Brittney Griner Comes Out of the Closet, Admits that She is Gay

Brittney Griner, one of the most dominant centers in the history of college basketball, has decided to put her love life on display by admitting that she is gay.  Griner was the #1 draft pick in the WNBA lottery and got personal with her s-x life during an interview with Maggie Gray andSports Illustrated.

Griner was asked about the difference between male and female athletes coming out of the closet:

I really couldn’t give an answer on why that’s so different. Being one that’s out, it’s just being who you are. Again, like I said, just be who you are. Don’t worry about what other people are going to say, because they’re always going to say something, but, if you’re just true to yourself, let that shine through. Don’t hide who you really are.

The gay rights issue has spilled over into sports, including a recent video featuring UCLA football coach Jim Mora letting gay men know that they are also welcome to the team.  The National Hockey also announced that they too are in support of gay athletes.

Now that Griner has gotten these issues out of the way, it might be time for her to focus on basketball.  Gay rights seem to be well-respected within the WNBA, with quite a few of the ladies sleeping with whatever gender they like.  Perhaps one day, no one will care about what a person does in the bedroom.
