Ann Coulter On Single Mothers: “Single Women Look To The Government To Be Their Husbands”
Ann Coulter took to the “Fox & Friends” show on Sunday night to discuss the female vote. When asked why she believes Republican candidates don’t acquire a female majority vote, Coulter explained that the Democratic candidates attract women with the variety of services they offer. “It’s not the women’s vote generically, it is the single women’s vote. And that is because single women look to the government to be their husbands and give them, you know, prenatal care, and preschool care, and kindergarten care, and school lunches. These are not programs designed to appeal to Bruce Willis,” she said.
Coulter, who isn’t shy of starting controversy, may have some accuracy in her remark, as President Obama is leading Romney with the female vote by 50-42 percent, according to the latest Gallup pole. Then again, many assume that women, especially black women, are enamored by the President’s polished “family man” image as opposed to his policies as it relates to women.
Coulter was highly criticized in 2007 for a comment she made at the Conservative Political Action Conference about then-presidential candidate John Edwards. “I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I’m – so, kind of at an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards, so I think I’ll just conclude here and take your questions,” she commented.
