New Research Reveals Latest Weight-loss Secret

There a plenty of cleanses and smoothie diets that people take to slim down, but scientists are saying that if you want to lose weight, then all you really need to do is eat healthy. The solution is actually that simple. In six months of healthy eating you can look forward to losing weight. The key to success here is cutting back on the fat that you consume. The less fat that you eat, the less fat you’ll need to burn off later.

The new research comes from a study done by the University of East Anglia (UEA). Their studies showed that trading out fatty foods for low-fat foods will help you lose weight and keep you healthier. Not only will these changes have a positive effect on your cholesterol levels, but they will also do your waistline some good.

The study (which is published in the British Medical Journal and was lead by Dr Lee Hooper from UEA’s Norwich Medical School) involved 74,000 people in 33 clinical trials. Hooper says,

“The weight reduction that we found when people ate less fat was remarkably consistent – we saw it in almost every trial. Those who cut down more on fat, lost more weight. The effect isn’t dramatic, like going on a diet. The research specifically looked at people who were cutting down on fat, but didn’t aim to lose weight – so they were continuing to consume a normal amount of food. What surprised us was that they did lose weight, their Body Mass Index decreased and their waists became slimmer. On top of this, they kept their weight down over at least seven years. There isn’t a specific goal, the more fat you cut down, the more your weight falls.”

So, cut back on your beloved fatty dairies like butter and cheese and replace the rest of their fatty friends with low-fat yogurt and low-fat milk. Cakes, biscuits and other fatty and carb-load snacks need to go entirely. Just by making those modifications, the researchers discovered that you can start to see great results.
