D.L. Hughley On Black Women: “I’ve Never Met An Angrier Group of People”

In a recent interview, DL Hughley admitted that he does not like women.

.

In a recent interview with Michelle Martin of NPR, comedian D.L. Hughley made some shocking and controversial revelations regarding his dislike of women — especially black women.

Although the comedian has been married to his African American wife for 26 years and has two daughters and one son, he revealed that he does not enjoy the company of women and still has not figured them out.

Excerpts from the interview are below.

On his dislike of women:

MARTIN: You don’t like women?
HUGHLEY: I don’t like the way they process – no, I don’t. I enjoy their company. I do not like the way that they reason. You can’t understand them.
MARTIN: Well, for a man who has been married for 26 years and has two daughters – you have three children overall, two daughters and a son – you don’t think you’ve figured it out?
HUGHLEY: Do you think any man has figured it out? Anyone? Anyone? Name me a man who says I’ve figured women out, I got it.My daughters, who I love immensely, are so certain, like if a man can have a face only a mother can love, then women can have personalities only fathers can love.

On black women:

MARTIN: …black women is – the only black woman you could be married to is your wife.
HUGHLEY: Yes.
MARTIN: Because…
HUGHLEY: Because…
MARTIN: …black women are so messed up? I mean what – or because she’s so great?I mean I’m sure she’s great but…
HUGHLEY: Well, in her ability to kind of tolerate my – it’s her ability to tolerate me, A) and B) I’ve never met an angrier group of people. Like black women are angry just in general. Angry all the time. My assessment, out of, just in my judgment, you either are in charge or they’re in charge, so there’s no kind of day that you get to rest(ph).
MARTIN: I have to ask whether is it because black women are an easy target?
HUGHLEY: No.
MARTIN: And so you can say these things because nobody is going to…
HUGHLEY: Do you think black women are an easy target?
MARTIN: Well, I mean I’m thinking you or – one of the ways you came to public attention is your defense of Don Imus for calling the Rutgers women’s basketball team nappy headed ho’s…
HUGHLEY: Right.
MARTIN: …and I understand that your defense was free speech, which I think many people understand. But if you think he’d said that about another group of women, that that would’ve been considered funny?
HUGHLEY: I can’t, really, that’s like, I can’t disprove or prove a negative, but I can say this: that I have defended any number, I have defended Michael Richards for the N-word. I’ve defended Tracy Morgan for his comments. I defended Rush Limbaugh. You know, to me, you know, what people are talking about has never really kind of worked its way into my mindset. It is the idea that they have the right to say it. So I think that’s really kind of an unfair – optically, that looks different than the way I see things. But…
MARTIN: OK.
HUGHLEY: …I don’t think black women are easy targets at all. I respect them great – a great deal. I think that to pretend like I don’t see things the way that I do is to do a disservice to them.

Well with that said D.L. I think yo are just SLOW

    • Lemuel Muhammad

Here is wisdom: Number one, D.L. Hughley is no authority on race, psychology or male/female relationships he is a comic. He has a right to express his view. However, the real power here is the fact that his views sparked dialogue on a sensitive and important subject manner.
The more liberal people will always disagree with the more socially conscious. The hard truth is that there are just so many ignorant people (this is no accident) who simply have not had the napkin removed from their eyes and they argue and disagree not having a comprehensive knowledge. Our fathers, mothers and grand-parents are getting younger and so they’re not wise enough to know and will not listen (hear) those who already walked down the street they are on. Please don’t comment on this, just think!

Black woman are angry because black men have been f*****g them over for years I’b be angry too.

    • greyeyedgirl

which is why i don’t deal with them period…why when I want to be loved and happy?

      • Blkqwn7

I’m with you on not dealing with them, at least not intimately. If I find a truly good one without this messed up way in thinking then of course I would reconsider my position with dating Black men. However, I find them to be angry. I see them dating all the WRONG Black women and then out of anger lumping us all up. Recently, there was an article out here about Black women dismissing the GOOD Black men, now this c**p. What good Black men??? Last I checked they can’t keep their fly in their pants and believed it was a God given right for them to w***e around. How many of them have six and more baby mamas?? We won’t date the garbageman is a BS comment. I know many who do date the garbage man, and have found their men using their route to pickup women. I think Black men need to start holding them own selves responsible for their failure to understand Black women and stop the BLAME game. Black women are crossing racial and cultural lines and running the h**l away from Black men, because we are fed-up and White guys are not complaining and running successful households with the Black woman.

        • Hucklebuck

Truly a sad statement and situation. I think your response is like the pot calling the kettle black. You yourself have lumped men together and spoke on how we have done it. (can’t beat’em join’em mentality huh?) Then your running the h**l away from black men is the most ugliest thing I’ve heard coming from a black women, for lack of better words, Bye! There are many of us running successful households, as for the complaining aspect. It probably sounds that way to you due to your inability to communicate. Love, Peace and Hair grease! But then again you prefer hair spray…

          • brotherscoe

The whiteman is not monogamous, he goes with anybody or thing that he wants and nothing is said, about it. Brothers you have to know the difference in the black female vs black woman, or you will always be disappointed, with females calling themselves women but in reality are your enemy and have more black men killed or in prison, because they are giving the racist something to use as a buffer against you. There is no enemy against the black man
like tthe black female that he sleeps with. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE AND SEPERATE THE TWO.

          • torilam

I totall agree.as a black woman I find it to be sad that black women are actually willingly abandoning our black men. You love who u love but to make it a point to not date black emn makes them a disgrace. You will never meet one person black or white who hasn’t been through something.that is one of the things that is wrong with our black men.too many black women are giving up on them.

          • anttuck

For all you sister who have given up hope for our black community, and venture off to the white race- be gone- your are the type of people our community do not need. We need strong positive, supportive brothers and sisters to keep our tribe strong. We, as a tribe, have progressed over the years by being strong supportive parents. We should be raising our sons to be respectful to our black women. Our sons see their mothers, aunts, sisters, and grandmother, and from them they learn how to treat a women. When they see men in and out of these women lives they think it is okay to run a round and mate with whom ever they want. So to all the so-called sister who have given up on black men take a strong look at your self and she what you have done, or have not done to promote the respect the black man should have for the black women and the black tribe.

        • SYLVIA

Girl, you hit the nail on the head! I will not read any farther.
Anyone want to see what Black men do, watch the TV show Cheaters!

          • Blkqwn7 & Slyvia,

You two are confused as HE*L!!! I’m not sure what wille lynch book you have been reading, but you need to put it down quick. If you think that the people that have a history of raping you are going to treat you right you are the perfect tool for them. Maybe you need to check youself and see what type of men you choose.

          • What a Black Man Thinks

Yeah because black women never cheat, right? Actually women are more likely to cheat and get away with it than men because women are better liars. That includes black women.

          • If I re-call right you see all nationalities on “Cheaters”, being slimy. So why is it magnified when a black man gets caught cheating. Men and women cheat so to say that it is exclusively a black man thing is totally ignorant.

I can tell you one thing for sure, I have heard some black women tell educated, responsible, kind, and doing the right thing brothers, that they were trying to be white, now ain’t that a kick in the head.

Then they turn around and jump in the bed with a wanna be thug and get dogged and wanna put all blackmen in that negative bowl of bullshit!!

If a woman ends up with a no good man regardless of his race, then she needs to work on her decision making abilities, plain and simple. And quit being the fakes that a lot of them are, after money, cars, and fame. h**l get your on money!!!

          • torilam

Really??? You sound ignorant.there are more than just black men on that show.

          • torilam

Really??? You sound ignorant.that show does not solely consist of black men.

        • What a Black Man Thinks

The majority of black women ARE the wrong women. And actually, as D.L. said, black women are the most angry group of people. Perhaps if black women would distance themselves from the ghetto women, the feminist black women, the “nobody can’t tell me what to do” black women, the bitter women, the single mothers with multiple “baby daddies and no shame, the self entitled women and the narcissistic women, we could better distinguish. But instead of standing by Black men, most of you enable and subscribe to that sisterhood ideology, not even realizing that it’s these types of women who breed nonproductive men for your daughters. Considering most black women are having kids with thugs and bums, that article is correct. It’s funny that women blame men when women get pregnant. Women have 17+ different types of birth control, men only have one. In addition, women can abort. Men don’t have that option. So maybe the real problem is these women can’t keep their legs closed. No man on the planet can understand black women. Because most of them are illogical. And only focus on the effect but ignore the cause. Black men are the way that they are because women want them to be. If black women as a whole decided to marrow not to have s*x with any man without a degree, guaranteed black men would form a country long line signing up for classes. This is female power. And you women have lost it. LOL There might be some white men who will have relationships with black women, but most of the time, it’s just a quick f**k. They know how insecure black women are regarding their looks. That’s why black women flock to white men. Because they are the ones who originally said black women are ugly. And to compensate, black women try finding any white man they can hook. It’s really pathetic.

          • Wow. You broke it down so perfectly that I can’t even add nothing to what you just wrote except that it’s too bad most of these sisters won’t even see the truth of your reply.

          • Forward Movement

            @what a Black man thinks!
I am so cracking up right now! I used to be that “angry” chick….and since you are all about d*****g sistahs today. I will let you, well because black men are dogged everyday of the year. Whether it’s at the supermarket, the grocery store, a church, or even nightclass anywhere you can find any two people together you will find them d****n black men….Right?! Negro PuLLLLLease! You dated probably a certain type of chikita and think you understand black women and you totally missed the point.
Black women, as well as black men respond “in kind”. If a person allows someone to treat them poorly it is not the fault of the someone doing the treating as much as it is the fault of the person not addressing the issue. I will address the following:
            1) I am not concerned with how many children a woman has as much as I am concerned about her child-rearing abilities
2)Economics – it was rare for a black woman to be told to get an advanced education because she is going to run her own company, but it was sure easy to put her in a home economics class because, well she’ll probably have a whole bunch of kids, and she’ll probably be raising them on her own
            3) Why when a black woman decides to date outside her race do Black men from ALL OVER TOWN have a comment to make, but when she was willing to make it work with a Black man it was a PROBLEM?

Look there is insecurity on both sides (black men and women) and basically it is all about maturity. the crazy head shaking chick you see today you probably won’t see twenty years from now. And there are no pension plans for thugs, everybody has to grow up sometime and acknowledge that they weren’t paying attention at first but they are paying attention now.
Stop looking at those bawdy women, you know they haven’t finished growing up yet.

          • hawk

            fantastic reply!!!!

          • torilam

I can’t say that I agree with you on this one.I will say that I am a black woman married to a black man that works hard for me and our daughter everyday.have we had our share of issues? Yes but real women and men work through that.black women aren’t always what you described and to play the blam game is just rediculous but to make it seem like there are no good black men is also.as people we have to learn to take responsibility for the roles we play in the demise of our relationships.

          • Jeneboess

Actually, it is not pathetic. It is life. Black women can marry who they want to marry. Race should not matter. I am one of those women who have white friends, but would not consider bedding or marrying a white man because the memory is still alive in my mind, of the white men raping the black woman. It is something I need to get over within myself, but it will probably go with me to my grave. Years back during slavery the white women were considered the forbidden fruit, where a black man could not touch them without being killed for it. However, it was open season on the black women who were bedded every night by their owners, and bearing children for them that were sold for profit, while their wives turned a blind eye. They were not strong enough to stop it, it does not mean the white women agreed with them back then. So I don’t blame some of the white women. As for selling off the babies?…We do not know today where most of our family is, or who they are. This gave me a different perception about white men. If you are willing to sell your own children for a profit, like they were merchandise, then I could not stomach sleeping with you. As I talk to others about this, I was told that was all in the past, and those people are dead and gone. I also have family members in the south who are married to white men, and they are very happy. Your choice is your choice. The black woman is misunderstood a lot more than other races, because we have been through a lot, but manage to have the strength to survive. When I hear the words “I can get along with white women better than black ones”, it is offensive to me, because what has white women gone through to be really angry about? Of course there is a difference. It does not mean black women do not know how to love, because we love the hardest out of all races. We take care of our own to the bitter end. If most black women were educated on their history, and their ancestors stories were trickled down to the next generation, like mine, then the black man can understand more. The black man is not solely the blame or cause of a black woman’s anger, but they play a part in it. This has started from back in the day, to today. The plan of William (Willie) Lynch to weaken the minds of black men, and strengthen the mind of the black woman worked on most! If you don’t believe me, read his writings, and how he explains the brutal and inhumane psychology behind the African slave trade. They had a plan then, and the plan still exists. We need to stop hating on each other, and get with the program, or we will remain in history, as the weakest thinkers. I am not saying go around hating white people because we all need to get along to condition America, but know your history. You can forgive, but never forget. There are a lot of black men that don’t know their history, like some black women, or I believe things would be different. We are a strong race, but we act like we are the weakest, so we get treated as such. We need to educate each other, not criticize and kill each other (which is part of the plan.

        • Bernard

Okay….now lets get real here for a second. This is a man that has been married for 28 years. Most people can’t hold a relationship for more than 2 months. I’ve been married for 18 years and I understand somewhat what he is saying. The fact is everybody is finding mates with the exception of sistas. You see a million articles all the time on how 70 percent of Black women don’t get married. It is they that have the problem and not anyone else. You say white men are running house holds with black women…really…come on…how much of that do you really see. If you think White men aren’t s******g just talk to white women….or better yet…just look around when you go outside. How do you think all these people got here and despite what you think….they are getting divorced at record rates and what excuse do they have. They clearly get better jobs than everyone else. I think sisters have their priorities mixed up. You spoke about the black guy that has 6 baby momas…now how do you think that happened? 5 more women decided that they wanted to screw’em since the other woman did and never stopped to see that if he is not taking care of what’s already here…chances are you aren’t going to change him…but they try. They constantly date and have babies by men that are destin for an early trip to the grave yard or a trip to prison. They they try and turn to the so called nerds whom they were too good for in the past, but now things have changed. They are past their prime. They want the same men they stepped over to take them and these bad a*s kids in and supply them with what they should’ve been looking for when they were in their early years. I have a great wife, but I see how women operate all the time. I have several male friends that are s******g up to 6 and 8 women and just about all of them pretty much know what’s going on. Many sisters act as if they don’t want you unless someone else has or wants you. It’s a backwards @$$ way of thinking. My father told me a long time ago, not to worry about trying to figure women out. All the guys that go bald in their 20′s? That’s from trying to figure women out. Women shouldn’t try to figure men out either. Accept the differences and move on.

          • Blkqwn7

Well, Bernard you and a few other’s out here just proved my point with your own words. I do not hang with ghetto women and I do not know many who do, but what I do see is many brothers who have several baby mothers and most of them are loud, obnoxious and materialistic. Exactly, what you say about Black women I believe that the same advice applies to Black men, close your zipper and keep your pants up on your behind, because I am sorry, but Black and Hispanic men sleep around a lot. I have one father for my child, can you say the same??? Many of you can’t. I’ve had brothers who do not have conversation, and I don’t know who they are dating, but will throw their wallets open in my face for me to see how much money they are carrying! Do I look like a w***e?? If that weak mess work with a woman, then maybe the women are messing your minds up, but at some point you have to hold yourselves accountable, and please don’t put yourself out there like that cuz when the little hustler expect your money you talk about her like a dog and call her a gold-digger, that’s what you wanted her to be remember you showed her your wallet from day one??

Why do Black men meet you and try to sleep with you immediately? You can’t take a real woman on one date and then ask her immediatey how long do you have to wait for s*x, and then you have other’s who try to get into your underpants and never take you on one date! Ladies please pay attention if the cellphone is ringing off the hook and he isn’g answering, get a clue. If his phone is always on vibrate, get another clue. If he tells you he has children and you never see him with them, but he has a phone that never stops ringing, please get a clue. Do we really want a brother who never sees his own child! Please do not listen to his sobs and lies about his children’s mother, he’s lying, trust me. She most likely is the angry woman that they are talking about, angry because she would like a break to go out and have a peace of mind away from his child that he won’t see unless she is willing to sleep with him!

I don’t know what is going on out there and I don’t care. All I know is if I can be treated well and respected by a man, and he just so happen to be White, that is who I am giving my time to then. What’s up with the hypocritical c**p? Brothers can date all the white trash from a White man’s garbage he can get, but as soon as he sees a decent Black woman with a White man he has a fit! Hypocrites. Stop hating, White men are not dating us just for a quickie, if so then those are the longest and best quickies I’ve ever heard of or experience. Just face it, Black men have failed at honoring their women, they have played the blame game and tried to turn ALL men off from us. You guys are angry with us and why, because you keep choosing the wrong ones. You want a woman accomplished, and you want her doing all the womanly duties, that I will admit, many sisters will not do today. However, when you get it what are you doing, knocking boots with Sally, Mary, Katrina and Lakiesha too. I’m a grown woman and refuse to play chidish games, and sorry honey, but if you are taken real women don’t even look your way, so again, you reveal yourselves as dating the WRONG ones and don’t hate the White man for being smarter than you. Sisters, stop hanging on to what isn’t working, broaden your horizons, you do not have to be pent up from lack of love, and trust me don’t believe the hype White guy’s are rocking it and as I told a sister recenty, yes they can jump very well and high, thank you very much. Another one of Black men’s lies, along with those dirty White women they date who no decent White man will ever touch.

          • Out of my thirst for knowledge why do you think that most famous black women are married to white men??

          • torilam

So true.I totally agree.my screen is jumping so some of the comments I have made were put on the wrong post but I stand by them none the less.bottom line is stop blaming and take responsibility.

        • coptic777

Everything you said was self projection. “Black women are crossing racial and cultural lines and running the h**l away from Black men, because we are fed-up and White guys are not complaining and running successful households with the Black woman.” Whatever you need to tell yourself so you can sleep at night dear lol.

      • Sounds like hatred to me.

        • Jane

It is hatred. Go to YouTube and the Tonight Show and look at this DL Hugely fool calling Blak women the ugliest women on the planet. Talk about a sick self hating slave!!!!

No more stories on this fool!!!!!!

          • Gerri

It’s a mess and African American men and women as a people just don’t understand how damaged they are emotionally and to fix it, it has to start with loving themselves, first.

      • Moo

..the f**k?! Deal with “them”? What’s that supposed to mean.. Like a white guy is impervious to “f*****g over” a woman? It’s sad to see that people actually think these kinds of things, an utter shame..

        • torilam

I agree.a cheater is a cheater.some change some don’t but it is a mistake to think that white men do cheat solely because they are white.that’s a joke.they cheat too and to think that they don’t makes that woman an easy target.

    • Chiniquy

So “black” men were the ones who enslaved and raped “black” women for centuries. So “black” men are the reason why so many “black” women have been trying to imitating the physical beauty traits of Caucasian women for over 100 years.

      • Valerie Lunsford-Winbush

Chiniquy, I take issue with D.L. Hughley, not black men in general. I LOVE black men! As far as black women imitating the physical beauty traits of white women is concerned, I strongly disagree. What physical traits do white women possess that are so beautiful that we black women just have to imitate? The last time I checked, straight, wavy, curly, blond, red, brown, and long hair; green and blue eyes; pointed noses; and small lips, etc., are innate, physical traits of women of ALL races – no cosmetic surgery, contacts, hair dying or lengthening required.

        • Chiniquy

I am afraid that you are delusional Valerie. How many of the African women slaves from Africa had the physical features you described?

        • Valerie, pardon my french, but…….. are you crazy? You just described Cindy Lauper! Everyone knows blacks $are known for their full lips, noses, coarse hair, and brown or black eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • Thelma

            To our African Friends:

Valerie’s description of black women are correct when referring to todays’s black women. We do come in a multitude of colors, i.e, hair, skin tone, shape of lips, eye color, etc. If you are talking about the history of black women, then you will find a different discussion taking place in regard to how she “might have looked.”

In talking about the attitudes of black women, again, black women come from different environments. She will be shaped by how she was raised. I hope that you will take the time to learn more about where each of come from and try to respect the differences. We can all learn from each other and try not to be so critical. If you find a sister looking like Cindy Lauper, she is still your sister.

          • Gerri

As far as course hair, I’m African American and have a deep complexion with curly fine hair. Not all African American women as created equally we come in all different shades, sizes and there are alot of us without full lips. Also, I’ve seen other women with brown eyes and greenish gray eyes and they are black. Do your research, Africa is home of beautiful gems of womem.

          • ujunwa

I’m a black lady, nigerian to be precise and thus fully African. well physically, If I were to bleach up, i’d be mistaken for a caucasian cos of my features. My siblings and I have the pointed nose, Brazilian b**t thing and our eyes are basically grey. I think you misunderstood Valerie tho cos really you can find a lot of those features in racially mixed blacks though I am no half cast. Chiniguy got it all wrong when he started refering to centuries of rape and enslavement tho bcos really it’s not the bone of contention The point is the man said black women (and he generalized) are angry ppl. Which I vehemently disagree With him. I don’t think black women (and i’m speaking from my African point of view) are angry ppl I think they are just strong willed and black men don’t like that cos it challenges their manhood. I think most blackmen i’ve met even in America the so-called African American men don’t know what being a man is all about (not all of them, the few i’ve met). You can’t expect to be waited on hand and foot when u bring nothing to the table you better expect to do as the crazy black woman says.

          • Blkqwn7

Timothy, honey, I am going to try to really go easy on you cause I really do feel sorry for you, but Valerie is not the crazy one. I have a niece whose hair will streak blond in the Summer, I have family members with brown, golden eyes and loosly curled hair and hair that is tightly curled. Long locks that are their natural hair and I just seen a picture of a Black woman from England whose eyes are blue. I went to school with a Black girl whose eyes are green and her chid today is blacker than night and her eyes are green/golden.

Honey, you are ignorant and dealing with some self hatred issues. I understand. I have a brother who refuse to date a woman unless her hair is bone straight and I told him he needed to get out of that ignorant way of thinking. Many sisters today are embracing the natural locks and I don’t blame them, it’s beautiful. Anymore in all races/cultures you are going to see a mix. I’ve seen White folks with curls that I would die for, hair more like a typical Black person. I’ve seen some with features such as big lips and no they did not have surgery. I’ve seen, and I hate to admit this one, but White girls with behinds like a typical Black woman, and oddly, I’ve seen Black women with behinds like White girls! Honey, get out a lot more before you stoop to calling people degrading names.

        • Cory

Valerie, have you ever met a black person with blonde hair? The traits you have mentioned are typically of Aryan and Anglo-Saxon blood. In all of my years, I have never seen a black women with blonde hair pointy noise and small lips, unless they were mixed even then its rare. Most black women do wear hair extensions that derived from European culture. Contacts and other cosmetically altered features that most black women indulge in are of European Decent.

          • anywho

yes, my neice is black but very fair and has blonde hair (born with it).
Try getting out of your surrounding sometimes. Not all Black women look alike or have the same physical traits.

Not all black women wear weaves either. Come out of the circle of people you are around.

h**l, I even have a pointy nose and small lips…

          • There are aboriginals that have Blonde hair and blue eyes in Australia. And in our culture, we come from all over the world. Not all of us have one look. I do not have big lips or curly hair. Not all women in my family look alike. We are not all alike, and we all do not wear weaves. And if we do, so what if you want to enhance your look. Men do it all the time. We are not our hair, our booties or our features. We all come from different walks of life, yet we get dumped into one category

          • Bernie

Valerie is correct. @Cory – I am a black woman with light brown eyes, thin lips, and a slim, pronounced nose while my son has the very “European” as you call it – sharp, pointed nose. Yet, we are African-Americans (African & Scottish ancestry). My son’s hair is naturally curly/wavy while my hair is coily/curly. Genes are an amazing thing!

I believe that’s all part of Valerie’s point as well. We come in all colors & features. Blue-green eyes, hazel, brown, black, grey. We have cinnamn, mocha, chocolate, honey-brown, dark chocolate complexions – we are truly “rainbow children” and that’s no discredit to our race or any other.

It’s very sad that people attribute a broad, flat nose or kinky/coily hair as a negative, African trait. I have never seen only dark-skinned Africans with broad noses – I’ve seen Africans in ALL complexions as well with dark and light eyes, small AND broad noses.

We all need to grow beyond the negative perceptions. But some people just do not wish to see the beauty in all races of people. Now, THAT’S what’s UGLY…

        • Joyce Pope

Valerie, I think she speaks to true African women. As we know once the African woman was raped by the white man that ended the pureness of he African (Americanized) man or woman. Genetically genes were mixed and matched, recessive genes are then passed on from one race to another. So yes we do have that mixture of hair, eyes, lips and the like. Have you really stepped out and looked at your Sistas, what do they look like today – not in the long ago yesterday. Be good to your brothers and sisters we all have a difficult row to hoe (no exceptions). Learn to smile and if you have an issue why pass that on, when you smile people see you as a person with personal self worth. Keep what is wrong to yourself because only you can resolve your own issues. LOVE, PEACE & HAPPINESS yes difficult but not unobtainable.

          • Blkqwn7

Darlene, you are so right, I seen them on national geographic and it was beautiful and interesting to see. Red, reddish blonde and blonde hair, black folks!

      • Sweldon

Here’s the problem with ANYONE who’s black talking about “I don’t deal with black Men/Women” If you are black, you are asserting that to be black is an inferior state of being. In other words, blackness equals GENETIC INFERIORITY. If that is the case, it doesn’t matter who you “go to” to get away from the opposite black gender, the person you “go to”, by your own definition (black = inferior) should choose ANYONE BUT YOU! After all, who wants to procduce inferior offspring? Isn’t that all you, if you believe black= inferior, can offer. YOU ARE ASSERTING BLACK GENETIC INFERIORIY! That is something that you can’t “change” just because you aren’t dating a black person. So here’s the point – STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW INFERIOR BLACK MEN/WOMEN ARE, AND START STRATEGISING HOW YOU ARE GOING TO EMPOWER YOUR CHILDREN TO GROW UP AS SELF RESPECTING BLACK MEN AND WOMEN. They can’t possibly do that with you thinking your own people are inferior by virtue of being what you are, BLACK.

        • Theo

Sweldon, You are so very correct in your assessment of this situation. I am so sick and tired of Black men and Black women putting each other down like this. Black men or women who participate in this c**p are the most ignorant of all.
There are much more important issues that consume the time of intelligent, “thinking” Black people.

        • Deangela

I agree. I have often expressed the same. We are so bitter and self hating we dont need other races to denigrate us-we do a rather fine job of it. For anyone to lump all black women together as angry may as well lump all black men together as violent and irresponsible. Isnt’t that the sterotype? We have to do better for our children.

        • Blkqwn7

I disagree with you, and yet agree to a certain degree. I am not saying I do not deal with Black men, but I refuse to date them, would consider it, but it would take a very decent one. Unfortunately, they are rare. I am not going to sit around with cobb webbs on my V-Jay Jay, waiting around for the decent Black man, while they keep dating skeaming Kisha and then come out of it angrier than h**l and blaming all Black women of being angry. Life is too short for me to place limits on myself. Love my people, but I am sorry, Black men are leaving a lot left to be desired.

      • Nikkie

@Chiniquy. I totally agree with you and what makes it really sad is that black women are in complete denial when it comes to the masses of weave and false hair that most of the time doesn’t even look good AND don’t get me started on baldness in black women!

There are too many fake black women, too many that will overlook a black guy that will truly love and not cheat on them simply because he doesn’t look a certain way or have a certain job. The way some black women behave I am appalled however, I have no time for black men that rule out the whole population of black women because of it. We are not all the same just like our men.

I think some black men have a really hard time just like some black women but at the end of the day we pick them so we need to take responsibility. There are good black women and men and there are dreadful ones just like any other race.

        • Jeneboess

I agree with Chinniguy, although Valerie meant no harm in what she said. She is absolutely right! It goes back from what I have said, and Chinn has said. Black women have been raped for hundreds of years, and bearing children that were sold to the highest bidder. Most of those looks extend from the ones who mixed with your ancestors. White men were not the only slave owners. Know your history. Black women feel they have to change themselves to fit in, and it is not true. If someone is making you change who you truly are, to get somewhere, then you need to reject their plan and move on. Criticizing each others opinion does not help. You can disagree with a comment without calling names. You are not crazy for saying how you feel.

      • coptic777

Chiniquy are reading these responses from black women? They are DELUSIONAL as usual.

    • Valerie Lunsford-Winbush

      Right on!!!

    • Phil

You’re f…d over in the head. Keep hooking up with jacked up little boys and that’s what you get.

    • This is one of the most anticipated, nonsensical responses you could have come up with. It is a tired response to a problem that needs further consideration.

    • Oh f**k that bullshit. Men in general f**k women over. It’s the way the world of patriarchy works. GET OVER IT. White people have f****d us over for 460 years and you wouldn’t walk around mad at them….stop making excuses for them and deal with emotions.

    • Kim

SO FREAKING TRUE!!!! the whites ones are just as bad. You are better off staying alone and cellabate these days!

    • kookie

I agree. It seems that Black males think that Black women are beneath them. I have not idea where they get this thought from. Black women are not the ones who are more likely to become imprisoned. Instead, it is more Black women who are college educated and who are also more financially stable. I think Black males are very jealous of Black women. Not to go off the issue, look how bad Black women are treated in these churches. It is sad how the very supporters of the Black race, women are being ostricized and disrespected.

      • Amen to all that. I’m a beautiful intelligent black women and I know most men who meet me think exactly that; because they know I am NOT the 1 when it comes to bullshit. I’m goal oriented and success driven; therefore I don’t Need any outside bs trying to block my forward movement. DL is just that d_l; because he can’t deal with the reality of who he is and who the strong and real black women Are that supported him to reach the point he’s at today. no doubt his wife has cut him off for a few days For talking like this, which is why he’s ranting in this a rational manner. all he needs is a good p***y whippin. :-)

    • What a Black Man Thinks

In what way have Black men been “f*****g them over for years?” Did you even think before making this illogical, emotional and just plain stupid comment?

      • Shane

BLACK women have been f*****g themselves over. They decide on the types of men they deal and lay with. They decide to breed b*****d children with irresponsible men. Blk women are volunteers, not victims. They have choices in the matter, blk women just choose to make bad choices.

    • Sonya Lawson

Black woman stop complaining he has right to his opinion. I am black woman alot black woman walk around angry not all but some. We have attitude problems. We need to check ourselves alot black men dont deal with black women. We have change ladies.

    • Shane

black women are angry because of the bad choices they’ve made in life and they are realizing that they have to live with those choices. They are also angry because few and fewer people are willing to deal with them and their baggage.

  3. TMassey

Black women are angry because they are a group that are being put on an island alone by themselves. They are being ridiculed, talked about and left alone to raise children by themselves. Black women as a group are portrayed as someone that anyone can walk on. Wonder why they act the way they act… Notice I said (act)… When Black Men as a group begin to step up protect and start making Sista’s feel worth wild. They will always continue to act this way. D.L. Hughley is not interested in seeing Black Women being healed.

    • Chiniquy

Maybe when “black” women stop imitating Caucasian women and accept the beauty that has been bestowed on them by G-D then we will see a difference. So many women of African descent talk as if young men of African descent are raised by their fathers. That would be the reason why they grow up to disrespect “black” women. But we know this isn’t true; they are raised by “black” mothers. Maybe the reason may be that their slavish imitation of Caucasian beauty standards has made their sons sub-consciously reject “black” women.

      • Chiniquy, you hit it right on the head!

      • H. J. Roseau

Clinique, I am tempted to agree with your remarks.

      • A woman dressing attire, or dying their hair etc… has nothing to do with the nothing. Every black woman is not angry, just because she’s straightforward and assertive does not mean she angry. Where do you and others see all these angry black women?

        • Blkqwn7

I’m with you bridgett. I see Black women who are hurting and making excuses for the men who hurt them, and talking about how they just can’t leave Black men. I see other’s who are like myself and we are not angry, because we are not placing all of our whole selfworth and lives into having a man. There is a lot more in life that brings one happiness, such as having a passion for something. There are the career oriented ones who do not even come up for air to know that they are missing out on intimacy and then you have the desperate ones, that I mostly see from afar. There are a ton of Black women who are celibate! They haven’t been with a man in years and they are not making it there focus. I try telling them to broaden their horizons, but many are just like I use to be, we do not even think about going outside our own to find completness with another. Mr. Right might not be Black ladies so open your eyes he could be right in front of you and want to love you, if only you could see him.

      • Victoria

You guys are stupid. One thing has nothing to do with another. It is a shame the amount of self hatred that exist and the fact that most of the comments are probably from those not black. We all have struggles. We all have issues. Black, White, Rainbow all have issues. My eyes are brown by birth. My hair is semi permed not because I wish to be anything but because I hate dealing with the coarse hair and it looks better straightened. For all you facts buffs white women wear perms to curl their hair. Their hair is naturally straight and they perm it to put the curl where we have curls to our hair type and we perm it to make it straight. I am a single parent and I do have a son and he loves his mother and if he does go out and find a woman of any descent it has nothing to do with my parenting skills but his choice and preference. My kids dad died in Iraq which left me in a single state but you know what I will make lemonade with the lemons that were left and my son will be fine and so will my daughter. Love each other and stop all this it is just perpetuating the cycle of hate for all.

      • For Real

You know what? Slavish mentalities go hand in hand and when you equally mentally slavish black men( that is if your really black) get it together then things will change.

All I see is two sides of the same coin and they are both equally bad. Some of you black men do a lot of butty licking to whites. You crave their attention and approval. So if you get your mental slavish heads together, you could bring about positive change.

        • tomasisthe1

Sad but true. It initially worked for Obama when he was a fresh, less known face. Now, Whites are abandoning him in droves. It is difficult to find a happy medium for any minority without being accused of b**t kissing or trying to be White. We all need to function well in the real world, as we don’t live in a vacuum. Our schools are teaching a mis-guided form of self-esteem – an almost delusional approach that does not really allow our kids to function well in the give & take world. Pride, self-confidence, self-assurance all need a basis in rationality & marketable skills as well as just plain getting along without feeling conquered by opposing forces.

      • kookie

How is Black woman trying to become like a White woman? If Black men would stop running to everyone that has hair that’s stringy and those who lack melonin in their skin maybe those lost sista’s would learn to love themselves. How can a mother who works tiredless to help her young son or daughter all by herself be the cause of self-hate? The greatest influencer in our society is the media. If the media states that the ideal concept of beauty is the next of kin to white American then that’s what that child will subconsciously think. I take my hats off to hardworking Black women who are doing everything in their abilities to raise children. It seems that the creator of this site neglects to show the accomplishments of Black women. Whereas, he hides the failures of Black males because he is one.

      • Rose

Most of the African slaves came from West Africa. There are different regions in Africa, with people having different facial features and hair textures. Make-up and wigs were used in Egypt. There are black people that live on Islands around and on Austrailia that have blond hair that is not from Europeans race. As for the races we imitate each other. Europeans women would have what is called “bussels” sewn on the back of there dresses to make them look as though the had a behind. Today, blacks have straight hair, some whites have dread locks. Whites have behinds and large lips.
In my travels, I have met angry black men and women. It helps to know who you are and where you come from. It is importnat to know that we came from kings and queens, with civilizations that marvel the world. You can be raised by the most disfunctional family there is and still not be like them. We choose who and how we want to be. It is a choice and we have the power to change with the help of God.

        • Mslee

Thank you so much for your wisdom & insight. It definitely confirms that you have broader horizons and are not a victim of your surroundings. I love my black people & I will never put anyone above them. We have been deeply scarred throughout our existence but only those of us who seek better will get better. I have had bad relationships all my life beginning with the my daddy. He was the first man to break my heart. I cant change that its in the past.I nade alot of mistakes because of it. Sure my daddy hurt my feelings & I blame him to an extent but I cant change what happened….I can change what happens from this point forward. I wanted change so I sought change & found that I must change me….even those parts that were created by my environment. I want my kids to be better so I am going to show them better. Their daddy…my ex husband is a black man & he’s not around. I prefer it this way…..not because Im bitter but because he is still living in his pain. The decisions he makes are based on what was done to him. He doesnt want better. He believed that I wanted to control him because I wanted him to get in control of himself & not continue to be a victim of his environment. I know it takes alot of work to let go of hurt feelings & bad habits to change…it took me 18 years. He married a white woman because she let him do what he wants to do. He calls it acceptance….call it what you want.WhenI remarry it will be to a black man. I am a black woman & for me there is no other suitable mate. I dont want anyone else. My daddy is a black man…he hurt me….all if my boyfriends are black men….they hurt me…..my ex husband is a black man….he hurt me. What I realized is that I was looking for men to give me what I can only give myself….self love….self worth….self esteem. I have that now & I am great. I found all of this through my relationship with my Father….GOD. My husband will have these same values. I wish much peace love & happiness to all of my lovely bruthas & sistas…..change is achievable!!!!

      • ujunwa

Cbiniguy, I think hour Argument is baseless. I am from a broken home and my siblings and I basically raised ourselves disregarding the fact that I had a stepmum and we lived with our dad not our mum. Now my dad is a business man and was always out, my stepmum on the other hand didn’t care about us. Mh dad comes back from wherever he goes to and plays not only the daddy role but also the mummy role. My dad thought me about my period, he takes us to get our general health checked and I have a stepmum but my dad still did all of that. However, we went off to college and it was just us against the world but because of everything my dad thought me, I learned to cope with the real world my mum contributed nothing. Yes, African mothers raise their children simply because the African men knows what being the head of a family entails (my dad is an example). You keep talking bout black women fixing weaves and all that, like if you were to keep a girl who keeps her afro and a girl who wears a weave, 9 out of ten black men will not go after the flashy weave wearing girl, I think your line of argument is hypocritical. Black men everywhere are basically inferior creatures. I know a brother whose white wife divorced after 14yrs and 2 kids for her junky boyfriend, he lamented and lamented how the white lady did nothing except sit around and spend his money and how he even does the cooking while still making the dough yea. Bd finally finds an nigerian girl who was just being the good lady and who is working and gets paid really well. He started playing the compare and contrast game even went as far as comparing their hair how the ex wifes hair is long and how hers is short (like seriously) this is the height and this is someone who was lamenting and sayin bad stuff bout the ex. Finally the wedding between the duo didn’t hold simply bcos the white ex wife who not only cheated on him bit left him for her junky ex one day after 8months of refusing to take his calls and forbidding the kids to speak with their father decides to take his call and starts to cry bout how broke she was and how she had to sell the boys’ ipad. Well needless to say, black men are the ones who are the definition of inferiority complex that nigerian brother is an embodiment of that definition. Even when they decide to settle for a black lady after they have become successful, they settle for the bleached up ones or very fair ones very few of them actually settle for the really black ones and you wanna talk about black women wearing weaves or contacts. As a matter of fact, black women who wear weaves are the smart ones who know what the black men folk like and they go for it. Black women are strong willed and are hardly push overs. So really the problem is With the black men not the women and D.L Hugely (can’t be bothered getting the name right) is a r****d.

        CORRECTION Chinky:

Black men are the most brainwashed. While you kiss the azzez of any white person that will listen, you constantly bring down your own as if you’re absolved from all of it.

And you have the gall to talk shitt about black women.

Maybe if black men like you would stop thinking with your dikks and Mandingo inferiority complex, the lot of you would see that.

That’s a laugh! Black men were the ones who sold their own into slavery!

    • Floyd

TMassey you are fully correct. Black women or women in general will respond to what men do. If the men are irresponsible, and do not carry
out their manly responsibilities, women will react negatively to this action. For every action there is a reaction.

I am very disappointed in our young Black men who are below 40 years old. Many do not know why they are on this earth, so when men deviate from his Godly responsibilities, then this leaves the women in a state of confusion and thus anger. Man is supposed to be the protector and provider for his family, and the women is part of this family. The woman is the only s*x who can populate
the world (with the help from man’s sperm). Only the woman, in today’s world, can accomplish this and if this is not properly done she will get angry. This is the reason that without the woman, man will cease to exist. In fact without the woman there will be no need to worship God, because there will eventually be no one to do so. All being said, the woman is the QUEEN of the Universe and I treat her as such.

I love to be around the female gender for I have no problem communicating. I had a mother and have 5 sisters as well as my wife and many female relatives. I love them all and I cherish their existence. Most of all I love my wife and we have the most wonderful time together….the way God intended.

I blame man for his problems. When he will start to solve his problems, look at the world in positive visions, then he will notice a difference in the women around him. Both man and woman are equal, but both have different roles to play in life, and when either do not live up their obligations, then both will suffer.

      • Rose

Man is the head of his family; they are givers and woman are receivers. As I heard once, “If you give a woman a house, she will make you a home.” When a man gives his sperm to a woman she will give him a child. Only God can make true men and women. His word tells us our positions in the family. He also, speaks about our attitutes and the best way that it should be.
God bless you brother that you have learn what it is to be a man and husband, who appreciates and repect women.

        • Mslee

I agree….this is whats needed in this world today. When we reject the love of our Father we reject the relationship & wisdom that comes with it. GOD created us, the institution of marriage & the family. It will only work the way he designed it to. There can be no deviations from it. When we deviate we make mistakes which is why we are in the state we are in now. I will no longer acceptless from a man. I sought God when I wanted to continue to love my ex. God showed me how to love a man & what my role is in the family. I have accepted and embraced that role because that is what I am created to be. Now I will be still from relationships until my husband finds me. The Word says that He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. It say nothing about She who finds a husband. I know now that I dont have to search for it in order to be able to see it when it arrives. To God be the Glory

    • Joyce Pope

STRANGER AND STRANGER – Why should Sista’s wait for someone to heal them, that is an individual job. No one can fix what is wrong with the African American population but each individual within our group. Sista’s stop being angry over sh## that can’t be changed – get real about what can be changed. When you find a “GOOD” Black man don’t mistreat him and he won’t mistreat you. Also don’t make it hard for those of us who are looking that good man. When you marry a good one and you abuse him simply because you can, here is what happens. That man is scarred and becomes afraid of committment – that’s when we get men who don’t stick around, we get those that don’t want a committment so when they do find a good Black woman they can’t recognize us because of the damage that has been done by “WHO” – “YOU WHO DECIDE THAT I CAN TREAT THAT MAN ANYWAY I WANT”. Stop making it hard – look to yourselves.

    • will

Man, shut the f**k with the drivel already. Thats the same s**t Ive heard for years. When will black women stop playing the Blame Game?

    • Shane

Black women made the choice to raise children alone. Blk women make choices just like everyone else, they need to accept responsibility for those choices. No group of men is going to protect” blk women, that’s the job for the SPECIAL man in her life, if she has such a man. It is not the responsibility oF BM to make these women feel “worth while”, that’s the woman herself who has the responsibility, that’s why it’s called SELF-ESTEEM. BW are being ridiculed for their behavior and their attitudes. It’s sad that you actually think BW arE above being ridiculed. People who act like idiots or who display negative behavior and attitudes tend to get r5idiculed. If anything, the ridicule BW are getting is long over due. A major problem is that BW have been given a free pass for too long and things have gotten out of hands with them.

    • carol c

      finally some sense.

  4. eric

Here it is again. Racial self hatred. One man says something, many women state all black men are the same. I’m offended by both sides. The reason we have the issues we do are two fold. The first is choiceReally are all black men and women bad. No some are. But the women who are single parents chose the fathers. Why are they single parents. And if your baby momma gets on your nerves, well dude, you decided not to protect yourself from the pregnancy. The second issue is, dirty laundry. We need to stop attacking each other in public, let’s leave our businessin the house. That way others can’t attack us. And as an aside, we need to stop watching basketball wives, chrissy and Mr Jones and other shows which perpetuate the stereotypes.

    • Jason McKay

I agree, but we must also acknowledge one more thing. Some black women are angry, unnecessarily combative and aggressive and devoid of conscious or compromise. They will tell you they are always the victims when the truth is many of them have screwed over many a man and are not ashamed of it. Why would someone whose been married as long as D.L. have these feelings? Why would he voice them? Maybe because this is what he sees and he isn’t the only one. Unable to navigate a relationship with what they keep saying they want, a good man, when they get one. They end up trying to control every encounter and situation because they have no idea what being a good woman is about. Some are quick to tell you what they want, but will give only as long as it takes to get it. They are broken on so many levels and it all happened before you showed up.

      • Chiniquy

I agree with you 100% Jason. And I have been married to a woman of African descent for over 30 years. This society has been playing a serious mind game with women of African descent since the days of slavery. As one of our great leaders said, “black women don’t belong to ‘black’ men, they belong to ‘white’ men.” When a woman imitates the beauty standards of another race, then the men of the other race is who they are trying to please. They will never be happy with a man of their own race.

        • kookie

It seems that it is not the Black women who have a problem with the issues of Black beauty. I have no problem with people marrying whomever they love. However, there is a problem when you hear people stating, “I will only date a Black woman if she is light complexioned and has long hair.” I have heard this especially from those males who are dark skinned. The true issue of self-hate is these Black males who constantly talk very badly about Black women who do not fit those stereotypical concepts of beauty(light skinned, long hair-fake or real, green eyes/blue-fake or real). Don’t you think that the women who are doing ridiculous things such as lightening their skin and wearing these ridiculous weaves and contact lenses are trying to catch the attention of these “Lost and Confused” Black males who have no concept of self.

          • JETYOU

THATS NOT TRUE,A LOT OF BLACK WOMEN HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR BEAUTY JUSTIFIED
THROUGH THEIR RACIST ACTS TOWARD OTHER WOMEN OF OTHER RACES.SAY FOR AN EXAMPLE YOU ARE ON THE BUS,AND 5 WHITE WOMEN GET ON THE BUS WITH AFROS.THE
FIRST THING BLACKWOMEN WOULD SAY IS THE WHITE WOMEN IS BEING RACIST,BUT
BLACKWOMEN HAVE THE NERVE TO WALK AROUND WITH OTHER WOMEN IMAGES THAT MOCK THEIR HAIRSTYLES.
NOW WHO IS THE RACIST,AND BY THE WAY ,YOU CANT JUST KEEP PUTTING THAT WHITE IMAGE IN A BLACKBOY,AND BLACKMAN FACE AN EXPECT HIM NOT TO THINK ABOUT BEING WITH A WHITE GIRL.SO MANY OF YOU CARRY A WHOPPED SIDED NARROW MINDED HYPOCRITAL VIEW THAT
ONLY REFLECT A ONE SIDED SELFISH POINT OF VIEW.

          • For...

Even therapy doesn’t work .. when the person insist on ‘ living in the past’.. .

      • Theo

Jason, you are perpetuating the BS! How about some SMARTS! When something is as heated as this issue is, it is time for both sides to go to the corner and take a “think” break!

      • @Jason Have you heard the other comments this DL FOOL has said about Black women??? I don’t think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • AJ

Eric I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an angry black woman and you just stated all of the reasons why.

    • Theo

Say that again, Eric!!! I am tired of this public, self humiliation myself. What the Black race needs in both genders is a lot more love, respect, decency, loyalty and understanding! A touch of smarts would not hurt either.

  5. Lee

Black women are because of the same reason that black men are angry. It is basically the injustice of America. They that we are seen as makes and females. The fact that we are still seen as a slave race. And no matter our accomplishments. We are still considered to be n****s. Simply put. If you know your history you will find a lot of answers.

    • Hereitis

      Lee,

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately, the injustices bestowed upon us by others, we in turn inflict on one another. I am not advocating mistreatment of anyone by anyone; however we have black on black crime, neighborhoods infested with drugs and poverty, children fatherless and motherless, illiteracy, priorities out of line with what is necessary, etc. I get angry when I look at what has happened to us as some continue to spiral down to nowhere – and those who try to rise are hit with racism and gender bias’ from all around. And then…..in steps a DL Hughley.

One who has made his money on the backs of African Americans cussing, hissing, and spouting all types of mess and he has the audacity to say that black women are angry. He has contributed to some of the negative stereotypes associated with us as women, and blacks overall. Grant it, he probably wouldn’t have made it where he is w/o doing what he did – but nevertheless – he did it.

I truly respect his right to feel as he does and say it……..but I believe we are NOT angry enough. What is needed is for us to truly organize constuctively and establish a base where we can be taken seriously. That means some extreme changes will have to take place but so be it.

WE can do this. We demonstrated the dignity and class that we possess when our President Barack Obama was elected, now it is time for us to make a greater stance. One other than simply declaring the obvious…that we are angry.

In closing, after I have jumped all over the place, we can be angry about some things, but completely happy and confident. That comes with knowing who we are, and realizing that we can rise above any circumstance – with Jesus!

    • Cyber Surfer

Thank you Lee!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXXO And there is sooo many more reasons why! All of ya’ll really need to STOP the blame game!

  6. 2muchmouth

I love DL Hughley as a comedian and a political guru… but his remarks here are way off the mark. I am deeply offended by his commments that all black women are angry. The same could be said about black men. But since I am a black woman, thus I must defend my “group”. Since the beginning of this country, we have been treated as less than nothing… we were raped in slavery; families destroyed and children ripped from our arms, our husbands were beaten and killed. And now… 21st century; even with having a black president and I love my president; the majority of black men are either gay, in prison, or dead. A woman, including a black woman, needs to be loved, supported and protected. We don’t have that. Our black men, can’t get or keep a job due to whatever circumstances. The lucky ones, that do become successful; that are able to make a living; make a life, usually tend to spend it with non black woman. And no, I don’t “hate” on mixed relationships; I’m just stating the facts. The majority of black women are single mothers; head of household, raising another generation of fatherless children because the men don’t know, can’t sustain, can’t deal with being a husband and father on a full time basis. Black women are left alone. We deserve the same love, repsect, support, protection and admiration as our white counterparts; but we rarely receive it. I’m not sure if DL really believes what he is saying; or if he says some of the things he says because it brings him attention; sustains his career to critize black women publicly. Amazingly so since he has black women as a mother, wife and daughter. It is embarrassing and hurtful that black men continue to ridicule black women publicly and I’m tired of always being labeled as the angry black woman. But if this is the case, we have every d**n right to be.

    • Historically I believe your facts are correct. You my dear have said a mouthfull.

    • You are so wrong, on so many accounts @much mouth!! Here are the facts: while women were fighting side by side for equal rights, black women were given the head of the household! Next, the majority of black men are not gay! A lot of black women are, and with children! You need to read Willie Lynch, because to an educated person, you sound uneducated! Black women are raising the children, so they should take responsibility for what they have done! You black women will keep the children and use them to get money and child support, and then say the child has to have food and lights!!!? Really? When did child support mean paying your bills and buying food? Newsflash….. if the man can pay his bills, support his child, buy his own food, without mom’s help, she might wanna consider going to court to give up custody, instead of trying to get child support and use it for mom support!!!!

      • T

        Timothy,
You, my friend, are ignorant on so many levels.
        ~ How sad………

      • lareen-ucanlearn

        Hi
You are right, I know of a article that says just what you have. I will find it and post it for you to share.

      • Byrd

You should stop commenting, seriously. You sounding like a frantic, raging, child with bad grammar. Stop it.

      • Gerri

Men like you make Black women mad. You’re merely ignorant and are emotionally damaged.

      • Theo

@Timothy. Sorry my friend, but that is the penalty for being young and dumb! I have never had a child out of wedlock. I taught my son to avoid the child support issue. Neither has he had a child out of wedlock. Far too many men feel that it is “hip” to be a “baby daddy”. For all of you out there b******g about your child support, “YOU GITS NO SYMPATHY HERE”! You should have thought of that before you made the decision to leave a woman saddled with raising a baby on her own just so you could have a “title”. Well, “baby daddy”s pay child support!

      • Mslee

Whoa bruh!!! You messing with the wrong kind of females if this is happening to you. I hate it if it is.not all of us do that just like not all of you are deadbeats.

    • Phil

You’d better check your fact 2muchmouth and stop parroting racist rhetoric. The majority of black men ate not gay, in prison, or dead and neither you nor anyone else has data to prove this is so. Wake us all when you actually know the “black” truth.

    • 2muchmouth you are on point. We have to look at the effects of SLAVERY to understand WHY we are in this condition today. The past plays a key role in how we deal with one another. THE WILLIE LYNCH LETTER is a must read by DL Hughley and the entire Afrikan family. Until we see the damage of a PLAN executed by those who enslaved us we will always be at odds with one another. We as the Black family are VICTIMS of the most vicious crime ever committed on the HUMAN RACE to date. I love Black women and can understand the issues she faces day in and day out. We were and are the other race to never have a doctor to help us deal with our mental or spiritual issues created over a 400 year period up to this date of writing. There’s no other woman on the planet that had to deal with the length of time of being USED in every degraded way the “mind” can think of than you my sister. I do understand and have your back. Peace!

    • Wow, I thought you were on the right track until you turned generalizations into fact. If you have every d**n right to be angry, you are basically in agreement with D.L. Many blacks male and female are left alone, and as much as I don’t like much of what D.L. said. I am for solutions not continued denigration of our race. My mother lived a lot harder life than most black women of today but she was kind, loving, caring and gave suggestions about how to improve not a bunch of BS believed to be facts.

      • I did say WE are VICTIMS which means that some brothers act like fools and don’t always do the right thing. We all need to give back the SLAVE MASTERS religion which plays a major role in how WE deal with one another. We as men somethings find it very easy to blame the woman for what’s not right at home/society missing the fact that there’s a SYSTEM in place to keep us at odds with one another. It is for this reason I recommended the reading of the WILLIE LYNCH LETTER. I also would recommend the reading of “The Miseducation of the Negro” by Dr. Carter G. Woodson and “Stolen Legacy” by G.M. James. These two books will shed light on why people such as D.L. make statements like that. He’s a VICTIM of mental death and power.

    • lareen-ucanlearn

I agree with you. I also think you should contact his manager and say what you said here in case he does not read the post. He may be speaking about his experiences. He should not label the whole group of African American women.

    • Bernard

      @ too much mouth,

Black women choose who they are going to be with. No one puts a gun to their head. With all of where you say “most” black men are(dead, gay or in prison), here are women’s most important things to know about a man before dating him in no particular order. They want to know if he’s 6’0 tall. They want to know if he’s dark skin. They want to know what kind of job he has….and many sistas only want him if every other sista wants him. So I don’t agree with DL putting it all out there for the world like he did, but the reality is sistas have some issues. Many of them do stay pi$$ed off. I honestly think sisters need to stop and think. If a man that is already married for some 28 years will say that, is there any truth in it. What do single brothers think? Many single bros aren’t going to bring that up for fear of having to argue and can’t enjoy the date they may be on…A married guy will tell you the truth…he’s not trying to gain anything from you. I agree with some of what he says. I don’t know if I would agree about them being the meanest “group”…but they do stay pretty pi$$ed and that’s “many” of them…not all but many do have a nasty attitude and the fact that the last 3 men that you dated f’ked you over isn’t a reason for you to treat the next one bad. Maybe you need to rethink your wants versus your needs when you are choosing a man.

    • Shane

He didn’t say all black women were angry. He was generalizing and in the general terms he is correct. There is something cultural that causes many black American women to have anger issue. You are offended because I suspect you know it’s true generally.

It it doesn’t apply let it fly.

    • Mslee

You can never have 2muchmouth when you make thatmuchsense….lol!!!! I love it!! You spoke volumes & told the truth without being negative….much love!!!!

    • AND, you Black women need to wake up and realize that you don’t have to put up with this c**p from Black men!! Putting up with all this racist c**p on the job from White ladies (which Black men are unaware of) and the c**p from White men too; I have to say that Black women have to get their act together. FORGET ABOUUT THOSE BLACK MALE SLAVES!!!!!!!! Take that $100 million dollars that you are giving to Steve Harvey and Tyler Perry and set up your own self help organizations to help yourself and YOUR DAUGHTERS!!!

As is, Black women, you are a sad mentally manipulated SLAVE bunch!!!

    • Jay Valentine

Both men and women have some valid points as it relates to this issue. However, THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE RULES THE WORLD. The men that would be the best fathers for children and provide the most stable households are not very appealing to Black Women. The guy that these women complain about is the one she seems to always gravitate towards. I would go one step further and say that since the feminist movement and proliferation of welfare, women (Especially Black women, facing racism AND poverty), have been heading more and more households. Our Grandmothers didn’t know the meaning of the word divorce (or single motherhood). One day her daughter got brainwashed about women’s lib, and her mate has been an adversary ever since. It started with taking the welfare, and the man hiding his possessions when the social worker came to visit, to him moving out, to him not marrying her in the first place. Eventually, men became little more than breeders, so the qualities that make for the best long term mate became less important. All she needs is her and her kids, cause she’s independent (at least she likes to believe).

The women that are willing to try to work with relationships wants you to repair the damages other men in the past have done, or want you to replicate the spoiled little brat princess treatment her guilty father gave her. Then there are those women that expect that God will put a man in their lives without them doing anything to make themselves a better catch. Very few women that are humble, in shape, educated, spiritual, and likeable have problems meeting men. Matter of fact she KNOWS she has options, AND THAT’S HER PROBLEM!!! She can’t make up her mind because she thinks she can always do better than what she currently has, so she’s always open for a new suitor. Arguments, and lapses in the level of attention the constantly needs are catalysts for her to start checking out of relationships.

With the average women in the dating pool being a single mother and with the single mother being in low demand by men in the dating pool, it becomes more important to prevent getting pregnant by a man that doesn’t have 30, 40, 50 year potential. A woman’s chances of finding the best mate dwindle DRAMATICALLY when she has a child. This angers single mothers, though most wouldn’t admit it…

The fact that being a baby mama is not the shameful act it used to be made women less determined to pick good mates. The “James Evans” of today can’t stay married because his wife wants to leave because his job doesn’t pay enough and she in turn raises children that are less marriageable (There are DISTINCT differences between children raised by single mothers and those raised in two parent households). Before welfare and Feminism, black women didn’t think their roles in the house were messed up, nor did they think their men were oppressing them. For the most part they weren’t. Now her man isn’t good enough and she can do bad all by herself…

  7. Rob

It should be known that the feminine rights movement, and sell out so called black leaders phucked black women royally. First off the premise that a black man held you down is historically nonfactual given woman always had high regard in African culture. Also how could a American black man hold you down when he could not even hold on to you as his wife? True Story follows: I have been in my current relationship for nine years. My sons mother who is living a alternative lifestyle for seven years has been through 6 relationships in the same period, funny!! And she tells me that I am beating my girl and making her stay with me, we get huge laughs out of that one. She told me once that her first girlfriend told her I was lame, then replied “the lame one is the one who turned out to have a career”. I guess her first girl got the best of her considering she told me out of her own mouth she had battered woman syndrome from that female. I think we need to teach the girls how to choose the right young men to love. Because currently they are choosing the lease likely male to stay around to be with. Then they are fighting each other tooth and nail for the same guy who is going to sleep with them all, then they will say it’s the men. Nah it’s them thugs you love ladies. Go to any high school or college campus with a rapper that calls females derogatory names and a normal dude working to build his life and future and the females will flock to the thug 10 times out of ten. They need to be angry at themselves.

  8. Heavy Jersey J

I disagree, but Freedom of Speech trumps. For me, Black Women are God’s gift to mankind. No,women in history have shown more strength.

    • T

      Thank you Heavy Jersey J!

Many people have no idea how such a simple statement validates all the positive things we have accomplished and all that we have experienced.

      Again,
      Thank you………

  9. S.T.S

D.L’s statements are very said. Maybe he needs to sit down with black women of different age groups and find out why they are angry.

    • Chiniquy

Angry, because after trying so hard for over 100 years to look like and behave like Caucasian women, they are still treated as members of the African race.

      • ujunwa

Mr. Chiniguy seriously you are beginning to sound like a 6 year old. If it kills you that your wife wears a weave please be man enuf to tell her to stop spending money on wearing a weave and quit using this blog as a safe heaven to display your stupidity and foolishness. If you can’t stand up to your wife please be kind enough to sit on whichever hand you are typing with or better still chop it off. Think of something educating to write and stop letting us know you are a pre-school drop out.

    • lareen-ucanlearn

      Hi

I agree with you. I am a Licensed Educator and one thing I have learned is people are different in terms of many things. To group people is not the way.

    • Shane

DL’s statement was very true. He doesn’t need to find out why they are angry. Black women themselves need to find out why they are angry and address those issue. If they opt not to then they will just see more of us in society rejecting them and simply not dealing with them. BW are the ones with the problem, it’s for them to address them, it’s not up to us to do it for them.

  10. Miss Higgi

And with one interview, DL reduced himself to JUST a comedian…

  11. tiamete

The man is not funny and clearly has too much time on his hands. Just trying to drum up some interest. I am way too busy tring to survive and be the best person I can be to get distracted by this kind of nonsense that keeps coming around. Leave it to an ignorant man to try and divide black men and women again. Real people will not go for this.

  12. Valerie Lunsford-Winbush

I am an African-American woman and proud of it – always have been and always will be. I am so sick and tired of black women being stereotyped as angry among other negative things. Anger is an emotion that EVERYONE feels sometimes. It has absolutely nothing to do with ethnicity or gender. Evidently, D.L. Hughley has made such an offensive, unfair, inaccurate, biased, ignorant generalization because he surrounds himself with negative individuals.

    • H. J. Roseau

I agree completely! Anger is an emotion that is shared by the entire human race; it is not restricted to one targeted racial and/or ethnic group. In fact, I would go as far as pointing out that anger is shared by the entire animal kingdom, which includes the human race.

  13. Maurice

    DL keeps it real again…

    • For...

      Yeah, Real Stupid….

      • Shane

The fact that you van personally attack and fling insults about him suggests his remarks really hit home. If you can’t debate his point and the only thing you can do is offer childish insults, well then n that case, he’s proven his point is valid. The problem black women havE with stereotypes is that too many BW actually reinforce those stereotypes, so much to the point that many of them become mostly true ( ex. The fat BW stereotype and BW/b*****d child stereotypes are mostly true).

  14. Yolanda

Wow here we go again…another brother putting us down even his daughter. Hey Sista since we are so angry we will stop supporting dl let him c where is bread was buttered. How could he say tht while raising 2 black women and being married to one. Self hatred there is so much more he could b discussing like the crime against us and how we can change it. But he chose put his own down. Wow his ignorant and since my daughter and I are angry nothing tht he can put out we will support. Black women lets stand up to all tht put us down even our own

  15. D. WATKINS

Was he on crack at the time he made those comments ? Is he suffering from a serious case of bi-polar ? Is he experiencing a severe case of self hatred?

BLACK WOMEN EVERYWHERE……..BOYCOTT THIS SEXIST FOOL…NO MORE WILL WE PURCHASE TICKETS TO YOUR SHOWS…CUZ YOU IGNORANT !

    • I think all of you ladies just made D.L’s point! He wasn’t lying at all! Listen to your responses! A lady is gonna be a lady no matter what! Y’all just proved him right!

    • the black woman is strong, kind, loving and usually the head of her household, do not trash her because you are putting your mother, wife, and daughters down. You must really hate yourself, I will pray for you! You need help, God bless you!

    • Virginia

No one supports the black man more than the black woman, but they are always finding ways to put us down. Lets stop supporting the DL Hughleys who think we are angry. Lets do it with love and see where they get without us “angry” black women. Every women in DL’s life is black…mother, wife, daughter’s, aunts and perhaps sisters. Don’t judge me by the women you know. You can not generalize with such a statement. DL does not know every black woman, he certainly does not know me.

    • Jane

      @ D. Watkins

      I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Bernard

Boycott? For speaking his mind? Check this out. R. Kelly is cleary on tape boning young girls, but if he showed up in any city tomorrow, not only would the concert sale out pretty quickly, there would be all kinds of panties thrown on the stage. So you are for boycotting DL but I didn’t hear or see one Black woman say anything about boycotting R. Kelly…and then you wonder why sistas are in the state they are in.

  16. Chiniquy

    • Chiniquy is teaching y’all something!! My mom told me these same things about black women, oh yes, she’s black!!!

      • The only thing he is teaching is foolness. Most of my Sista’s are holding it down. We as a people need to move pass dissin each other and try to communcate with each other for the common goal of uplifting our people. But one thing I must add is my young Brotha need to take a tip from the Sista and stay in school so we can start running our own communities. GO HBCU!!!!!

  17. jackson

DL on black Women, Chris Rock on old Black men don’t the joke out of content. I see angry people everyday
old white men and young white men, old black men and young black men, the women too. I m becoming one
so I can get the respect due me. I try hard to be nice and that when people show you their a*s side thinking this fool is soft. That when I got to show my hard side .

  18. Chiniquy

The whole world has proclaimed (through their mental enslavement) that the Caucasians are the most beautiful race. Whenever there is a world beauty contest the only time a woman of color can compete or even win is based upon how close she resembles a Caucasian woman. Women of African descent must stop making excuses for their slavish imitation of the beauty standards of Caucasian woman. Show some strength and be proud of the natural beauty that G-D has given to all women regardless of their ethnic group. The appreciation from men of their own ethnic group will not happen instantly, but a woman who knows why she is not imitating the beauty standards others will not give a d**n what any man thinks about her appearance.Stop wearing weaves, or straightening your hair, or wearing long haired wigs. Make your sons proud of you and proud of their African heritage.

    • lareen-ucanlearn

      Hello Moderator Chiniquy

I want to help you about the hair statement. Longtime history records have proven that Black and White both like diversity and it is the reason for hair styles. I went to a high school where not one black wore any attachments or wigs. I never saw this until I lived near a community with a variety of groups.

According to an article produced by health advisors, African American ancestors considered the hair of black people the epitome of beauty, it was faithfully cared for and decorated in many different styles that were often considered works of art (Morrow 1984) In addition to being a source of pride for its beauty, hair also had protective functions. Often referred to as kinky, wooly, tightly curled hair served as a natural protection against the equatorial sun and heat. For centuries blacks knew of no other skin color or type of hair. Black skin, curly hair, nose type and lips were regarded as elements of beauty (Morrow,1984).

As a result of the colonial trade, the persons brought to America as slaves experienced a significant change in their values and beliefs about what constituted beauty. When they were separated from their culture and lifestyle, which placed a significance on grooming, the slaves had difficulty maintaining their hair. When they were put on ships, their hair was either shaved or left in its natural form, they had no combs or opportunities for personal grooming. They often covered their hair with cloth to protect it from insects and to hide its unsightly appearance (Morrow, 1984).

Being exposed to Europeans, the Africans began to experiment with their hair. They equated differences. The experimented with lye, irons, animal oil and hot combs. They had to go through this while missing their original upkeep of hair in African. Permanents are used to uncurl the curly hair. Because the African American genetic pool includes Africans, Europeans and Native Americans, a wide range of hair texture is found among African Americans with wooly, kinky, wavy and straight. (Morrow,1984).

During the 1960′s, the civil rights movement had positive outcomes. This time was for changing the European standards with the re-invent of black hairstyles. African Americans realized their hair had advantages. Black hair can be styled in many ways, including cornrows, braids, extensions, and curly or straight styles.

Lastly, the current on African American women, in 2012 women are like technology. They just keep progressing. And they are adapting. They have observed and overcome.

Chiniquy, I am reading your post for the first time. You do have some good things to impart. I hope I can continue to visit as this is my first time.

      • Theo

Hats off to chiniguy and lareen-ucanlearn! Great show of study and education lareen. I hope everybody reads you guy’s posts. Too much dumb stupid “shtuff” being discussed! Your posts are great for a change!

  19. Miss T

We all know signs his paychecks and it is unfathomable to think that angry, lynch mob, hate mongering white men would be angrier than Black women. He knows any other opinion may lead to castration and/or have him hanging from a tree.

  20. sadsack

Its disheartening to think that you castrate your own in this trying time. Remember not to long ago you blackmen were slaves, is it insecurity DL because we suffered right along beside you, when you were beaten we were raped, when you were sent away we had to endure atroscities you can’t imagine and also hold the family together. Now its a new day and you have achieved just a little that the white man want you to and now even you brothers are belittling your black women. I call this the “Lost Generation” for truly you have no clue.

  21. Tracey

He’s not funny and ignorant to boot. Angry comes in all races and genders. Are some black women angry, of course as are some black men! But as the Kings of Comedy proved…he is definitely the lowest man on the totem pole…trying to stay relevant bashing others. Any half way intelligent individual knows that you can’t make generalizations about “all” of anything and be credible. He’s not credible and NOT FUNNY!!!

  22. Brenda

Black Women have natural enemies…we have to have our poker face on so we won’t seem to vulnerable and we have to be witty and have the physical ability to run zigzag style down the street just in case the Brother Man or the other man decides to use us as target practice!…for real we are angry after being told what were not, setup set back and told to sit and were angry! We get what Black Men except we have a v****a….and we are angry!…ha ha ha!

  23. Lucille

    DL said:

“…you either are in charge or they’re in charge, so there’s no kind of day that you get to rest”

It sounds like it is all about power. — power to insult, power to dominate, power to walk over… Black men who insult and stereotype Black women in the media do it because society allows them to get away with it. They can’t publicly say such things about white women, but most of all about white MEN who, usually, DO HAVE the power to block them from either getting or keeping whatever they want to have. If the desire is to control and dominate, then the ones who block Black men from walking around dominating the entire universe, wherever they find themselves is not Black women, but White men. So, why not “hit” the White man? I think that is at the root of this. Black women become substitute targets. This exacerbates the problem because picking on the women of one’s race is a cowardly enterprise.

We seem to be the only ethnic group doing this. You don’t find Jews, Japanese, Koreans, Hispanics, Italians, Germans… no other group attacking their women under the guise of “free speech” — only us… due to the negative legacy of slavery. This is especially ugly when Black men with money and media space use it to carry out this cowardly “unmanly” enterprise. Shame, Shame, Shame!!

    • Lucille, no other race of woman high fives each other for being single mothers, no other race says “I don’t need no man”? What other race of women thinks that they can raise boys to be men, what other race of women allow their little girls to dress like women, what other race of woman wears everything but her real hair, nails, eyelashes, revealing all their skin, loud, mouthy, etc? Black women, that’s who!!!

      • Nicole

Timothy, you are either highly delusional, or you live under a rock. There are single mothers of ALL races, check the statistics. Second, black girls are some of the most modest girls around. I am a product of PRIVATE schools. My daughter is in one right now. In spite of the fact that it is for highly gifted children, yes 97% white, on free dress day, you’d think some of them were getting paid to show their bellies and thighs. I am constantly having to explain to my daughter why her white friends get to wear certain clothes, string bikinis, make-up, feathers in their hair, etc., and she cannot.

Go into ANY community and you’ll see kids of all ages dressed inappropriately. Maybe it’s because I grew up in an affluent part of LA that I know your comments are self-hating BS. The entire entertainment industry is full of white women with weaves. White teen girls have turned clip-ons and weaves into mainstream! They get their nails done, eyelashes, etc. They just pay a h**l of a lot more for it.

Where is the rock you live under located, the South Side of Chicago?

The only self-hating people I ever meet are those who were NEVER exposed to other races. Well, turn on the TV then, there’s Honey Boo Boo, Redneck Wedding, Bridezillas, Bad Girls Club, Real Housewives of OC, Jersey Shore, Dr. Drew Rehab, Couples Therapy..etc. There are messed up people of ALL RACES! Stop the self-hate!

        • Jay

          Wow Nicole, you nailed it.

I have the same type conversations with my 8-yr. old daughter, so the words “appropriate” and “inappropriate” are in heavy rotation in our household. Not only in regards to how a young lady is supposed to dress, but, more importantly, how she talks, how she handles her emotions, and how she handles her business.

This c**p on TV about Honey Booboo and all the rest of it is nothing but a class war. Today, popular entertainment is sitting around and laughing at people who are so thirsty for money and fame that they will demean themselves and their families on TV. Being in LA, you know this much better than I ever could. Basketball Wives are not even married to ball players, and even if they are, why do we care? Why do athletes and entertainers dictate social mores for our culture? Everything is backwards.

        • FelishaC

          Thank you Nicole!!!

        • lareen-ucanlearn

          Hi

Lucille, I am a Licensed Educator and for Timothy Greer to group all African American women just like Mr. Hughley is not good. Mr Greer has not had a wide amount of exposure so he relegates himself to the experiences he has seen are had personal experience.

As far a a women wearing her hair a certain way, it is a her right to do it. Black and White women both like diversity with hair. As you said above the entertainment field is filled with white women again with diverse hairstyles. Thank you for your personal input. See Chiniquy reply from me for Oct 31, 2012 @ 12:57 PM. The system here will not allow me to re-post my statement.

      • T

        To Timothy Greer,

It is better to be thought of as a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

        Please,
        Shut your mouth, NOW!!!!!!!!

    • Shane

Black women stereotype themselves. Most of the negative images of black women in the media comes from black women themselves. Instead of making things up the media just started holding a mirror to black women. I probably record several negative acts by BW every week and post them on YouTube. That’s not me making up a stereotype, those are black women REINFORCING NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES

  24. nell

Why does any one take anything this mental midget has to say seriously? He showed his low level of intellect with the buffoon news show that was quickly canceled.

  25. PinkRose

I’m a Black woman who isn’t angry at all with DL’s comments at all because he isn’t talking about me or the many other Black women I know.

What he’s saying ONLY applies to you if you BELIEVE it does!!

  26. amyee81

For a long time I thought all black men didn’t like black women. I felt the whole world viewed us as the lowest form of life on this planet. In time I realized everyone doesn’t think like that. I do think a lot of younger generation black males are more open to dating and procreating with other races of females because it’s a “hot” thing to do. D.L. DUMMY is entitled to his opinion indeed.I am not an angry black female, but his remarks make me a sad one. I feel bad for his daughters because they will always feel like they have to censor their emotions because they may not want to perpetuate a stereotype. I wonder if a woman would have said all black men are.lazy, manipulative, drug dealers only good for.making babies and no wives how would people react. Black men and black women have got to stop doing this to each other. Especially publicly…some ppl sit back a relish this behavior.

    • Chiniquy

I agree. His comment should have been private.

    • lareen-ucanlearn

Hi Amy, I am a Licensed Educator and you are right with your words. My male relative had social experience with girls his age while attending high school and college and the party scene. He worked in the sports and entertainment section of town as a young business. Some males are attracted to certain women and that is their preference. My male relative met his lady when he was a teen and they both kept in touch but later experienced dating. He has met girls in class from all groups and still preferred a African American lady. Not for her physical looks but for other non materialistic ways.

Read my reply to Chiniquy for October 31, 2012 @ 12:57 PM. Also google Claude Anderson, he is very knowledgeable.

      • Alexis

One thing you should know, from one educator to another, that an educator is not licensed, they are certified. I am a certified educator and counselor. I am a licensed mental health therapist.

  27. joyblackbear@gmail.com

Can I just say that I am not angry. In fact I could not be happier. This is one of the best times in HISTORY to be both black and a women. I love my life and my career. Any many who feels like they cant date black women(for some supposed fear that they are more or less angrier than any other race) in MY opinion shouldn’t. There are plenty of men who will. That’s the honest truth.

This idea that black men don’t want or value black women to me is laughable. My parents were together 18 years my Mom and step-dad over 12 years. There are PLENTY of black men to not only love and support black women but believe in black love.

Just about every guy I know is looking for a black woman -black men and white men actually. And Ive set up a number of black women with white guys actually. Men are pretty much all the same. They are looking for their “Michelle”-white guys too. They want the complete package and they will date outside their race to get it.

In reference to DL Hugley he seems bitter or at the really least unhappy. Perhaps he married the wrong woman. I think he should consider divorce.

    • amyee81

You are right about divorce. I do think it’s a slap in the face to his wife. Some people don’t realize whether they like it or not, when you are a public figure and they represent their race, religion, etc in the eyes of some people. My thirteen year old son is sitting here next to me and I would never want him to think its ok to put all black women in this category or my 16 year old sister to.think all black men look at her like an angry black girl….it’s rather exhausting dealing with that type of small mindedness

      • DL does literally not mean that all Black sistas are always angry or kill-joys. He seem to be talking about the way most Black women express their emotions that makes them seem angry, complicated, selfish, hyper-reactionary,sophisticated, and at devine war with male world. There is not 100% of any situation for sure. He might be opining that the milder and more reasonable such sistas navigate thru relationship issues, the earlier we begin to have more progressively unified family system not a broken one. Generally one point is clear: To hate or low-rate one’s brother or sister is ignorancio elenchi of the greatest enormity!

  28. Be Still in The Midst of Storms

I wasn’t angry before, but now I am. There is no access to Far Rockaway, Queens. My mom is in a nursing home that can’t be reached. There are riots, looting, no power of any kind. I can’t reach any one…NO ONE. Cells are down. My house is parallel to the bay; I don’t know its condition nor my neighbors can be reached. 311 is not answering. No media coverage, they covered on Breezy Point/Rockaway Park (which is not predominately black).

I donot enjoy the fact that Far Rockaway was used as a “test site” for destruction. There are innocent people like myself, who are not rich nor even considered middle-class(somebodys gotta flip the burgers!) but we stil live decent lives.

I am a single mother of two teens and two younger children. I heart is heavy. We’re displaced to another location for we don’t know how much longer, and we’re down to $80 and the clothes on our backs.

I was in shock (without evidence of even seeing my own home but my town itself), I cried like a baby, I read my daily word (which coincidently is Lamenations 1 and forward; speaking of this event).

Weeks ago, I dreamed I had to protect my family from looters running through the neighborhood. I also dreamed that I was in raging water with one of my sons and God told me to BE STILL…and the water calmed until there wasn’t even a ripple. I had the preparation warnings TWICE this year. I thought that was to buy food and candles and stuff…BUT in the end I did not have to protect my family from looters, nor wade to water…because the preparation was simply to get out!

This storm had nothing to do with GOD—it was a man-made storm I saw long before its time. My wordpresses are “I Was Born Yesterday” and “Awakening Dreams”. Of course I write way more than I blog though.
But I’m still angry—I think. It isn’t natural for me to be angry so it’s hard for me to dwell there too long. Being angry doesn’t mean we have to act on it…like most emotions. We can recognize it for what it is and guide ourselves back into love. And I will. I had made plans to go to Ohio this coming week to campaign for President Obama—I guess not now.

Honestly, you know what I’d like to happen? I’d like for a person to hand me a check for $100,000 so I can relocate my family and start anew in a new little town. I’ve made a positive difference in so many lives…and I’m saying I deserve it. My two teens are students at Eagle Academy for Young Men…my 8 year old son..exceptional grades. My baby girl a smart little girl for her age.

Now I’m feeling grateful as of the end of this letter. My God is good, I know because my heart is…I didn’t want this storm but not enough people didn’t NOT want this storm—CONSCIOUSLY.

I usually go on some inspirating vibe, but today I simply want to pour this bag of troubles out less it burst with holes.

Thank you for “listening”. Bless and be blessed.

  29. Ros

I never cared for DL in the past and now I really know why, he won’t ever get my support as a comedian.

  30. NP

Self hatred, way to go DL.

  31. Shedrick Williams Sr

Mr. Huhgleys comments are a bit harsh. But at times factual. Black women will choose the thugs most of the time. I thought that it was age-related until I heard Mary J. make a song called Mr. Wrong. In this song she says that Bad guys are fun and good guys are not(paraphrasing). I see it in people I’m close to as well. I see that the older women want to DOMINATE and flex authority or equality over their husbands. Equivalent to two males flexing muscles. In the second generation of the same family I see the younger women having multiple kids for guys who either have no job or walk around with their pants below their butts. Let me say this MY MOM IS MY ROLE MODEL. Though true black women have been through alot, its DUE TO CHOICES THEY MADE. Hoe does the saying go 1st time shame on you, what about da 2nd, 3rd,4th,5th. Some women have a history or pattern of choosing no good no count brothas to tie their souls to. Soul ties are not easily broken. Some women are also passing these behaviors and think patterns to their daughters. Like the man said above TEACH DAUGHTERS HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MAN. I’m tired of reminding people that there are good brothas out there, he might not look like Denzel or Idris Elba. Dats your problem, just like men yall like eyecandy as well. Much in da same the younger women like sagging pants, locs, da loud one. I just heard about a murder in a small town where a 21 year old woman list her life, I’ll give you one guess what it was about. Until BOTH sides learn to do better and teach better this cycle will repeat itself. I also resent the statement made about black being treated as objects in the past. What past are you referring to? From my opinion families were much more close in those days because they were all each other had. I think that’s part of the problem now, there are too many choices making it easier to get off one and hop on another. I’m a black man and I LOVE ALL WOMEN BECAUSE GOD CREATED US IN HIS IMAGE. Love doesn’t see color or have a face. I think Satan is at fault for all these “preferences”, fine, fat, muscular, long hair, etc. We’re all attracted to the outter instead of the inner.

    • You right Shedrick. It is some(though most), but not all of them. I also agree with your diognosis. When any woman(has nothing to do with her racial backgroung)bears a contensious spirit she would be seeing men as inconsidrate arrogants, heady, not RESPECTFUL, no-listening bully. Men are not angels, make no mistake Budy. But if a woman is always contending one thing or another, trying to be Jane and Jimmy at same time, it cannot work not because of the man but in line with nature. Her only alternative remains: pants down, “respectful”, “caring”, say-nothing do-nothing,tolerate all, good for nothing hommy.

  32. ms tee

Its funny to me reading how this guy chiniguy stated that us black women try to look like white girls. Well if so why are they getting injections in their LIPS to make them bigger next breast implants b**t injection etc. So please stop saying negative things about black women wanting to look like white girls

    • ms tee, your question doesn’t make his false! Black women do do this! White women do what you said, but the difference is that white girls know beauty when they see it and black girls dont

      • ujunwa

Ok I believe you Timothy is a mental midget. You seriously read over what you wrote and it made perfect sense to you. It’s all good (and we wonder why black women are angry, when they are mad dimwits that think like you exist).

    • FelishaC

Thats right Ms. Tee. Full lips, silicone breast, b**t implants using motor oil and weave. White women have been sporting weaves for decades, this aint brand new. They just call their weave: extentions. I take offense to that individual who think black women are imitating the caucasion race. Thats bull…..if I died today or tomorrow and had a choice to come back I will be the beautiful black kinky haired chick that I am. I love me some me and so does my husband. I love being black, we are the coolest race of people and the most copied.

      • ms tee

Thank you felisha c its true and timothy is saying that they still see beauty if this is so true why do they do all that too their bodies. I’m with you I love me never want to be another race despite all the ignorance. The most hated race but everyone wants to act black got a few on the job.

  33. Be Still in The Midst of Storms

    I’m sorry that’s “LAMENTATIONS”. (grrr auto-correct)

  34. It all depends on environment. You cannot put label on all black women, in some cases there are many circumstances that cause (some) black women to be angry. Hugley, you painted black women with a broad (white)brush.Sometimes black women are so busy painting themselves as someone that they are not. Black women look in that mirror and say “thank you Lord, I was on the line when you were giving out every thing that is perfect, and I refuse to be angry.” Now. Go to church.

  35. TL

If you’ve been married for 26 years and haven’t figured out the person you’re with, it means you’re probably a bit self-centered, slow and unable to change and adapt. I know a LOT of Black women. They laugh, love life, feel pain and pressure, insecurity, show confidence…all in one day. Such a broad generalization is just really dangerous (because he has an audience) and says more about him as a person than it does about them.

And it seems like DL is stuck in the 90′s…I heard him last week or so talking about considering Black men an endangered species. There were brothas talking about that on, like, Phil Donahue back in 1991.

  36. Nedrea

All I have to say is this, I don’t see Hughley’s point because I hate black men. They have yet to grow up, pull their paints up, go to get an higher education, get jobs, own houses, respect women, go to the synagogue or the church, stop using idle language, learn to be professional, and act like they have some sense. I know the L-rd is still working on me with this hate issue, but even once he is done working that out, I’ll only see and speak to a black male, but I will still refuse to date or marry them because I still will see them as worthless, with the exception of those black males in my family and those very few (I can count them on my hand – only 4 of them)that I call a friend. I have yet to date because I have extremely high standards and black men will never meet them. So that’s MY OPINION.

    • Nedrea, you just made DL’s point! And you are wrong!!! Lmao. Let me know when you get that big polar issue worked out!! Lmao. Let me guess, you’re in your early 20′s, or a teenager?

      • Nedrea

Timothy, you are very ignorant. Just because I see completely different, does not mean that DL’s points of ignorance was proven.

I can also tell that you are black because the first thing you did was prove my point: you just made DL’s point! And you are wrong!!! LmaoLet me know when you get that big polar issue worked out!! Lmao. Let me guess, you’re in your early 20′s, or a teenager?

You used foul language, next you resorted to name calling because I view your species differently. Something else I noted, its okay for DL to be stupid with his comments and males jump on a bandwagon to bash women and stereotype and marginalize women, but when we speak and give you the other side of how men are viewed then the woman is bipolar, as you stated or maybe even a teenager, does any other woman here see the double standard of hypocrisy here???? This is part of the problem

      • Nedrea

Plus if you noted at the end, or cared to read with common sense, I said MY OPINION, that did not make what I said about black men fact. That’s what having an education allows you to do; think critically, yet see the opposing side of your argument, its called persuasion if you will; something I know how to use very well to demonstrate to you, that you don’t read or use comprehension.

    • Charles

Nedrea, you are a teenager? Right?lol

      • Nedrea

No! I am 30 years of age and have never dated because all I see from the Media and those in environments I have to be in are, are ignorant black males.

  37. Dj

Please stop stereotyping me D.L., Boyce and others. I do not walk around angry all day, although I have several reasons to do so. I am educated, professionally successful, smart, funny, beautiful and married for twenty years to a Black man who I love and who adores me. I am not sorry and pitiful, nor a rump shaker, nor any of the other stereotypes that are repeatedly lodged at Black women. I am really tired of the verbal attacks against us. I hear women on this blog say that they love D.L. and then moving to explain themselves. What is to love about this comedian? Not much. He was never funny to me, and he has shown himself consistently to be a bigot where women, and particularly Black women are concerned for some time. This is the first real press that he’s gotten in years and he expends it for this. Not very smart. Let’s move on. Much ado about nothing — seriously.

    • Nedrea

DJ, that is all he has so he is a comedian….he is something you look at and just laugh because he is a joke……………..

  38. herman yon

D.has a point am still don’t understand my wife. Am retired stay at home take of all house hold things cook, clean, wash, iron. And my wife still come home with her funky moves. Some black women are just f-up what else can a brother do. i pay my part in bills all my wife have to do is just come home take a shower i serve hand and foot and she still unhappy. So her past she still living in to me bad past.Am almost a the point leaving her.So they say were all the good brothers some black women don’t know a good man when they have one.

    • Elizabeth

herma yon, maybe you need to man up. Why would you let any human being treat you this way? You are not a slave, in a relationship you give and take, no one person should give or take all.

    • Nedrea

The same can be said indefinitely about black men…..

  39. Elizabeth

Well, life is short and I don’t have time to sit around and worry about how I am perceived by another human being (African-American MALES). I am not an angry woman and I have friends at work, homelife (neighbors), church etc. Some African-American males are told their women are angry so that is how they treat us. If you speak to one you get a mean look. They slam doors in your face, they use profanity in front of you, in stores if they are clerks they are short with you. I don’t have time to waste on rude and nasty people (men or women). D.L. Hughley’s comments are disgraceful, I guess he hates or dislikes his mom, aunts, sisters, grandmother. What a puss bucket of a human being…now let’s move on. Sisters, don’t waste your time on human beings unworthy of you. Don’t let them put you in a corner and tell people who you are, be YOU!

  40. Black Beautiful Woman Speak Out Against DL Hugley

Black Women Unite. Remember what Wesley Snipes said about black women and look his a*s is in prison. Please boycott DL Hugley. He needs to understand that the only thing that matters is green. If our attitudes are so bad, then we can show him better than we can tell him to Go Straight to HELLLLLLLL!

    • Jane

YES INDEED!!! Look at YouTube where he called us the ugliest women on the planet on the Tonight Show!!! We should have boycotted this fool long time ago!!!!!!!!!!

  41. Charles

I do not see why this is such a big deal. Men of all races have pet peeves about women. Women of all races have pet peeves about men. DL spoke about cultural attributes of black women. He has not rejected black women, he just doesn’t like certain things they do. He and the rest of us black men have had lifelong experience with black women, we do have valid opinions.

    • DONALD

Sho you right Charles. These viepoints don’t come out of vacuum. Remember Shahrazad Ali wrote a million seller.

    • Elizabeth

Charles, D.L. spoke on all African-American women which is unfair because I am sure he does not know ALL African-American women. I am so over what African-America men think of us. Life is short. I decided a while ago to just move on. I frankly got tired of the nastiness. An example, I attend a gym exercise class two days a week. Men and women of at least 4 ethnic races in our group. Who does not speak to AFRICAN-AMERICAN women in the group (the African-American male)? I am well liked and talk to all in the group (we all have a fun time) but this male ignores and turns up his nose at the women of color. He is so rude until he does not speak to the senior women of color, but he skins and grins at all “WHITES”, I just ignore him and honor those who are friendly. If an African-American woman just says Good Afternoon, he HUMS and HUMS and HUMS…LOL!

    • H. J. Roseau

Charles, I certainly would not claim anger as a “cultural attribute.” As Valerie Lunsford pointed out above, it is merely an emotion that is shared by all races and/or ethnic groups.

  42. Dr. Roni

I look forward to meeting Mr. Hughley so that he will be able to say that he has met at least one Black woman that is NOT ANGRY!! I am happy with my Blackness, my Faith, my marriage, my career, my friends and my life. I too, am saddened by Black women who refuse to let go of the past and embrace the joy that God will afford you if you look for the good in all people, including men. Strong and happy Black women work side by side with their men to encourage and support them to be all that they can be. The earler that we start to practice happiness and secure it for ourselve, the better. Happiness and joy must come from within, and if you are a miserable woman, you will attract the same. Let’s show our daughters how to attract and keep good, strong Black men.

  43. DONALD

I have always been trying to figure out, who deemed D.L. HUGHLEY a comedian in the first place?

  44. LarryJ

I am afraid of Black women……..And I do go out of my way to avoid contact with some of them at public places. They just seem to always be making trouble wherever they are…..I was surprise a week ago, when a young Black woman held the building front door open for me at my co-op complex, when I was pushing in my shopping cart. That just does not happen much here. And on the elevator in the mornings, I always get a “goodmorning” from a White neighbor but nothing from a Black neighbor……And at co-op Board Meetings, some Black women and a few men, cannot argue an issue without resorting to name calling and wanting to fight, etc,. maybe urban living is a factor in uncivility. And not one of my middle aged friends, is still married to their original wives. I use to wonder as a kid, why my mother, aunts and their girlfriends, did not have husbands or decent men in theirlives..??? And now, here I am, living that same cycle of loneliness, because I cannot deal with Black American Women. I recently became a member of “Afrointroductions” Where you can meet African Women and Black Women from Central and South America. And I am thinking about joining “Meet Filipina Women.COM” I do not know how this is going to workout, but,, I know I will be doing a lot of traveling this Winter……..

    • FelishaC

Wow that is sad and deep LarryJ that you have those experiences with black women. You have to equate their attitudes with their up bringing. Sound like you live in a not so great area. I live in a middle class neighborhood outside Houston where it is about 80% black. There are single and married black women and I find that majority of them are very pleasant. They have careers such as nurses, teachers, therapist, postal workers etc. They are jogging, taking the kids to activities. We all get along fine, but when I travel outside my jurisdiction there is anger and hostility. They are carrying anger because they chose the wrong mate, probably have different fathers for each kid, or they may have been violated as a kid. Many different things. But I find many black women and girls are angry. The only difference between me and them is that my anger is carried on the inside, I never let it show, but good luck.

    • Jane

      @LarryJ

I worked with this 40 year old Black man who is married to this Black Costa Rican woman. She and her family are still trying to “fix” this Black American man after all these years!!! Good luck to them!!

He won’t keep a job, and he’s always trying to find an American Black woman in the place of work and “mooch” off of her—can you lend money, etc. He’s so pathetic. I wouldn’t wish him on my worst enemy, let alone my other Black sisters.

Good luck to you. You don’t know, nor will you accept how messed up you are.

    • T

Larry, if you are willing to write off an entire race of women then you, my friend, are simply W-E-A-K…..
It takes time and to meet the right person, and that goes for men and women of every race, yet it appears that you feel you have given all you can at meeting a decent African American women because you now frequent dating sites of other cultures.
Now, being open to meeting women of other races is not bad, but completely disregarding women of your own race is. (I am assuming you are African American)
Larry, you need some help because what African American women don’t need is another W-E-A-K man.
~ Do some push-ups, put some base in your voice and quit crying…….

Though I agree that black woman are trying to obtain white characteritics I do not agree with why chiniquy is saying…at least not 100%…unfortunately most black americans are delusional. They are living with a slave mentality and don’t realize it. The level of self hate is the worst I’ve ever seen. Newsflash ladies perming your hair has the potential to kill u. You’ve seen good hair yet you continue to relax it and put 100% human hair in your head etc. And I don’t want to hear this nonsense abt everything can kill u. You make a choice to love yourself the way god made you own it and be content or to alter it until u like it. Alterations may be a sign of self hate but are def a sign of low self-esteem. This idea that we as african american woman hav to make our hair look like the white woman to get ahead in the corporate world is insane. So your telling me the hair I was born with that sits so perfectly on my head isn’t good enough to make it to the vice president seat at a company? I won’t accept it. I don’t consider myself an angry black woman. God blesses me day and night and I am eternally grateful. I spread as much joy as I can without getting on people’s nerves lol, but as far as the black woman being angry…she unfortunately thinks she has every right. She thinks the world owes her something. Life isn’t fair ppl are going to get treated differently for an entire host of reasons. What black women need to understand is that the world doesn’t owe them anything. Slavery sucked, oppression sucked, h**l being a single mother may financially suck! But the reality of the situation is if u r unhappy abt something u need to find a way to change it or change hw u think abt it! No one on the earth is here to save u from life. I can’t stand dl hugley never cud never will. He’s rude, he’s sexist, and he gets under my skin, but I respect him bc he says what is on his mind! Black women as a whole have been known as angry for years….going back to when they had to take care of the family because all the fathers were losing jobs or couldn’t find work or were off fighting a white mans war! Dying for the freedom of a country who has done nothing but find ways to keep him in prison and out of the voter box! But that’s another issue….black women are angry bc they have to raise children work their tails off and provide when that may not be what they signed up for. I get it. I just think that there’s more to life than being bitter. Don’t u see that that’s exactly what. They want? They take away black men by lockin them up makin them thnk hustlin is a lifestyle they shud want to live by misleading them wit terrible music and a buch of other things…brainwashing our men and leave the women to pick up the pieces…this is why black women are p****d. So I get it. I just also see that giving in and giving up is also what they want. And I choose life. I choose happiness…we r descendents of greatness…of african freakin royalty! I walk with my head held high. No other people no other genre no other race or generation refers to the women that created them, the women they sleep with, the women that are the mother to their children as the b word, but rappers think that’s alright. Its embarrassing. Then u have impressionable listeners thinkin its ok in real life and thts just another reason for blk women to b p****d…its a vicious cycle. We as an entire ppl need to open our eyes. We need to stick together and speak out. We need to b the change we want to see.

My comment to Mr.D.L. Ugly is you never hear white men talking all this negativity about their white women.I watched Mr. Ugly on tv the other night on the O’Reilly factor. He spoke with the brain his Mother gave him and I was quite impressed but now he’s speaking with the part of his brain that his father contributed. My advise to you Mr. Ugly is, take off those pants you have on and become the black woman you’ve always wanted to be and then you won’t have such negativity about the black women, you or Tyler Perry.

This is a reality check for many. Use your own mind and stop letting people think for you. A few months ago, DL Hughley was attacking Lupe Fiasco about some things he said about Obama and this page was gutted by Sistas waging war on Fiasco and many, judging from their comments didn’t even know Lupe nor what he said. Im a Black woman and Im not angry. However, I am disappointed that we keep playing into the stereotypes and our Black celebrity men thinks that these kind of attacks are funny. DL may have a Black wife but a growing number doesn’t. Something is Seriously wrong with that picture.

  48. Jay

DL can only speak to his experiences, and his wife should honestly be concerned because DL deals with her and their daughters on a daily basis. They must bust his chops quite a bit for him to feel that black women are angry in general. During my dating years (18-30) I encountered one angry black woman after another, but their anger was typically driven by some dude who had done them wrong. All of us need to make better choices in terms of who we allow into our lives and who we lay down with. Once a child is added to the equation you will be linked with that decision for the rest of your life.

  49. Cash

He ignorant and obvoously an idiot of grand proportions

  50. All In all I found many of the responses interesting, especially those by chiniqy. There has always been anger at our level when plutocrats at the top of the food chain disrespect some who need to feel power they really don’t have. I watched my mother, father, older sister and brother go through h**l that I vowed to challenge for as long as I have breath. Black people are angry, as are disenfranchised whites, who say black men, and black women they disrespect are angry, lazy, violent,…

    • lareen-ucanlearn

agree with you. I also think you should contact his manager and say what you said here in case he does not read the post. He may be speaking about his experiences. He should not label the whole group of African American women.

  51. charles mcgee

WHY NOT? In about 1865 Black men, the descendants of American slavery, accepted the 15th Amendment to our Constitution. In doing so they left their wives, daughters, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunts and nieces standing outside. Despite the fact that Black women worked side by side for manumission Black males choose to disregard their effort and used their work for personal gain. They did not even bring home half the check. In a word, Black men NEVER honored the partnership as it did not exist in their minds. As the 100 Black Men to do something about this flaw, then Black women will no longer be sick and tired. Remember, Fannie Lou Hamer said it, “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.” Black males are more likely to quote John F. Kennedy or Jesus Christ than Fannie Lou Hamer. I did the same until I understood 1865.

  52. JG

He’s not referring to all black women, that’s common sense. But in a society where even a bus driver has to knock some sense into a black women( not that I support that), it would be prue stupidity to act like u don’t see what he speaks of everyday. The women in EVERY culture is a childs first teacher. Try escaping that fact. My same sisters begging for respect are the biggest fans of the most self degrading practices. Room full of so-called Queens dancing to “all I want for my birthday is a big booty hoe”, and proclaiming, “that’s my song”, I see this daily. But yet maintain and attitude that the world must bow to them

    • ujunwa

agree with you. Women really are their worst enemy and I am a woman. It kills me that I have to watch music videos and see scantily clad women dancing and shaking their money maker beside fully clothed men. In nigeria, every teenager in and older youngsters want to look and dress like nicki minaj and wear a shouty pink lip. You find women in their 30′s dressing like s***s and looking for a man to take them seriously and wife them up. They hate on their fellow women saying stuff like she aint even pretty, wonder what that dude sees in her (like seriously why). Every lady wants to out do the other and it’s all in the spirit of pleasing men. I saw a picstory bout a boy calling up his girl around 2am Saying he is h***y, and she actually dressed up to go meet him where ever he is and yet we wanna cry disrespect when we have cheapened ourselves so much that men don’t think it necessary that a woman should be wooed and courted and wifed before thinking of tapping that a**. Seriously, it’s that bad that a guy stopped calling my friend because she wouldn’t sleep with him and when she called to enquire as to why the abrupt halt, he said something like you know you deprived me of the s*x thingy, say the word and i’m all yours. Seriously, s*x has become a criteria to date. I see women considering sleeping with men on the 3rd date like omg this is what it boils down to. I see my friends carrying condoms around just in case their boyfriend not fiancé or husband wants to have a quickie anywhere. See where we went wrong? We can’t actually expect men to keep up when we have taking away their God giving right to chase after a woman, we can’t expect men to live up to our expectations when we believe it’s ok to have a house husband while we the women bring home the quid. We can’t expect not to be angry when black brothers keeps s******g us over, like seriously why will they not screw us over when they are a lot of us out there ready for a man to stick his poker into us because we have labelled ourselves, his shawty, side chic, ride or die b***h and all demeaning names you can think of and black sisters ever willing to bear those names as a badge of honour. Thinking it’s ok to have baby daddies and ghetto black women in particular thinking the world is against them and citing slavery and racism as an excuse for the mistakes they have become. When we got it all wrong was when we started seeing all these vices as ok because some white lady or black lady spoke about being independent and needing no man to help pay the bills and all that jazz yet they go off to get married and have a family and yet love the man taking them to expensive and luxurious places (you all know i’m talking about beyonce right)? I don’t believe in pleasing any man in anyway, anything I do I do it to feel good (this is the me I was, and the me I have learned how to be after giving into the pressure of my peers pushing boundaries to keep a bf). The bible knows Wht it was saying when it distinctly mapped out the role of a man and a woman. Power corrupts, I know this because I know that as a financially stable lady of 27, I cannot date a broke man or a man I have to be given money to because I will be as insolent as the definition of the word itself. I will definitely challenge your manhood because a weak man did not raise me so I Expect you to live up to that standard that man (my earthly father) has set as what a man should be and act like. God knows women in general are one h**l of a creature and thus set us under men to subdue us yet giving us the power to know that we are creatures to be cherished and loved and protected and thus gave us the challenge of keeping ourselves chaste and hold our head high so that men should crave us. It is our right to refuse to be naked in videos, it is our right to refuse to sleep with a man when he hasn’t wifed us, it is our right to refuse to answer names like my main b***h or down azz b***h all those terms coined together by illiterate drug peddling bothers who do nothing but refuse to keep the trousers on their waist and look for women or men to bash about getting an education. These men will only use us, screw us over and Expect us not to question their weak azz and when we do, we are labelled angry. Am I angry? yes because if I were to be ok with the way we women Cheapen ourselves for undeserving men, then I have nothing to live for. I cannot be ok with a man trying to grab my behind and in his little mind, think he is paying a compliment. That is the height of bull s**t. So yes I am an angry black african lady, nigerian to be precise but I am angry for the right reasons and not foolish reasons.

      • Theo

When all you Black men and women going to stop all this blame game talk. How about showing each other a little love, respect, loyalty and decency? Makes no sense to me why everybody just always b******g and raising h**l and throwing blame at each other. h**l, all of you are MAD at each other! Everybody need to make a truce and start the h**l all over!

  53. Guest

Mr.Hughly has always been a disrespecting person to me so I don’t expect him to speak or give an intelligent explanation to his arguement. This is where ‘Keeping it Real’ goes wrong.I believe our people need to go to school and take a debate class because too many of these so called celebraties and other black public figures come on t.v. and radio and make fools of themselves. If you read the script it was completely inexplanable when he was asked to defend his argument. All he did was prove to Americans that the stereotype of black women are true and that they are right in attacking black women.Until Black men start respecting themselves and there family, Black women are going to have to continue the fight of representing themselves and righting the wrong.Could you imagine the self worth his daughters have of themselves?Any father who speaks I’ll of women publicaly like that always puts their daughters at risk of being in an abusive relationship and a disrespectful son.Ive seen it too many times in my life.

    • Jay

Great point about the effect these comments may have on his daughters. So, the irony is that he is actively creating 2 more angry black women by his actions. Which came first the chicken or the egg?

      • I’ve read every last comment posted here regarding DL Hughley’s comment that Black Woman are angry. Listen we are all living on frazzled nerves and must always be aware who really controls the media. I’ve seen his comedy and heard his remarks about Black Women being angry. Shucks many rappers made millions calling our woman hoes. That’s the world of entertainment sadly to say! Personally speaking I believe our Black woman respect and love someone who handles their business and at the same time respects them and their children. DL Hughley is a commedian not a politcal scientist. Fall back and keep it moving onward and upward people. I know you don’t really believe that his wife and children don’t feel respected and loved by him or else his lovely wife would have left him long ago money or not!

Next up I don’t know about anyone else but the chicken and egg question should be an easy one to anywer if we believe that all of like “wiggly worm” to produce sperm and a single cell to produce life. Therefore I believe the egg came first, and the day we forget about color lines, we won’t have time to even entertain such a statement by anyone. Now whatcha going to do with the beautiful life given you? Peace!

  54. SweetPea

This one’s easy DL; WOMEN…any woman…will not tolerate and/or agree to your messin’ around on them! Peiod! …Although you failed to elaborate on ANY specifics…I’ll bet my bottom dollar it’s relative to “other parties”…outside of your marriage. We DO understand you, and you DO hear us loud and clear, and that’s why you’re MAD! Lol

  55. I see nothing wrong with black women. It’s just a case of the grass seems greener on the other side. So if you as a black man wants to date out of your race, go ahead but don’t use black women as your reason to do so.

  56. Norman hensley

Dl is a brilliant comedian and political commentary.but this got to the dummest thing hes every said.

  57. Barbara

As far as iam concerned let black men have others women i wouldn’t want a man who hates me (therefor hating himself) and thinking iam angry all the time because iam a black woman! We all are African originally because the 4 rivers connect us all (in the garden of eden) the first woman was black made in gods image because the bible describes God himself as skin of brass and eyes as red as blood and hair of wool! The tower of babel confused the language and separated us by language not color and because of where we settled that chose our color!Scientifically blacks and whites are more related by DNA then any other people, so really they are just dating black women with pale skin (and drama free white women do not exist)! Blacks can handle more pressure because we are always under stress because of our skin color, don’t get me wrong i love all men of color, because of slavery we all are not 100% one color the last thing we need is self hate by our own men

  58. Ursula Marie Porche

DL,, come on now, I’m black, with my hair locked up, twisted. Real black. And I am a happy go lucky person until I’m made to be upset. And I’m praying about that. Because I’m not going to let some knuckle head come and steal my joy. I’ve know La Donna few years and she is the sweetest black female walking the earth. all I have ever seen of her is that she is blessed. So stop. If a black woman is angry, somebody did her something to carry it around. I’m getting rid of my problem. I should be angry all the time but I’m not. Until someone messes with me

  59. Tonya

Funny how black women get weaves and relaxers, they’re imitating white culture but whites can go get lip injections, permanent waves, b**t implants, breast implants and tans like the black woman and nothing is said. DL Hugley was stereotyping because I’m still trying to understand how a married man know how so many women are anyway? Black women and men are more aggressive and have zestier attitudes than most races. That’s just in us by nature. A black man was talking about black people like a dog to a klan of white people and because I corrected him he accused me of being an angry black woman and I had too much relaxer. The white women ate that up but at the end of the day, I’m married and middle incomed and the white girl that stuck her chest out at this black man putting a whole race of women down for her kind and features was single and dirt poor. So whos outcome was better? That is a stereotype sent from the Pitts of h**l and no black woman should receive that label. If you wear tracks, relaxed hair, Jamaican blow outs, color, or natural, it’s what you choose to do so do it with dignity. My husband loves me and I call things how it is and some view that as angry but oh well. Whoever dont like it dont take it. Hold your head up because look how many woman sweat our look and our ways. Should I bring up Ice T’s wife Cocoa? Why do you think she had to pay thousands of dollars to look like us when our weaves and relaxers cost only a few bucks and no surgery. Blackgirlsrock…

  60. KnowThyPpl&ThySelf

Black women are not the kind of women who will take a persons word for something just because that person is another race or a male. Unlike white women, black women haven’t been put on a pedestal. They’ve learned things the hard way for centuries in this country therefore they’re not going to be undermined so easily. Just because black women are keeping their wits about them from experiences of knowing life ain’t always white clouds & rainbows they are perceived as angry. They aren’t angry they are aware of what life can bring cuz it ain’t always pretty.

  61. Butch

I guess he’s referring to his own mother, and the way she raised him. My mom is mixed and she’s not angry, my sister is not angry either. Lets not generalize black women, its nasty and uneducated to assume that all black women are mean, angry and evil. We’re living in the last days, and we need to be loving one another.

  62. Vandellish

    ******************************************
I don’t think he served this up well. Technically, I agree with Hughley but have a problem with the spirit of how he (or this blog) delivered this. I haven’t read his book so I can’t say what the context behind his quote is but here’s how I would have put it:
In 2012′s USA many people IN GENERAL are angry and black women are no exception. Black anger nowadays is much more passive aggressive than it used to be. It is typically
today a version of today’s American corporate culture with is becoming increasingly impersonal, mean-spirited and edgy. Hard economic times, class, gender and racial barriers and/or biases play out in ALL our lives and minds in varied amounts and it undoubtedly influences the way we express ourselves in real life situations and even on comment boards such as this. Another thing we have to consider is that everyone (black, white, man or woman) wasn’t necessarily raised right in terms of mannerisms, gender etiquette, social graciousness and the art of being truly humble.
With that said, ALL black women are not angry! It is ridiculous to assume any group of people is any one thing. Still, a considerable number of black women ARE indeed angry and it can feel overwhelming and intimidating to her natural partner – the black man.
As a man I’ve had to learn not to feel disappointed in the obvious anger among many sisters because we are all inclined or hard-wired to feel that our natural partners will have mutual love, respect and admiration for us when we interact with them. When our attempts to express our admiration for our natural partners is ignored, shunned or unwelcomed it is easy to assume that our women are just angry people which is just simply not always the case.
As black men we may feel the same way about many white women (that they are generally very bitter as well) however white women are not our natural partners and it doesn’t affect our psyche as much as it does when they are less than responsive or dismissive toward us.
    *******************************************

    • lareen-ucanlearn

I agree with you. The author generalized it and it should have been stated differently. I am a Licensed Educator and work around all white and as you stated they are also angry as well as other groups. So for Mr. Hughley to point state is not true. He possibly have had personal relationships with many and made his assumption based on it.

  63. Tonya

And yes they do have black women with light skin, colored eyes, straight curly hair etc. I’m from New Orleans and that is common to mistake a black for something else. Me and my husband are both dark skin and our daughter is mistaken for a Mexican and his brother and sister is very light in complexion with blue eyes. My aunt and a few relatives can pass for white or mixed and my aunts hair is straight as silk with not a curl in it and she is black. So yes black women come in all features nowadays. And forgot to mention my mom and my husbands mom is very light skin. It just depends. One of my moms best friends is so white looking, you cannot tell she is black. And guess what black men tell her? She’s toooo light. Black men need to quit.

  64. @Chiniguy, “Maybe the reason may be, that their slavish imitation of Caucasian beauty standards has made their sons sub-consciously reject “black” women.” That is deep. OMG makes perfect sense. If you hate yourself by not embracing who and what you were created to be and embrace your oppresor’s dictate of what comes naturally for them (European bodily and facial features), why would anyone else love you. Flip Side. Today body and facial features are being borrowed across the board. Caucassions enhance their lips, buttocks, cheeks and tan to look more afro… Blacks weave, perm, change eye color, even de-melanate their skin to look more European. ONLY when white women do it, it is aceptable in adding to their beauty; Blacks are simply trashing their Universal gifts as ugly and unacceptable.

    • lareen-ucanlearn

See statement I made about us our African American history of hair. It is a reply to Chiniquy. I could not place it here due to the system not allowing repeats.

  65. nate

Too many myths are being espoused here and by a lot of black people. No, not all black men are gay, in jail or dead. And, not even the majority. Many black men have the same problems as black women. We are self-hating…of our own features, culture and attribute good qualities to whites. Once we get to know whites well, we see the same problems that we attribute to ourselves. The major difference is that they own much of the capital, control institutions, and are able to foment images of themselves and us. We have bought into their imagery and they use it for s****l purposes–use black men and black women. We simply in our ignorance and for money, become willing accomplices in our own demise.
Yes, there are some angry black women. I live with my wife and daughter….I know. But I get angry too, sometimes. I have a doctorate on the faculty at an HBCU, I assure you I see all of it. I see slothfulness among both black young men and women. Young me think that it is cool the “get over”, young women thing that it “sexy”. So many of believe in the bible, that says “love thy neigbor as thyself”, implying we must first love ourselves. Live it. DLH gave one man’s opinion, simply treat him as if he was one of the bloggers and let it go.

  66. Mello

The black women I see that are angry have been burned and used. In fact white women in the same situation are angry as well. And the young black girls are imitating what they see their mamas do. They grow up angry because daddy isn’t there most of the time. They are angry because they have seen momma angry and dropping her standards to get a man to do the husband and daddy thing, then they get another loser and the cycle starts again. Sometimes with another child on the way. Many of you are mad because you didn’t listen to good reasoning and your own conscience.

Many black men don’t love their woman. Other cases we good black men are picking up the damage some other man left behind or what the woman allowed. Some black women just don’t get it. Black men like women who take care of their bodies, are independent, got an education, are go getters, who don’t act ghetto, who talk intelligently, know how to cook!!! Not women who spend money on nails and hair and act ghetto and have no education. Men are attracted to soft but strong lady-like personalities, looks and intelligence! We good men like to protect and provide and be faithful, not to be bossed around by a woman and be neglected sexually and taken for granted. Don’t go to the store with a scarf and rollers in your head and ashy hands and ankles, and no make-up (all the time)? only put on make up when you go to church????

We like our black woman taking care of herself. Too many of you are out of shape! and you get mad at us when we look at someone in shape!
    Get in shape!

Many of you are unhappy with yourselves and looking for others to make you happy! You won’t have to compete with white women if you get your act together! Ain’t nothing like a FINE, nice bod, Intelligent talking and thinking Black Woman! Give us that and we won’t anything else!

When you love you, then others will too! Including black men!

    • Mel boogie

      Chiniquy,
Sweet heart, you mean well with your comments but they are misguided, and too broad to hold truth. First off, you obviously don’t understand that the root of self hate and that it began a long time ago darling. My mohter was natural and sent her girls to school with natural hair only for them to come home upset because some other little black kid teased them to death, calling them names because their hair wasn’t permed. It didn’t stop my mother and I am still natural with all my natural black beauty. I moved from NYC where that was greatly appreciated and I turned thousands of heads to a city where that(natural hair) is frowned upon by most black men in the city and so I went without dates for quite some time.

2.)Disrespect of a woman is taught behavior and not because women choose to wear weave, and as you say imitate caucasian women.
3.) I personally don’t have many friends that wear weave. I am trying to think of one and I can’t. My friends are educated, beautiful black women who come from loving, respectful families. And guess what, black men have still cheated on them(once because these women loved themselves enough to get rid of his no good a*s),hit them, disrepected them and lied because they think it is cool to do so.

The problem with many(not all, because I refuse to generalize)black men is that they are their own problem. Many are perpetual children and refused to grow up and accept responsibilities that come with being a man. Many want to wear the man hat but not do the work to earn the man hat. So they blame black women. My beautiful black man has never described me as angry and if he ever does, I am sure he will admit that I had a reason to be, because he is a real man.

On D.L.Hughly he is a has been. As a black woman, I could care less about what he says. He sounds angry and hurt and he needs some therapy! What I do care about is the number of black women on here who are tearing other black women down. That is our number one problem, the hatred of each other. It has to stop.

  67. Sterling

This is the ultimate loaded subject. It is true that our women are perpetually angry. It dose not matter where I travel, have dinner, shop for clothing; our women where the anger like a garment, which means you can see it coming at you, and it says “don’t bother me, don’t look at me, and your hello to me is not necessary”. Even the church is filled to the brim with this anger disease in our women. Therapy is needed, but I do not know who is even qualified to break through that kind of fortified iron. I love our women, but who knows? God bless,

american black woman not all but most of them have f**k up ways me personaly i like latin women they can cook treat you good and hold youre drink up to youre lips it dont get no better than that

  69. Gary Norris Gray BASN Staff Reporter

as a disabled black man I see where this conversation is going. Black Woman do not consider Black Disabled Males as mates .. Growing up in New Jersey I loved Black females but they always found excuses not to date but when I found a white woman to date Black woman were all in my face … wait a min. did I not ask you for dates and getting turned down over and over again gets old.. so you cant have it both ways and yes some not all are very angry as they should be by the way America treats them. and As Black Males treat them its not good and we need to clean up our act.. we have a proud strong loving Black man in the white house with a fine Black woman who stands by her man
self hatred is a bad thing and we(African Americans) have yet to get over this

  70. DL has a right to his opinion – no matter how it sounds…as do I have a right to my own. There is a LOT of hatred being voiced on this thread – and to my ears (eyes) it sounds like BOTH Black Women and Black Men are angry. I think it is a buried hurt…a learned hatred and a borrowed anger. Yes, I think it is a result of slavery trauma – and before you go gettin all “it’s the 21st century and we left that behind” on me – please tell me where, in fact did all this hate come FROM? Why is it so important to be equal to or better than other races, (namely caucasian) or so very important to be independent or proud to do it alone? It’s an embedded learning – passed down from many a slave mother to her daughters…I admit to the anger – but i also profess to freeing myself from it by acknowledging it and calling it what it is. In slave times, the ‘angry and independent’ attitude kept the women ALIVE…the quiet and subservient attitude of the men kept them ALIVE…it is time to cast these borrowed behaviors off. I personally LOVE Black men – and want only ONE King for the Queendom that I currently run. I am also a single parent – and my daughter’s father does not participate in her life – however – I accept the choices I made…that I thought he was my King…that when we got engaged, i thought it would be a good thing to let go of the condoms…and the best thing that ever came of those decision, is my sweet baby girl…but i hold NO grudge…I mean, Why? She is a result of MY choices and instead of damnin her father or hitting him for child support – I take care of her on my own and we are peacefully awaiting our real King’s appearance. Yes, I truly was an angry Black woman – but i chose to figure out why – AND demolish EVERY reason to stay that way. Ase’

  71. essijme

D.L. is a comedian, not a authority on women, black, white, green blue or whatever. In my opinion, there are angry women in all races. Has nothing to do with wanting to emulate white women, because some of them are just as angry and want to emulate us, that’s why they botox their lips & etc. Back to DL everytime some hollywood type opens his mouth about us, some of us take it as gospel. STOP IT SISTERS!! We are better and smarter than that. Just remember he would not be here if that “angry black women had not gave birth to him!”

  72. essijme

DL is a joke! Ladies, consider the source. Married 26 years? Wow, he got to know a lot about black women before those 26 years or did he learn all that during those 26 years and three kid?

  73. wil-lie

i think the most important apart of this is that the black men do not have power to control their wealth…they are all dependence on the white europeans for the way of life….so now adays….keyword…now in these days not the early 70 and be-on the white europeans except them as their wife and husban…so both the black man and the black women look at it like he can not do any thing for me or she can not do any thing for me..”this is apart of it” the major part i think is having to be safe around you on people do to the drugs epidemic and what i “”mean”” in 1989 people knew what that drugs was so they did not do it the people that was mess up on it was that few….these fool start rolling the drugs up in the marijuana and mess people up…because we all love weed…but we would not touch that crack shyt…but these fool f**k up their brother and sister any way with this drug and thats how it have continue to dominate our communities and it have both death and destruction in all our families…and we still allow these nig$er to say it cool to sell drugs…we know the white europeans love….they get a negro dead and another one in prison if not two or three…this is the black man thats doing this not the black women…she looking at the shyt like can i do…we can’t got no men because they are all trying to go to jail and 2 out of 5 turn in to gay why the are back their…or they are dead…the black women is looking like what can we do when it no one left but our form “slave master”…DL tell me brother what are they to do…they are afraid because they don’t only here it they see and have al-way see it for 30 years now under this drugs epidemic….is the white men behind this 100%…and the are behind it because they know black don’t have land to develope their on way of life in america they know you are landless black…”””with not even the ability to feed your self on a long term massive scale….they know you need their foodstamps on a massive scale millions of people 10′s of million why? you want get to the real power growing food””””…..and care taking animal for food like chicken, turkey, hogs, and cow …””””””the welfare form push the black women up in the face of the white men and white women to see it up close on what you got and what they got and how organize it is”””””…”organization is the key taking census and keep taps on your people the white europeans do….”””they got aids and that come from white eurpeans throught melanoma cancer”……she get a man think he good year later she fines out he a drug addict if he don’t roll her up and mess her up with the rolling weed in the marijuana trick…yes black women be careful be because this is the time your are living in… she got oral s*x that every one is talking about and how good it feel and you know black women they love their s*x….and this oral s*x may be the foundation to the “AID VIRUS” the white men in corpoaraption i mean you better have s*x with me or you are fired..they do it a lot slicker then this but you know””””… black men catching AIDS in prison and bring it back to the black women and whole lot of things… she lost because the black men them selfs is lost as a whole group of people…and when they get the mexicans and aisan settle in america….with you landless black…man we are in touble if we don’t get it together now…yes becareful..please.. …..h**l i’m mad….but like my mama said i put the best on the outside…..go to you tube and here claude anderson”

    • lareen-ucanlearn

Claude Anderson is very knowledgeable. I use to communicate via a class project with a former prisoner as a guest speaker. He introduced me to Claude Anderson to study from.

  74. Jim Baker

Black women are angry because they followed Massa’s instructions instead of their man and the result is they are by themselves raising their kids in reverse roles, Like massa intended when he needed those field hand to plow his field

This Independent(Means by yourself, which almost always the results)woman is the root of our dysfunction. She create the no good man which her backward rearing. She couldn’t teach him to be a man, but she could have taught him responsibility

This woman develop, raises and chase Bytch n****s, them blame him for their problem

Now watch the bitter women come out in numbers

    • T

      Wow Jim Baker,
Just when I thought I couldn’t find anything dumber,
I read your garbage(I mean statement).
      Congratulations,
You are the valedictorian of stupidity………..

  75. Miss T

It is disturbing to read that people really think Black women are angry because they are single mothers. Black women are angry because we are tired of being characterized as self-loathing and self-hating. That is ridiculous. Adornment is a part of our culture and heritage. Black women can be whoever they want to be and pull it off. The most sickening part of all of this is that our own men demean and degrade us; abandon us and their families, just because the white man tells you so. s**t he even has to tell you how much to pay to take care of your own children because if he doesn’t, you won’t pay. But above all of that, who do you run back to…the Black woman. This is tiresome, but let me qualify, I am a single mother of 3, my oldest has her BS in Accounting and Masters in Finance and gainfully employed, my oldest son is majoring in mechanical and aerospace engineering, fluent in Arabic and is gainfully employed (and doing better than most of you), my youngest is still in H.S., has his own cleaning business and on his way to college and I have my Masters in public Administration. Now almost certainly you all are so angry that Black women are making it with or without you…and so are your children. Now go back home where you belong, be the heads of your households and take care of your family(s).

  76. Christopher Smith

Every response from Black woman all say it’s because of the black man that they are the way they are, that is so stupid, you are the way you are because of you, you have the choice to be who you are just as black men are who they are, instead of pointing the finger at black men, why not look at what he was saying and ask yourself if you are in that category, if not keep it moving and for you that have “anger” issues stop saying it’s the black man’s fault, we have enough that is getting placed on us by ourselves and by other races, then now to hear its our fault you are so bitter.

  77. Timmy3

Funny how many people have something to say about this post and i bet they didn’t read all of if first. Smh

  78. Imhotep

My grandmother use to always say “95% of the time you get back what you put out, u attract what u r! “…..Now who is to blame for one’s anger of repeated disappointments in relationships? Just look in themirror ….Men and Women…Maat

  79. rtd

maybe he should give this a thought: most guys i know like him are gay. some are married with children

  80. Stormy

Why do we always fight among ourselves and voice it in public. You don’t see other races who have the same internal problems doing it. Divide and Conquer, we have all lost the ability to communicate on an intelligent level, when you listen you learn, not to mention freedom of speech and opinion……….

  81. Marquis

Too many comments to read. I love all my black people flaws and all. To group all black men or women in a bunch is just ridiculous. Truth of the matter is this, no one is perfect. Men have their shared flaws regardless of race and so do women. Men are partially responsible for enabling the women to form and keep these bad habits, women are just as responsible for accepting these less than acceptable behaviors from men. What makes me sad is to see how black women are running away from black men and the men are running away from their women. You don’t see other races doing that. African people have been torn from their land and spread all over the world. Pulled apart purposely and now we are so ignorant that we now perpetuate what got us to this point. Stick together, create exemplary households, turn things around. Running away from the problem will only make it worse. People have the right to love whoever they want, but to purposely ignore your own kind has to come from some deep rooted self hatred.

  82. TT

Self hate is a destructive thing black people. We can continue to blame him, her & them but, until we look in the mirror & deal w/ our demons…it’s no one else’s fault!! Fact of the matter is, we don’t support one another as a race & that’s our fault. Another fact check…slavery, poverty, lack of knowledge are conditions we’ve experienced, NOT WHO WE ARE!!! WE have the tools to do & live better but, WE’ve got to want it & WORK for it! No ones gonna give us anything! Other races/nationalities(Asian, Jews, Italians, Irish, etc) have figured it out. WHEN WILL WE?? Anger is a symptom, DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM!!!’

  83. Miss T

Historically, Black families were strong and impenetrable. But today you(Black men) place no value on the family/families you leave behind. While you call us angry, just look at your own lives, how many children have you fathered and never looked back? How many baby mommas do you have? It’s easy to point the finger, but we must unify to strengthen our families, our communities and our culture. This divisiveness is our damnation.

  84. JDub81

DL Hughley….the most unfunniest comedian in America. Who gets more publicity for saying absolutely nothing that’s not even funny. I guess in his small mind white women are the perfect creatures and if he had to do it all over again he’d be grinning in their faces. He put the “p” in pathetic.

  85. Mr Jimmix

Being Predisposed When Encountering The Opposite s*x Is Like Walking Thru With Blinders On.
The issues you are running from are NOT absence in whatever special interest group you desire. Undesirable people can be any color or shape and from a variety of cultural backgrounds.99.99% of the black women in America have NEVER met me and likely never will, frankly I don’t care about what the black man & women have done to each other. It’s your life and you have a right to think and adjust your feelings any way you wish. But if perception is reality, Cool, Hate me or Love me, for what ever real or Predisposed reason you care to employ. If there is a problem with me, I can assure you it will stay your problem and we BOTH can continue in the pursuit of whatever we think is cool!!
    Jx

  86. carol

EVERYONE HAS FREEDOM OF SPEECH, BUT THERE IS A THING CALLED RESPECT, I FEEL THAT WHAT HE SAID WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL. MABY HE IS THE ONE WHO IS ANGRY.

  87. We are not all angry, and we do not all hate ourselves, some of us are just trying to navigate through this cold cold world and find someone to love in the process. I love the Black man, always have and always will. I love him to a fault some might say. I have loved the Black Man through so much it is hard for me to even get angry anymore. If anything I just feel sad, sad that society looks at me and thinks negative things about me before I even open my mouth. I feel sad that I am called, fat, black, ugly, rachet, w***e, baby momma, mean, evil, too aggressive, bi***, and hoe. I am sad to hear I am not considered beautiful because my skin is too dark and my hair is too short, but I am also sad to see, hear, and read negative things about you. That you aren’t a man, that you are weak, that you are a criminal, that you are lazy, that you abandon your children, that you are only good for s*x, that you bank account is all that matters, none of this is true in my world even though I have been abandoned, mistreated, and dismissed by many a Black Man. I have been used, abused and even raped by Black Men but those men don’t make up the entire race of Black Man as a whole. I have forgiven those men for being, confused, for being lost, for being in pain and I have moved on. I know your pain in as a Black Man because I have my pain as a Black Woman. I just wish we could come together, come to an understanding come to an appreciation. Then the other things said about us Black Women would not hurt as much because we would know for sure that these are the thoughts of the few and not the many. I have been writing a book of poetry dedicated to the Black Man for 5 years. If you want to read some check out my blog. Love, A Not Angry Black Woman

  88. kindred2x

Mr. Hughley suffers from the disease of White Supremacy if it is white it is white and he cares what white people think. He knows controversial statements about black people will keep him in the press. He reminds me of so many black people who are successful then dis their people on why they are failures. Luckily, he is a commedian but he is getting a lot of press so his opinions are going out in the media universe. We know that black women have style, grace, power, and strength and put up with loads of c**p just to make it in this world. Of, course there are bad examples of black women out there but without the strength and fortitude of black women (standing behind the black man)I don’t know where our race would be. DL send out love and stop sterotyping black women as angry. Some of the sweetest people I know are black women but they become tigers if they see people doing them or their family wrong. Let’s spread love not rumors

    • Some of us women don’t want to think like a man, we are happy being women even if its painful at times. I find more strength in being a woman, being a lady, being feminine, being a care taker, being nurturing and going that extra mile to love my man than I find in always having the last word, always having to be in control and always feeling like its my job to figure it out because the man wont MAN UP. I save the power for work when I have to get the job done and done right to earn my excellent salary. I leave all the power nonsense at the door when I get off work and I come home to love and be loved. I can make my point, be heard and get my way by being loving, being consistent, and making it known I have my man’s best interest at heart. He trusts me and my ideas and judgement because I work this way. I am not saying be a doormat, I’m saying its OK to be a woman (if you have a good man, or a man on his way to being a good man). It is hard to do at first believe me, but the rewards are well worth it.

  89. Regular Azz Dude

I just wanna say to ALL the beautiful, positive and open-minded sisters who read this:

I love you and adore MOST of the things that you do (sorry but I can’t co-sign all that shyt). Stay positive, explore your options and enjoy your lives and good men will find their way to you.

I say this as a successful man who is nearing 40 with no children and never been married but still have dreams of all of that stuff – hopefully with a black woman…dreams die hard folks.

  90. To make a long story short, women need to hold on the the power that we have, and we have more power than we know. Don’t be so quick to give that up because once you do, men will disrespect that, and move on to the next poor soul.Women need to take a stand on demanding respect. Let them know you’re not a toy or plan to be another notch on his belt! The main concept here is to learn from your mistakes. But please understand there are many men out there who need to “MAN UP” as well. A lot of them were not raised to think that when you grow up, to get an education, marry and settle down. We are strong, gifted & black! And don’t forget ” Act like a women & Think like a man”!

  91. sandy

Well, if that’s the way the feels so be it,that’s his opinion. I’m a Black Woman, I’m not angry, I have likes and dislikes as every other woman of any other race. I don’t understand why Hugley and other black men think that we are angry all the time. I’ve never heard any other race of men say that Black women are angry all the time, as a matter of fact men of other races simply adore black women, enjoy are company and have a great time all around. My family is full of strong Black women, very loving although life at times has been unfair, in love and relationships, however the love and kindness reigns supreme, sweetness flows. I don’t understand the idea that black women are angry all the time. Maybe the men who would think that are carrying baggage they are not aware of and the womans reaction is to an initial action that some man just does not realize he’s putting out simply because men believe only woman come with baggage. Such a sad way to think. Continue in happiness my sisters.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH DL , THEY ARE ONE ANGRY BUNCH. INSTEAD OF LEARNING THEIR BLACK HISTORY , THEY RATHER BLAME BLACK MEN FOR THEIR OWN ANGER INSTEAD OF TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. THEY DONT BLAME THE MEDIA FOR PITTING THEM AGAINST US BLACK MEN. THEY TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR WHATSOEVER. MANY TIME I HAVE BEEN IN THE STORY AND THEY ARE JUST ANGRY AT YOU FOR NOTHIN EVEN WHEN YOU SAY HI TO THEM. MY EX HAS NO RESPECT WHAT SO EVER FOR HER FATHER WHO SHE LIVES WITH BOTH HER PARENTS AND HAS ALWAYS GIVEN HER EVERYTHING, I HAD TO BREAK UP WITH HER a*s , CUZ SHE COULDN’T APPRECIATE A GOOD MAN. LIKE THE BOOK “BLACK PAIN” SAYS , HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE. THE CYCLE CONTINUES, AS YOU ARE ABUSED, YOU LOOK FOR , LOOK UP TO AS WELL AS ATTRACT ABUSIVE MEN. BUT NOT EVEN THAT THEY WILL CLAIM AS AN UNHEALTHY CHOICE. WE ARE IN AN AUTOMATIC CYCLE OF EXTINCTION. NOW THAT WE ARE AT ODD WITH EACH OTHER ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE NO LONGER WANT TO BE WITH EACH OTHER. THEN VENTURE OUT TO OTHER GROUPS TO FIND ATTRACTION AND SOME PEACE. IT IS JUST TOO STRESSFUL TO BE WITH A BLACK WOMAN.

Stop listening to ignorance! Comedians are who we think they are! DL is DL! He is not d**k Gregory a feather in our Hat & a Black&Strong Brother! DL is like All these Rappers found everywhere accept the Library! If you want to take advice look to a couple who been Married 4 ever & ask them! I love to see older people still together it really touches me in a positive way!

  94. Mike

I thought for a minute D.L. was beginning to mature from his jackass ways. Apparently, I was far off the mark. He seems to be regressing into eternal jackassdom! This is some of the most ignorant commentary I’ve ever read and those who subscribe to either side of this thought process (i.e. black men hating black women or vice versa) show your ignorance especially concerning historical and conscious thought. And all I can do is smh head because “they got you”. Without studying your history indepth, one can’t begin to imagine the depths of how white supremacy, domination, and racism has affected all races of this entire planet especially the black race. The socially dysfunctional relationships black men and black women have with one another is no different any of our other socialy problem that stem from white supremacy. And no-a-days, you have the toe taping negro looking to validate their white pass by defending white supremacy whenever they can not understanding the system of chaos intentionally instilled in us throughout our history in america, one that has been perpetual and calculated. They somehow think they’re above but ironically they are the key cogs in keeping the machine going. Funny how black people are perceived as angry yet the same thing being displayed by other races is perceived as passionate. Wisdom and knowledge is priceless….

  95. MillieG1

It amazes me that a person can achieve success and admirmation from so many people yet, that same person can be narrowminded, ignorant, judgemental, and cruel. As we all know one person or a group of people within a particular race do not define and accurately describe every persons behaviors or personalities within the race. D.L. Hughley is obviously oblivious to the vast differences regarding characteristics, personalities, perspectives, experiences, lifestyles, and education that exist amongst many African American women. I no longer regard D.L. Hughley as a man intelligence who honors or respects women of color and he obviously seriously misinformed and delusional.

  96. Wakeup

D.L. is a comedian – was his statement another one of his jokes? Doesn’t D.L. know that stereotyping and prejudice is wrong?

  97. Dale47

    what a real a*****e…wow

  98. Lets get with it black people and instead of calling ourselves families lets start calling ourselves CORPORATIONS—-and act as such—in other words ORGANIZE—–stop wasting our time on trivia matters—-such as so-called Angry Black Women—–turn some of that so-called anger——I perfer the word “PASSION” into some CREATIVE endeavers—–and “MOVE ON”!!.

  99. corbin56

Say what you will about Mr. Hugley, but he is NO FOOL!! The majority of BW are angry and meaner than a junkyard dog. I absolutely do not like being around most of them. What makes it so bad is the fact that I AM A BLACK WOMAN. However, I reside in Montana and I do not have to be around their anger and meanness. Do not discredit Mr. Hugely. He speaks the truth whether we like it or not, this is true.

  100. Hannah Dalton

I find it funny that some black men agree with him. When women of various races have attitudes and it isnt just some black women. I guess men are blinded by women of other races and never think they will get upset with them.

  101. DebNBrooklyn

Given the state of black males today, is true that as a group they are not angry? Why? Do they accept their condition happily?

  102. LarryJ

I have a question; Will President Obama`s two daughters, after a life of protective privilege, private schools and eventally ivory league universites and graduate schools, identify with Black America..????

  103. Brandon

I agree with D.L’s very much. This is the image and the role of the woman today. Meaning mainly when she, BW, is view on the big screen that how she is mainly protrayed. Mean, humbuggish, fussy and etc. Take for instance my wife – I love her very much but oh too often I have deal with a unnecessary attitude. An rarely do I see the real love that lay from within. Just as D.L. stated they aren’t happy if they are calling all the shots in whatever. Black women can be very strange but peculiar.

    • Miss Hood

With compliance to what you said, reading D.L.’s opinion and being a African American woman myself, I humbly agree with both.

  104. Samdromeda

Wow. A lot of personal realities and personal perspectives. There is an admonition to not compare ourselves one to another. Generalizations usually gets the general killed. I know that it does not make sense but it is often true. It is important to avoid divisive generalizations that deny personhood. I think therefore I am. This is the foundation of personhood. Survival is based upon setting in motion all causes that support personhood and the continuance thereof. It is critically important to know the purpose of personhood. Beyond this is community which is a group of people, hopefully in familial units, who have a common purpose to which their individual skills and talents contribute. You know…the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker which provide meat bread and light so that the farmers can feed the people and the children and their parents can study and grow to enhance their personhood which contributes to the building of Divinely inspired community in all of its many unique facets and intricacies and thereby assure security and promote the desire of other communities to emulate ours. Be safe,be wise and be creators.

  105. DENISE

He has not seen, met or converse with all black women to make that type of generalization!!! I see to many black men generalizing black women and then have the nerve to get mad when they are generalized!!! D.L has a problem with himself and needs a psychological evaluation. I find it funny because he is the one who sounds angry and bitter!! LOL!! What if we generalize ALL black men as violent, oversexed, dangerous felons and street thugs who walk around with their behind hanging out of their pants. Who also kill each other in the streets 24/7 like they are on a battle field. Are we allowed to make that sort of generalization even though we have not met all black men? If you are to much of a coward to put your foot down and not take c**p from your woman, then that is your problem. Grow a back bone and stop blaming all black women for your problems and weak mindedness!!

  106. DMONEY

There are four ways in which we communicate with the world, how we look, what we do, what we say and how we say it. We are not far removed from the James Brown/Ike Turner era. During which womem were regarded as property. Many of the daughters of that era are angry and have vowed to fight against being mistreated. That has fostered an attitude that sits just below the surface. Woman can now brag about having more degrees, climbing the ladder of success at a rapid pace and being able to do it all. In many homes there is a confrontation at the front door regarding regarding who will wear the pants. One is a fool if they don’t realize why black women are rising and black men are falling. Black women may be angry because she has compaired her man to the men at her office who are very accomplished at running the system that they created. In a good relationship, people should cover one another

  107. DENISE

This is why the black race is so inferior to other races. We are too busy fighting and hating one another. We then put other races up on a pedestal and worship them. Blacks will be the first people to yell racism, but we do to it ourselves, i.e. light skin, dark skin mess. We get mad when the KKK and Skin Heads march in our communities and then turn around and preach the same hate at one another. We help these groups out and show that they are still superior to us!! We are an inferior race and will continue to be with all of this hate and betrayal within our race. This is my opinion and this is how I feel, we are inferior and we maintain this inferiority perfectly!!

  108. alizoom

What’s really sad about this interview is it’s a reminder of what D.L. could have been. Fifteen years ago he was on his way to being a great social satirist, in the same vein as d**k Gregory, Mort Sahl, George Carlin, Richard Pryor. Chris Rock took that road. But D.L. played himself cheap, and now he’s the black Don Rickles, except about 30 years ahead of schedule. Mean-spirited, bullying, s**t-starting, and just plain ol’ dull; recycled jokes and commentary. This is a man who “jokes’ about sitting in the car for hours after he arrives home because he can’t face his wife. Poor woman, How she can put up with this a**hat is anyone’s guess.

  109. Where do you people live? Black men are no good….black women are trying to assimilate…..society determines the standard of beauty….are we serious? There are lots of GOOD black men in the world that are not in jail and arent effing women over….YOU ARE WHAT YOU ATTRACT….so maybe those of you that think there are no good black men need to accept that you arent a good black woman….IJS….I never been in a relationship with a man that wasnt a good man….He may not have been the RIGHT man for me….but they were all good men and all of them were BLACK….And black women with light skin straight hair and thin lips and noses that comes from race mixing through the generations those ARE NOT Kemetic traits from ANY tribe in Kemet….now back to D.L. Hughly….If you read the excerpts then you would see that his statements are not in full context but are his to have….everyone has a right to their opinions and the ability to express them….personally I agree with him…black women are the angriest group of people on the face of the earth….and I still havent figured out why….I really try to understand them cause after all my mother grandmother aunts cousins daughters sisters h**l I am one…..but I see how black women act always angry I feel like Katt Williams sometimes….”you gang banging on bacon” like why at 9 in the morning are you ready to fight if somebody say the wrong thing to you?…..you can say what you want you can try to paint the black man as the reason for black women being angry….but someone in another post said its a choice….black women while we are the lowest people on the totum pole think the world owes us something and because we dont get it the way we want it we got a effing attitude….truth is never easy to hear and truth about ones self is even harder to hear….my drill seargent said if you throw a rock in a pack of wolves the one you hit gonna holla…..so all you who find this offensive are probably ANGRY AND ONLY PROVE HIS POINT.

  110. KG

OK, there are a number of black men that do not subscribe to this blog who do NOT respect or even like black women, so let’s be real about this. WHY would I continually look for someone who isn’t the least bit interested in me? It’s crazy. I prefer MEN who like black women- period. If you are black, white, indian, hispanic, eastern european, etc, etc- doesn’t matter to me. Do you know that black men don’t even approach black women on online dating sites? They are looking for white women but they don’t want to admit it b/c they know how f*cked up their thinking is. Men do what’s easy and what’s easy is approaching white women. I say to black women- stop giving it up too soon and getting babies that no one is willing to stick around and take care of!

It’s so intriguing to me that Hughley makes these claims that he hates bw, yet he has been married for 26 years to one. I think he deserves a cookie for that much. He has done what MANY black men have failed to do- stick around and take care of his kids.

  111. Confident

F*&%K DL Hughley…..what he eats doesn’t make me sh*&T!!To thine own self be true!

  112. Cieahray

I say we are not angry enough. I relized a long time ago that our brothers were messed up by 450 or more years of salvery. I also relized we as black women are messed up also. The fact that we had to keep the family together and was slways use to putting everyone and everbody a head of ourself. This somehow gave us the strength we needed to move on.
But what do it say about us making Asians and other races rich by trying to look like our oppressors. We come in many shades and our hair range from nappy to straight. If we as black women pulled togather we could bring the hair industry to it’s knees. Stop buying hair product for just six months. Or at least until the Asians let Black Businesses get involved with distribution. As for me I wear my dreads proudly.

  115. When we stop pointing fingers at each other like little children, stop treating our children like they are adults, stop treating our elders like we know just as much, if not more than they do, and we learn how to respect each other as the disenfranchised race we are, and pull ourselves together, and stop tearing ourselves apart, we just might be able to see the real purpose of the village we have left to wither away and die: strenth, unity, love and kingdom. I’m no expert, but I observe a lot. Observations are not supposed to start wars, but we allow them to, amongst ourselves. Why is that? Just some things to think about. One love.

  116. Alexis

Black men have always tried to make an excuse for hating themselves and loving the whites that enslaved and lynched them…Black man DL Hughley’s excuse for hating himself is the angry black woman. Just wait for it another excuse for hating themselves and loving whites will come along….

  117. Lexie

Every single black female that commented negatively on this article just gave validation to what DL said about black women being the angriest group of people…Instead of proving him RIGHT, how about changing your mindset and behaviors to be more lady like…YOU control your anger. If you allow your happinings destroy your happiness – that’s on you. And yes I AM A BLACK LADY…

  118. I am a Black Woman. I am not angry. Each day that I walk out of my apartment in this foreign country, I am aware that everyone who looks at me, has opinion of me formed by statements made by people such as Mr. Hugely, Imus, Ice T. An opinion formed by the true life fact that the Black men in my area, including the ones who are my friends and acquaintances obviously prefer lighter coloured women. I don’t blame them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Plus, for many of them, support is an issue and I do not desire to support another human being. An old boyfriend from the islands called me yesterday to let me know that he had just gotten back to town after being gone for 5 years. He emphasised that he didn’t have a girlfriend yet. What he was really saying is that it had gotten cold outside that night and he needed a place to stay…. for the winter if he could get a ring in my nose. I’m not against helping a brother in need but I am goal oriented and having a house guest would get in the way of my business at the height of the season. I understand the anger of my sisters. Being a black woman is being a target. The reasons are as many and varied as all the people and psyches that inhabit this world and the next. I just got totally screwed in a job that I loved and had done well because….I was the easy target. However, I excepted my fate with as much grace as I could muster. I think the people watching me know that it was a coward’s blow and help comes out of the woodwork. My father loved me, my sister, and my brother with a love that will endure for all eternity. That’s why I can be at peace with myself. I can walk out of my home and smile at all the little old ladies who use to be afraid of anyone black, not look at all the men who still hope I might sell my body since the economy is bad, and hope that I don’t run into some teenager influenced by the rhetoric of hatred. I am very sorry that my brothers have no shame to talk about us, their sisters, their mothers the way they do. But then, maybe we’re not sisters and brothers after all. Maybe we’re just people some sheltered and some burnt by the sun. Maybe the family thing was always just a convenient myth. The same way that black women are a convenient target.

  119. This interview is very sad and again remind me of the importance of education, which is power, on the subject. I have lost what little respect I have had for this brother who always have difficulty articulating reality. To make such general statements about black women which may be based on his personal experieces because of his manner of interaction with them is really sickening. I believe he is seeing a mirror reflection of himself since he may be a very angry man who has lost his way. The truth is my ultimate dream is that we as a people need to recognize the strength in both our males and females and understand the difficulties that we have to live with and find ways to embrace each other. No other male race will go publicly and be so critical of their women. The brother defitely have pent up anger issues that should be remedied. He may get the attention he is seeking after limited exposure for a while, however this is not the way to do it. Good luck to you brother… look after your mental health and sign up for some anger management theraphy.

  120. CntrolledSbstnce

DL is wrong. Period. People need to stop listening to these entertainers and most black people that have a commercial voice are what? Entertainers. That’s no coincidence. All generalizations are wrong and come from lazy thinking. And as a person with a degree in Africana Studies, a lot of you are wrong on your info and are doing more damage with your comments than teaching. What’s more stupid and painful to read is how a lot of you are accusing black women who comment in disagreement of being the ‘angry women’ he’s speaking of. That’s incredibly stupid and offensive. As a black man, married to a black woman I’m offended as well, and it makes me… What? Angry. I guess now all black men are angry thugs.

  121. Deborah

This man is disgusting and should not be given any media time. He cna go to h**l.

  122. Greg

I am going to be honest here. You can critic D.L.Hugley words all you want, but you can’t say hie credentials are not tight. He has been married to a black woman for 28 years. He has two black daughters. He is not an uncle tom. So he is with us politically. He is not a stupid person. So regardless of whether you agree with his opinion or not, we can’t dismiss him a Stacey Dash’s simpleton.

I think there are factors in the situation that effects black women in an anti society against them. It is not a great society for black men either. So there are a lot of maladjustment to go around. This is problem is long and complicated. It is definitely about more than black women. D.L.Hughley has his opinion. He does not have the whole story. All of us black folks are still living in some kind of Post Traumatic Slavery Syndrome.

  123. CeCe

As a stand-up comedian,(not a famous one) I have noticed that the majority of people that attend comedy shows are women, and couples. Men come because the women want to. Mr. Hughley, your statements will leave a great deal of empty seats at your shows! We need to boycott this man, and let him know that even though you have “freedom of speech” we are free to not listen to your “speech!”

  124. H. LaVerne Hardin

Black women are the foundation of this country. We protected black men during slavery, during the civil rights movement, when they went to jail, when they were our sons charged with crimes they did not commit. We are Harriet Tubam over and over again. We are not angry, we are forgiving, protective, smothering of our loved ones. We care a great deal. If D.L. Hughley has such a narrow blocked mind, I will assume that he lacks mental expansion, and wisdom, knowledge and understanding of our history and specifically of the history of black women. We are strong, not angry. We love.

    • Shane

Black women are not the foundations of anything except for the ghettos and the weave industry. Black women really need to humble themselves, then people probably wouldn’t be disgusted by them as much.

I am one happy black woman. I earn my own money, own my own home and dress and wear my hair as I please. I am always amused when black men are stupid enough to think that wearing wigs, weaves, etc determines whats in a woman’s head. Some black women wear weaves, wigs or hair color as a fashion statement, nothing more. Just as white women wear weaves, extensions and botox as a fashion statement. Get over it. WOMEN like to accessorize themselves. What black women need to do is to take care of themselves first. Every protest rally I attend, there are many more black women there than men. Even when we are protesting the mistreatment of some black man, there are more women there than men. We need to remove ourselves from this equasion and let the black man take care of themselves.

  128. I am a black woman. Black woman have more reason to be angry than any other woman on this earth. We have been going through real h**l since being brought to this country. Every man of every race has jumped on our bones and then disrespected us and left us standing naked in front of the world. We held our families together Our boy grow seeing us being disrespected and thought that is the way it is supposed to be. Our grandmothers had to sell themselves in order to feed thier man and children. By the time she got educated and tried to pick herself up, her men started to search for what he thought is better (THE WHITE GIRL) Yes!! we have every right in the world to be angry. Looking at TV Black men always show that he is a pimp and a half naked black hungry looking prostituted in on his arm. YES we have a right to be angry. We are used and abused by the world. Especially by black men.

  129. Don Willi

I absolutely love the irony of the situation here. D. L. Hughley talks about black women being angry all the time, and to prove him black women are writing angry responses to Mr. Hughley’s criticism about that aforementioned anger. I’m sure I’m gonna get a couple angry responses to this observation, but who cares. That to me is the biggest joke of them all.

Let’s be honest here people. D.L. Hughley is not the first person to say this out loud. He’s not even the thousandth. I think it’s time for black women to admit that there might be something to what black men (as well as others) have been saying. But hey, why do that when you can blame black men for being no good dogs, or the white man for slavery, or the Chinese for taking your jobs, or Satan?

Again I don’t expect any thoughtful insight to my comment just as there didn’t seem to be much insight as to what Mr. Hughley said. I’m just adding my two cent. Peace.

    • Alexis

Here’s one for you, Black women are not angry, by nature we are simply “mean” in that we say what we “mean” and we “mean” what we say!!! I’m just saying….

    • Shane

The thing i like about black women is that they are so eager to reinforce the negative stereotypes about themselves. Say blk women have bad attitudes and they respond by having bad attitudes. Make the claim that they are loud and disrespectful and they will respond to you in a loud/disrespectful tone. If you say they are angry many of them will actually get angry. I’m glad BW have such big mouths and out of control egos, because they can’t hide who they really are. Few and Fewer men are finding blk girls desirable became everyone can see what they really are. Everyone can see what trash many blk girls have become , that the are only good for c*m-catching and defecating b*****d children ( just like the days of slavery)

      • Alexis

Shane….I’m so sad that you feel that way about Black women. However, all your white brothers do not feel the same way you do. And, one day we Black women are going to get our eyes off our Black brothers and start accepting the invitations we get from your kind, the white male. Once again, we are rigid and stick to our guns when it comes to not dating outside our race. Yet, more and more Black women are, in fact, doing away with our stereotypes. Maybe if we do not have respect for our Black men, we need to try something new. They say insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Just, maybe, we might have respect for the hard-working, income making, family man of other races or at least accept invites from other races just to get to know them, because the invites are plenteous(?). Oh yeah, we can do a Tina Turner on Ike. How about that….?

  130. Miss T

I feel what all of you are saying. However, everyone is so critical and no one is offering any solutions. There’s no secret that the state of Black women, and especially young Black women are in crisis, but it seems that capitalizing off of this condition is all anyone cares about. Steve Harvey made a fortune off of the vulnerable state Black women are in claiming you have to think like a man but you have to act like a lady, what? That sounds like game. Preachers in church, capitalize on the vulnerability of Black women through fear that their only salvation is through their penises and her purse. Hill Harper wrote a book “Letters to a Young Sister”, got no real press. But it was an attempt at healing. Look at your daughters; look at who you are raising, look at who they are becoming. These girls are running around here in packs, beating up and jumping people. They got more boy in them than the boys and their mouths are vulgar. They have juvenile records an inch thick. Having s*x with any and everybody. Y’all know that ain’t right. Yes, the truth may hurt, but this is our future and this is sad.

  131. CASON360

In reading this article I must be honest D.L. Hughley really did not give a reason Black Women are Angry all the time. However I will say this Yes Black Women are angry so are Black Men. Both come from the same source Slavery, Racism/White Supremacy you see topic like this are ment to divive the Black Man and Woman. Black Women have been Raped. Used Children removed from their arms. Fed to Gators murder in front of them by the Slave Master. At the sametime yes they did protect Black Men. However Black Men also Protected Black Women many lost their lives in the course of Defending Black Women and their family. Black men were used for sport, physical labor, Raped yes Black men were Raped Beaten and separted from their Family! Both have suffered by the hands of the White Slave Master now we all know this the key is the main key is when are we going to wake up. We need one another reason Black Women are Angry because Black Women have lost the knowledge of self same and Black man They do not know who they are as a race of people they only know what they see on tv and that what they relate to. The question is when Black Men going to step up. At the End of the Day that is the true reason Black Women are Angry. When are Black Men going to set up and reclaim the Black Woman. This is a basic of my reason why Black Women are angry. Go into it will take more then a page to explain. I will leave like this when you exprience the level of Trama Black People have exprience and we never seek help from the trama our race has gone through and still going through today, you will have the anger you have in the community. If you have not heard of the Stockholm syndrome I suggest you look it up this could help you in your reason Black Women and Men are Angry! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

Man now I am going to add something postive to this! Black Woman and Man are the Back Bone to this country. When the Slave master and Wife were gone from the Home. It was the Black Woman who watched the Children, Cared for the home, Kept the home in order. It was the Black Woman who look after the Brother in the Black Panther Party, It was the Black Woman who Supported the Black Man this is of course Slavery, post Slavery and up to the 1980s. Black Women respresents Beauty all around the world. White Women now having b**t sugurey to have firm Behinds, It is White Women who are suntaning to get darker like Black Woman, It is White Women who are geting their Brests inlarged to compete with Black Woman. What you see on the Black Woman is natural it is White Women who are follow Black Women. Black Women have always Respreseted Beauty. Its the modern day Black Women who are following behind White Women to be like them. When Black Women go back into history and see the Great Black Women that came before them they will see How Beautiful the Black Woman truly is!

  135. Miss Hood

(I’m reading all that there lol)

…but have skimmed over it, and honestly this whole thread proved his point. Right or wrong, you have to be held accountable of your actions, and most African American women are not accountable for their actions. As with most men, but we’re not talking about the men, we’re talking about the Black woman. We give our own selves away into of perserving it. We have this need for an entitlement. If anything, look at the way we portray ourselves in everyday life, then look at how we are depicted upon the movies. If you don’t like the way we look, change it. But D.L. and people like him who think that way about us, just don’t say it because they have lips, its because it true and WE hate to hear any type of truth about us. We glorify the negatives but shun the positives.

Also, if it don’t apply to YOU directly don’t take it personal, but sooner or later, you have to step outside of yourself and really look at how you are being represented.

(and yes, that is my real last name)

  136. Miss T

Black women have been holding it down in the face of all types of atrocities. No, this does not apply to me personally and certainly not my daughter, but there is no way that this type of banter should go unchecked. I have yet to see a public forum where black women openly condemn and degrade Black men the way Black men and anyone else does. This is asinine. Black men are paid millions of dollars to call Black women Black b*****s, whores, hoes, hoochies, and any other derogatory name in the book. Somebody tell me where you see Black women degrading Black men and being sponsored to do so. If you listen to Tommy Sotomayor and the likes of him (a Herman Cain sympathizer) ALL (whether you are or not) Black women are the lowest forms of life in society including his mother. There is something pathological about that type of hatred. Black women are not angry, Black women are tired. They may be angry with the Black man within the sanctity of their relationship but I have yet to see public forums devoted to degrading the Black man, as there are with the condemnation of Black women. If there is, someone please let me know. A dialogue is a necessary evil, but the beginning of the healing process.

    • J

Sorry to say it but black women openly condemn black men every single day in public, online, in the news, printed media, movies, tv, and radio. What’s the code word? N****s ain’t s**t. Telling someone that they aren’t worth feces isn’t even as nice as condemnation, its degradation.

No other group of women does this to their men. Not one.

What I see here is an inability to own your faults. Sure black men mess up, but our women do too….but wait, you can’t tell them they are wrong though. Why is that? Maybe black men aren’t angry either, men get tired as well.

  137. Pat

Yes…black men and women are the product of slavery; however the worst offence committed against them was stripping away their cultures and support systems. There is a reason most black men don’t do church anymore except a few predatory pastors and minions of da dark side. Yet, it’s full of sistas supportin the dysfunctional outdated customs and ideas that have nothing to do with any authentic-real religion, including Christianity! Polygamy or a man with more than one wife was practiced by the prophets of God, yet if two of us try to raise a family with one man we’re shunned. But we’ll fornicate and scheme on someone else’s man and destroy that family and not stay thru the thick and thin to make it work. We don’t understand family! Nobody is going to treat the black Woman like she has been created to be but her natural soulmate who reflects her father and family. You can run but you can’t hide. Conversely, the black man is alien to himself…enemy to self! Do we need to talk about black woman anger? Ain’t a d**n thing funny…COMICS…we need to solve black male/female family relationships/divorces before our kids turn”GAY” and we’re absorb by more serious folk like Mormons who ain’t afraid to share and work together for their future.

  138. Wakeup

    @J

You want to unfairly blame black women, what about the black men who abandon their family. Why are you foolishly ignoring that.

  139. mdottwo

Dear Black People, black comedians have been used to deliver a specific component of media propaganda that has done more to harm the image of African Americans in general, and to promote misogyny towards black women than any other group of black men.

First, have you ever heard any comedian from any other ethnic group say negatives things about the women from his/her indigenous group? Have you ever heard a Jewish comedian refer to Jewish women as ugly? Have you ever heard an Italian comedian call Italian women tacky? No not in my long years of imbibing American media have I heard any other group of men routinely, consistently deride, degrade, and defame the women of their own ethnicity, like the black comedian.

It started with J.J. on “Good Times” calling his character sister Thelma in the series “ugly.” Then came Red Foxx who not only introduced the word “n****h” to American television audiences, but also made a TV career out of calling his fellow cast character, Aunt Esther “ugly.” All brought to us by way of the manipulative white producer.

Then came Flip Wilson in drag, presenting his “the more man than woman” character Geraldine. Which was the beginning of a long list of black male actors in drag feminizing the image of black men and simultaneously stripping black women of their God-given femininity: Jamie Foxx(Wanda), Martin Lawrence(Shenehneh & Big Momma), the Wayan Brothers(Venus & Serena),Eddie Murphy(Raspushia), Wesley Snipes(Noxema Jackson),Miguel Nunez(Juwanna Mann) and NBA star Larry Johnson’s “Grandmama”, and a long list of others, including Tyler Perry’s Madea.
Contemplate the collective disrespect, and the cumulative affects of this on-going curriculum. Analyze the disgraceful images, and the awful messages about black women that not only black women have been forced to endure, but also think about the affects this media slander has had on the image of black men and African American culture to the entire world.

When they are not dressed in drag, black comedians have polluted our cultural landscape with some of the most stinging and dehumanizing jokes told to the world about black women’s character, honor and value- “The Kings of Comedy” being chief among them. However, it was a joke that I saw on BET, delivered by Rickey Smiley about a black woman defecating in public that made me involuntarily cry. It was so debasing, so degrading that I swore from that moment on, I would never give black comedians a pass. For out of the mouthes of our own men, the world deems black women to be worthless. Their in-house comedy career club demands the right to defame black women and our culture in the pursuit of their so-called careers. But not all of us are willing to allow them to throw our history and our cultural reputation as a people under the bus. Just before Bernie Mack died, he was interrupted during his routine and castigated by a courageous black man in the audience at a fundraiser in Chicago, for telling jokes that projected black women to be whores.

Black America, 99.9% of the time, black comedians are not the class valedictorian. They are generally the class clown. These people should not be given free reign to destroy the image of black women in the presence of our children, or before the eyes of the world. They are incapable of monitoring themselves. I have never seen or heard any show business personality publically decry the horrible images of black women created by white producers or those carried out by black comedians. We as a people have to put our history and cultural pride ahead of these over-paid class clowns. They believe because they make large sums of money and stand before cameras, that they should set the standard for Black America’s image to the world. D.L. Hughley, and every other black comedian who stands before audiences, should be put on notice – We Shall Not Put Up With Your Culture-Killing Antics Anymore! You can make comedy without defaming the people from which you come. Other ethnic comedians do it. You shall simply have to learn to truly respect the people and the culture from which you hail. And if the lesson is to hard for you to inculcate, we will make you pay.

    • As I have written in several blogs on this subject, as well as hosted a radio program on the subject of Black Women on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hearnoevil, I do feel the need to respond here.

D.L. Hughly, like most comics tend to smile behind pain. He spent most of his career in a miserable relationship with women because he probably hates his mother. He uses platforms like these to gain attention when he needs a paycheck, and of course the most easiest topic is women from his culture. Let’s be clear, I do not think he should get a platform or be quoted until he does an interview that says All White Women are easy, submissive and hoes. That would get him blackballed. But of course no one every stands up for Black women but white men or strong minded black women. We are not all monolithic, we all come from different neighborhoods, families, tribes, and situations, yet we all get lumped into the same category. And you know what? Black women should be angry. They should be p****d that no one protects them, gives them credit for being the role models that all women look up to and mimic. They should be p****d off. Men have abandoned them starting with their fathers, their teachers, their husbands, lovers and bosses. This is going to hurt some men, but you have done women a lot of injustice. I question D.L’s sexuality also. He always tended to mimic women and portrayed them in a neck twisting fashion. Get a man DL, if that is what you want. I do not believe you should promote angry women. Women have been holding up your sorry b**t for years, have been the backbone that hold black and white families together. And as I speak of in my poem, “Women Kissed by the Sun”, we are a gift molded from the Earth.

    • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POST!!!!! I’ve been trying to put my two bits in about these c**n CLOWNS who are doing the White/man/woman’s job to denigrate us. Those fools don’t have a clue!!

Now let us deal with this “immigrant” Zoe Saladna who is in Blacface for the White folk demeaning us. She is the same as that Stepin N Fetchin immigrant who set us back a hundred years for Black men.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why a “native” Black man is not the first Black President of the United States (Oboma is)? Have you ever stopped to wonder why it is not a “native” Black man who wasn’t the first Black Attorey General of the U.S. (Eric Holder- Barbados is). Have you ever stopped to ask why the first “Joint Chiefts of Staff of the Military was not a “native” Black American (Colin Powers- Jamician)? Our native Black American males are SICK!! At a certain point duing the Civil Rights movement, the American Black males went chasing after “the White Lady”and lost their focus. They became h**l bent on destroying themselves!! Notice how they will blame Black women for all of their problems beause they are hoping the White man will reward them with a White lady, so when they disrespect their own kind. They are so pathetic, and everyone except themselves see what’s going on.

As far as you Black women are concerned, do not teach your daughters to acquiswnce to this Black male foolishness that they have to SUBMIT o their foolishness to have a man in thieir lives. I’ve witnessed, personally, Black women who have found other “non-Black males.” I’ve aso witnessed other non-Black females who have gotten a sample of native Black males–what we complained about–they too complain about. These Black males want to continue to manipulate us—don’t be fooled. Let them go to White women and othe women. It will benifit us Black women!!!!

Here’s the thing about women. Black, white, yellow or green.

You think they fall in love with you for who you are? Wrong! They fall in love with you for the person into whom they think they can mould you, and the minute they get their fingers entwined in your hair, they make a start on the conversion process.

Then when you don’t turn out like they want, they get mad at you as though it’s entirely your fault.

They do also of course, have a flawed logic processing facility. What man has not encountered the following scenario?
You kiss her goodbye as you leave for work. Everything is sweet and rosy. You labour all day at whatever your calling, and return home looking fowards to a relaxing evening with your loving spouse. As soon as you get in the door you notice it’s chilly, and it’s not the aircon that’s too high. “Hi Honey I’m home” gets no response. You smile at her and receive a cool, haughty stare. You say “What’s wrong honey?” and she spits out “Nothing’s wrong”. You’re stumped. After an embarrassing silence she adds “And if you don’t know I’m not going to tell you!”

    So go figure…

    .

D.L Hughley all I can do is shake my head and also others that agree on it. We are living in a world that stuck in high rates of black on black crimes, black race filling up the prison systems, black families; single parents homes, and still I hear black men disgracing the black woman. This was the white mans plan then and this is the white mans plan presently, and he is still winning. He’s the best at his game. SMH

Until we all realize what we are worth and how our brothers and sister need to get back on track, we were at one time Kings and Queens (FACT) and we still are. We have to get back there again. To add to everything as a race we got against us, that not even our own race can stand up for each other. I only wonder the things they are laughing at regarding us. No matter how dumb as a people we have become, I can not give up on my people, on my own, part of me, my mother, my father. Things like this, brother and sisters, we will never progress. Beyond baffling to me. sigh

Hey Ladies (Black Women)….How about we let go of our stereotypes, get our eyes off the Black brothers and start dating outside our race. At least, we can accept the invites we receive to get to know other races of men. I know it is a slow trend, but let’s up the ante and make it happen…Some of our sisters have already made that move….I will if you will…LOL

  147. IT’S FUNNY HOW BLACK FEMALES CLAIMED TO LOVE HIM SO MUCH IN THE PAST, BUT NOW SEE HIS AS A JOKE BECAUSE HE REVEALED HIS FEELINGS TOWARDS THEM. LOL HE DIDN’T LIE!

  148. IT GOES TWO WAYS D ….. PERHAPS IT’S THE LACK OF RESPECT YOU NEVER GIVE

Hughley, what about your mama and Grandma?

  152. I think, if Black/African American women are angry, they are supposed to be. They are showing that they are more aware of the things that are going on than the men… All of us, African American, should be angry so our children can be recognized as equal, if that is what we want… I remember, as a kid, my father told me that there was nothing for a Black man to smile about… And today that statement is still true!!! I am not comfortable with our standing in the World.. We are not being given any respect even though we took the White boys out of the European caves while they were eating each other and thought them, civilization!!!!

  153. BigBlackGuy

Black females are undesirable from a dating and marrying standpoint. For me, this has nothing to do with looks because I’m very much attracted to beautiful, sweet brown chocolate, classy black women more than any other ethnicity of women. But as soon as most of them open their mouths, I’m turned off. Most normal men want soft, feminine, soft spoken women, not hard, angry, strong women. Black women claim they have to be strong because of no-good men in their lives. This is BS. Black girls are being taught this strong, independent black women non-sense from the get-go. These girls grow up to be unapproachable as women, because everyone is scared of them. Yet black women think this is cute. It’s not cute!, it’s disgusting.

  154. Forward Movement

@BigBlackGuy,just to be clear, you are saying that far too many black women have lost that “grace”, that soft disposition and are overcompensating for being single by taking on that “male” role that they were never intended to have. I may have to agree with you on some level on that. That whole gender argument, and the breakdown of the family. I think too many black women have lost how to communicate effectively when we don’t like something. We put up with alot of negative behaviours and build these huge walls. Depending how heavy the baggage is, is how tall the walls go up.
@Neville T Are you kidding me? Have you not seen the incredible progress that African Americans have made in the last four decades?? I think we need to accept more responsibility for not having higher goals, or better support systems for our children in reaching their goals.
@Jetyu Pass that beautiful message on! Black women are BEAUTIFUL and need to hear it. If you love yourself you will then be able to love your partner just as much
@Shane Wow! FYI There are ghettos in EVERY community. Moving on…lol(Read:you are a PRODUCT of your environment)You are right about the choices though.
@Joyce Pop – I am high fiving you. We as black women are RESPONSIBLE for the majority of the choices(outcomes) we make, from the education we choose to continue, to the man we date and lay with. It is a hard pill to swallow to admit that maybe we might have went about things the wrong way. But it is life, and it is happening now.
D.L. is a straight shooter and was speaking from what he understood. In his reality that may be the case that black women are super angry. But I don’t think the “whole” generalization of black women is correct. But why is everyone so up in arms?! (that question was almost rhetorical) I forgot this blog is big on fueling constant crisis.

  155. Forward Movement

You know what I still love black men period! I am a proud black woman and I think black women are gorgeous and HILARIOUS! You have a few knuckleheads, but you find them in every bunch. And if I feel like wearing my weave I d**n well will(lol)and if I feel like getting my ‘fro on I d**n well will. Here’s the secret to understanding Black Women – if you are nice to me I will be nice to you.
    ;D

  156. Somebody's Mother

I’m neither angry or bitter; life is simply too short for that. However, I have a question: What happened BEFORE we were deemed angry and bitter? From what I’ve witnessed over the last 46 years there seems to be a few very valid reasons. Relationships are complicated under the best of circumstances; why in the world would I or anyone else, deliberately r****d the process by limiting options? Ladies and Gentlemen, share your time with your favorite people. The Relationship Police aren’t going to be pleased with anything you do that produces happiness.

  157. Oracle

I have to agree with some of the comments regarding comedians and I’m going to add rap artists from the nineties who undoubtedly degraded and expressed nothing but hatred for black women. Tupac Shakur made a song about black women being mistreated, “You Are Appreciated” and “Dear Momma”. He tried to restore appreciation and respect to black women before he died. I have read a lot of angry black men and women disrespect each other on this blog. Black women are being punished for some reason we have not been able to figure out. Black men hate her by how they treat her and give her children just to leave her to raise them by herself. He pretends to love her but he does not. I heard some say, let them go to other races. I don’t know, but maybe they should go to other races. Some of them seem to have done very bad by the black woman, by causing her pain and suffering. Why is this? Come on black man, why are you really angry?

Yes, I have made mistakes and I am the only one responsible for making bad choices. I don’t beat myself up. But I have forgiven myself and moved on. Happiness is real and that’s what I expect from my precious life! I put my black man out because he fooled me, he gave me three children and never planned on working or taking care of us. So I put him out. Do I hate him? No, I realize that I am having a life experience of being in a difficult situation and I’m tested to see how I’m going to make the best of this situation. I will see how strong and powerful I really am when my life and my children’s life change for the better. It is a difficult, scary and uncomfortable situation, but there are solutions. I see my life changing for the better everyday. It is all in how you look at something. I see this as a learning experience and realize that my soul needed this experience so it could evolve.

Through all the negative experiences I have had with black men, I did not pass it down to my children. I have five children and two of them are black males 21 and 18. They are not hurting black women and have not hurt one single black woman or any other woman for that matter. I consider myself a healthy, positive, happy and strong black woman for the fact that my sons are not using and abusing women and have no negative perception of black women or any woman. They question why black women do not like nice black men and only go for the thugs and dogs. I cannot answer this as a black women because I always avoided the dogs and thugs and I hated comedians who degraded black women! Or at least I thought I did. I believe my problem has been a lack of knowledge, being raised by mentally ill single mother, and unusual sub-culture belief system. My children love being around me, they admire me and think of me as mysterious. My friends and neighbors love me and tell me I exude love, peace and radiance. Now that’s unusual for a black woman. This is white people talking!:)

Although black women are being beat up by everyone: black men, black women, white racist American society and media, and other groups, and herself it’s no wonder she is ANGRY! I personally do not feed into the c**p, because I define myself for myself. I decide what kind of person I’m going to be and what kind of people I will attract and what kinds of experiences I will have. My experience with my children’s father actually propelled me to do this. Maybe this is time for black women to look inside themselves and truly start to love and appreciate their lives and change the way they think. Define who they are and embrace and develop their personalities. Black women need to stop looking outside themselves because the christian god is not helping them right now, no more than the black man is. Ask yourself, what do you serve and why? Is it really working for you? I know this sounds strange, but stop serving HIM and start serving yourselves by feeding your souls positive and loving truths about yourselves. Stop listening to lies about you and stop living the lies. Don’t let society tell you who you are, but you tell society who you are! You are gentle, kind and noble. Develop strong character and discover your gifts. Become open minded and stop being afraid to study spiritual sciences that can help you uncover your personality traits that can teach you who you are. That can bring you out of the collective stupor that has dragged you down unmercifully, plunging you into h**l, to confront the challenges of reality and individualism. Most importantly, love yourself first and foremost with all your heart. Be gentle, loving and patient with yourself. Catch yourself being mean and stop it immediately and remember to be kind to yourself. Tell yourself kind and sweet things hundreds of times everyday through emails, textmessages, write it down everyday. Develop a habit of doing this and you will see my dear black women, your environment will begin to change! The anger you feel will slowly drift away and you will feel empowered and responsible. If you don’t love yourself, no one else will. Honor your lives and never hate your life no matter what has happened to you! They are only experiences, they are not you! You can heal your life black women, don’t be delusional and always be THANKFUL. When you begin to love yourself the WORLD will kneel before you–that includes BLACK MEN! Please black women, know yourself!

I don’t dadte black women because simply I have had nothing but stress with it. You are constantly being put down. You can be a successful slef made black man, and a black woman will still say, “n***a you aint s**t!You a mommas boy!” I swear it’s true that they will do everything to never make you feel like a man. They have to have THE power.

DL is right.Either you are in charge or the women is in charge. The American black woman is not looking for equality, she is looking to take over.We have to be intellectually honest.Ironically Michelle Martin is that sneaky black feminist that causes so much chaos in the black community. She will try to take over, but when you call her on it,she will play the poor put upon and down trotten black woman. They are bipolar at best. They want to be a man’s equal but want men to pay for their food, open doors and pay them alimony in case of divorce.

DL has never talked to me so how can he speak of every black woman. Who cares what these ignorant black men say about black women? As long as God loves me I’m okay because He will give me what I want. their perception of black women don’t matter. He needs to look in the mirror at himself because he doesn’t look nor sound too good to me.
