Beyonce Shakes Off Lip-Syncing Controversy

beyonce-lip-syncedBeyonce seems to be one of the only performers to only receive mild heat for lip-syncing at a performance. Reports began to surface that she was miming her performance at President Obama’s inauguration, but this controversy barely shook the pop-star. Instead she just shook it off. Apparently B is saving her voice for her Superbowl performance. Beyonce seems to have a good deal of support from a lot of people for her decision to lip-sync, making this controversy not-so controversial, after all.

“‘She’s getting ready for the Super Bowl so we didn’t have chance to do anything with her until the night. So it’s a very tight window of opportunity.’

While around 20 million Americans tuned in to watch Obama’s second inauguration, it is expected that approximately 160 million will watch the Super Bowl – which marks the end of the American football season.

Colburn’s admission comes as it was claimed that Beyoncé also blamed the cold weather for her not singing live, insisting that stars as big as Pavarotti have also mimed during performances at important occasions.

A source told US Weekly, “She didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story.

‘Everybody uses these tracks, and the music director advised it. Any big outdoor live performance is almost always with some kind of track.

‘She did sing, but used a track.’

One person who did not hold back in her criticism of Beyoncé’s reported miming was Aretha Franklin, who admitted on Wednesday that she ‘cracked up’ when she heard the news.

However, Aretha, who performed at Obama’s first inauguration ceremony back in 2009, told ABC News that the singer had ‘done a beautiful job with the pre-record’.

She said: ‘When I heard the news this evening that she was pre-recorded I really laughed. I thought it was funny because the weather down there was about 46 or 44 degrees and for most singers that is just not good singing weather.”
