Clint Eastwood’s Daughter Is Voting For President Obama
Clint Eastwood, the famed actor and film director that delivered the infamous “empty chair” speech at the Republican National Convention, appears to have a split house in regards to politics. Paparazzi caught up with the star’s 19-year-old daughter and asked her who she’s supporting for this year’s Presidential Election. Francesca Eastwood told the paps she’s voting for President Obama. “I happen to not be voting for the same man,” she said of her dad. “But I love that he stands up for what he believes in.”
Clint Eastwood’s infamous speech was largely criticized and started a phenomenon known as “Eastwooding,” which consisted of people posting pictures of themselves talking to an empty chair on social media platforms. Eastwood’s response to the criticism he received about his speech was more comical than the speech itself. “If somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get,” he said in an interview. “People loved it or hated it and that’s fine,” he added. “That’s what it was supposed to be.”
President Obama’s response about Clint Eastwood was diplomatic. “He is a great actor, and an even better director,” he told a major publication. “I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.” Billionaire film director Steven Spielberg happens to be a major supporter of President Obama. He and Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg donated $1 million to the Obama campaign this year.
