Tyra Banks Motivates Young Girls with the “Flawsome Ball” in New York City

One of the things that many little girls are challenged to overcome are unrealistic expectations about their body image.  They see women in magazines who look perfect, and have intense pressure to meet these expectations.  This can lead to unhealthy conditions, such as anorexia or low self-esteem.

Well, leave it to Tyra Banks to try to come up with a solution.  Tyra is going to host an event dubbed the “Flawsome Ball” to benefit the New York City girl’s club.  The term “Flawsome” is a mix between the words “awesome” and “flaws” to help little girls to realize that you don’t have to be perfect to be an awesome diva that receives love and respect from everyone.

The rapper Drake is going to perform at the event, and the proceeds are going to support the Tzone at the Lower Eastside Girl’s Club.  The Tzone was created in honor or Tyra and is a wing that she helps to support by creating activities and opportunities for young girls to get the support, mentorship and guidance that they need.

Banks created the Tzone in 1999, but now it’s going to have a permanent physical residence right there in New York City.  The “Flawsome Ball” is set to happen on October 18. We’re sure it’s going to be totally “flawsome.”
