bey45Beyoncé has redeemed herself a bit with her new commercial for Pepsi. In the ad you can see the singer come face to face with her many personas throughout her vast career. The first Beyoncé that she encounters is from the Bootylicious video. Decked out in black leather shorts and a sheer shirt, Beyoncé takes a sip of her Pepsi and looks into the mirror at her former self who gives her a stare of death.

The challenge begins between the two. Soon the Bootylicious persona is joined by several other personas from Beyoncé’s career including her “Crazy In Love” persona and Sasha Fierce. All of the Beyoncé’s begin battling each other through dance. But it is the current Beyoncé that beats them all, smashing the competition. Her new song “Grown Woman” can be heard throughout the ad. Beyoncé tells viewers to “Embrace your past, but live for now.” According to Billboard, Beyoncé’s new song is set to debut this coming Monday.

Beyoncé inked a $50 million dollar deal with Pepsi back in 2012, becoming the face of the brand. In exchange for Beyoncé’s face on their product, Pepsi has agreed to fund Beyoncé’s creative projects over the next few years. In a statement Beyoncé said, “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve. As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

Lee Anne Callahan-Longo, who runs Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment Company, commented on the deal saying, “It’s wise for a brand like Pepsi to give an artist the ability to truly express herself. Instead of just the old-school way of, ‘Do you want to be in an advertisement?’ This is much bigger. This is, ‘How can we create something together that is truly unique?'”
