Dwyane Wade’s Ex-Wife Siovaughn Disputes His Memoir

Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siovaughn, appears to be having a very difficult time moving on from her relationship with the NBA star.

MailOnline reports that when Siovaughn saw that her ex-husband had released his book, “A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball,” she felt that it was necessary for her to tell her story.

Siovaughn strongly disputes the book and says that Wade was abusive to their eldest son, Zaire who is now 10 years old. She claims that he was abusive to his sons because he was also abused by his own father who was very strict.

The 31 year old mother said,

“I was concerned. There was not a time out or anything. Zaire was small in age and small in size. I would remind Dwyane of the things that had happened to him when I noticed him doing it to his sons. If this sort of thing was happening inside the house what was happening when I wasn’t there?”

Siovaughn claims that during the custody evaluations, she spoke about her ex-husband’s abusive nature but she says her concerns fell on deaf ears.

Even though an expert witness had concluded that the children were better off staying with her, Siovaughn claims that Wade was given custody because of his ‘celebrity, influence and money’.

Dwyane Wade was granted sole custody of the two boys and their mother is allowed to visit them twice a month but the judge also ordered no contact between Siohvaughn and the boys for the first 30 days.

Said, Siohvaughn, of hearing that she would not see her boys for 30 days,

“In the hours and weeks after, I cried and cried and I remember being scared when I’d see them again. Would they look different? Would their clothes still fit them? Would they still love me? I worried that they would think I wanted them to go away. There’s nothing anyone could have done for me to say, ‘Get me away from them'”

The judge allegedly ordered that Siohvaughn have no contact with her sons for 30 days so that they would have time to settle into heir new home.

She went on to describe her pain saying,

“How devastating and traumatic for these two small boys. Zion was a baby. To tell your baby that I’m going to see them in two days and that turns into two months. I can’t describe what it felt like to speak to them after 30 days. They were crying so hard they couldn’t even talk…I think influence had a lot to do with it. Celebrity had a lot to do with it. Money had a lot to do with it.”

Her attorney, Brian Hurst, agreed, saying,

“You can’t help but wonder if the celebrity and the notoriety and the money had an impact on [the case]…Mr Wade’s attorneys were very successful in creating a negative portrayal of Siohvaughn in the media. They were successful in making that stick. It has been a real ordeal for her.”

The former Mrs. Wade tells a very compelling story but there are also some compelling court documents that say she was unstable to also consider.

Doesn’t this woman understand, when its over, its over? All of this ranting and poor behavior just shows that she was a problem in the marriage and its not helping the kids at all! When Juanita and Michael were done she disappeared without a sound. D Wade’s ex should follow suit.

You got that right Mz! She should let it go and move on. If there was abuse then she should have said something long before now. One thing is for sure, you can’t make someone love or want you.

D’wade has not given the mother of his kids anything……plus she lost custody of her boys….she should continue to speak, and attempt to re-apply for custody when her sons can decide if they want to be with mommy or not. You never know, children change their minds too.

I feel badd for both Sides.. But in my opinion only I do see DWades Ex wife as a personw who would have used the kids as a pone due to her anger of Dwade wanting a divorce.. Im going off the way she put in the media he had a STD and it turn out to be wrong.. how she had ran to another state with the boys and wouldn’t let him see the boys in the begining of their desolving marriage.

I sorry they wouldn’t let her see her boys for 30 or 60 (from Her statement).. As A Mother I know this is very hard and for one of her kids to be a baby at that.

We need more Black Councelors and we need more Blacks willing to go to counciling!

Dwayne should have gotten his divorce BEFORE seeing other women. Why is everyone on his jock? He’s a CHEATER! I don’t feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for his children.

I agree completely. How can a mother just let it go. Too much celebrity worship.

There are a lot of things that we don’t know and may never know. As my grandma always said”there are two sides to the story and thenthere’s the truth”. Wht she meant was that each person sees a situation in their own eyes, which usually favors them and then, ther’s the truth.

Whoever is comparing this woman to Juanita Jordan is an idiot. Siohvaughns children are young, Juanitas children were definitely way older. Im fighting for the rest of my life for my children, especially when a professional says that i (the mother) should have the children. Fighting for your kids dont have shit to do with wanting to still be married. Where in this article do you get the impresssion she wants to be with him.
