In exit polling one in three moviegoers said that Trey Songz was the major attraction. This installment of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the second biggest opening in Chainsaw movie history.  It took in $23 million, beating out Django Unchained and Les Miserables. Females made up more than half of the opening- weekend audience. Just recently, Reuters sat down for an exclusive Q and A with the singer.

When asked how he felt about being the first black actor in the Chainsaw franchise ,Songz told Reuters, “I think it means something not only to me, but to the franchise. Ryan was originally envisioned as a white male. The fact that the studio, the producers and the director went out on a limb and put a black man in such a strong part in a classic movie first made in the 70s, when things were so different, speaks volumes too.”
