it has been rumored that Carey may be getting the boot off of the show.

Although there have been no arguments between Jackson and Carey, their split may make for an awkward situation, sitting next to each other. Viewers will have to tune in to see. Of course the feud between Carey and Nicki Minaj is never-ending. Just recently, Minaj went on a twitter rant about the singer, claiming that Carey was “bitter” and “insecure”.   

Carey released a new single entitled “Beautiful” earlier in the week, under her new managers, Red Light Management. Red Light is known for representing Radiohead, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Alicia Keys, among others. Jackson had only been Carey’s manager since 2011.  In the past, Jackson has collaborated with the singer on several of her ventures including the not so hot “Glitter” album from 2001.

Aside from Idol, Carey’s new single “Beautiful” seems to be giving her a much needed career boost. The song, which features heartthrob, Miguel, who produced and co-wrote it, is the first single from her 13^th album.

Carey has an extensive history with Billboard Hot 100 charts, as she boasts 18 No. 1s. She has the most No. 1s than any other solo artist, only coming in second to the Beatles. She has entered the Hot 100 charts 44 times with her music. 27 of those songs reached the top 10. You can also find Mariah Carey on the big screen, this year in Lee Daniel’s “The Butler”.
