The Bronner Brothers have been holding their International Hair Show every year for the last six decades.  The company is having their next major event from August 4 – 7th at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in Atlanta, GA.

The show will feature over 300 exhibitors and 500 distributors showcasing their products over a four day period.  The show is a traffic stopper in Atlanta, and most residents in the area are familiar with the event.

“For over six decades the Bronner Bros. International Hair Show has represented the pinnacle of African-American culture and its global influence on beauty and style,” said Bernard Bronner, President, Bronner Bros., Inc. “Once again, we are excited to have a number of iconic brands partner with us to offer an experience that’s unsurpassed in the industry.”

The show will also consist of a comedy show on Saturday August 4 and church service on Sunday.  Various corporations have lined up to sponsor the event, and will feature sessions on everything from physical health to hair care solutions.

Bronner Brothers a privately-held company headquartered in Marietta, GA.   It was founded in 1947 by Nathaniel H. Bronner, Sr. and his brother Arthur Bronner, Sr.   The hair care industry has been under tremendous scrutiny various reasons, both social and financial. The use of artificial chemicals by millions of black women has been linked to long-term health problems, such as fibroids.  Also, there is tremendous criticism of the fact that African Americans contribute billions to the industry, but much of it is controlled by people who are not African American.

Besides the black church, the black hair industry is one of the economic powerhouses of black America.  We should find ways to keep that money in our community.
