You all remember Halle Berry breaking down like a little girl when she won the Best Actress award at the Oscars. Well, Halle also showed that she has a sense of humor by appearing at the Razzies after being nominated for Worst Actress for her appearance in Cat Woman back in 2005. We saw the film and thought it was pretty good, but apparently people can be up and down in their opinions of Hollywood starlets. Also, she didn’t do a disgusting s*x scene with Billy Bob Thornton, so that may have kept them from being able to see all of Halle’s “talents.”
Another thing we don’t quite understand is how someone can be the best actress in the world one year, and then selected as the worst actress just three years later. Maybe that shows just how stupid these Hollywood critics actually are.
Some are saying that Halle actually did a pretty good job as Cat Woman, and that she was even better than the woman selected to play the role in the most recent Batman Film. But there are surely some loyalists who don’t think a black woman should have that role.
In her Razzie speech, Halle thanks Warner Brothers for putting her in a “piece of sh*t, God aweful movie.” We wonder how that worked out for her when it came to getting more opportunities from the company. Check out Halle’s speech, it’s actually pretty funny.
No Actor or Actress has be be in a Sh*t movie, if they choose not to. So if she did it for the money, that was her choice. Set the record correct, no one is forced to make a fool out of themselves in these films, they have an opportunity to read the script first and when the film is not in their best interest, they simply don’t accept the part.
All Warner Brothers cares about is the bottom line.
the best catwoman ever was Eartha Kitt–a black women, and for sure, Halle Berry (despite her acting prowess) did not bring the role to life in the way that Kitt, an incredible actress did–but then again Berry’s best talents have yet to receive a an acting role that is worthy of her brilliance.
Beg to differ, she played Dorothy Dandrich and she should have gotten an Oscar or at least a nomination for her role as a leading actress.
Halle Berry has not fullfilled her acting abilities and I wonder why she plays with actors like Billy Bob Thornton. They are beneath her, but she seemed to get an award with Billy Bob Thornton in Monster’s Ball. The movie was monsterous and should not have gotten any awards.
I say her worst movie ever to date was “Monster Ball” s******g that disgusting saltine! Degrading herself and all Black Women afer 400 years of enslavement and rape of black women/people by saltines.
I would gladly give that degrading Oscar right back if I were her!
Absolutely! She should have known better! She and Denzel Washington played terrible roles of which they were awarded best actress and best actor the same year. Makes you wonder. At least Washington acted dignified like he knew what they were doing. This is the actor who transformed himself into Malcolm X and not a peep out of them. I was nauseated at Hallie Berry’s weeping after her betrayal.
Denzel was nominated for an Oscar for his work in Malcolm X, as well as for one of his early roles as Steve Biko in Cry Freedom. I think that the academy was surprised at Denzel’s range from always playing the noble hero to playing a corrupt cop in Training Day. One of Denzel’s requirements for taking the role was that his character be killed at the end.
Halle Berry, Beyonce, etc. are all for appearance ONLY! They are horrible actresses, singers, etc.
WHAT????? YOU’RE A HATER AND YOU’RE JEALOUS!!!!
I second your reply!!! HATER IN THE HOUSE!!!
You must be suffering with a jealousy problem. People are not allowing these females to make millions if they are horrible. Take another look under different circumstances and see if these females are not worth some of the money they make.
Beyonce can sing her acting I agree needs some work but Hallie is a veriy talented actress both of these women are beautiful and I just think that we need to give them credit for that…
She took the role for the $$$.
She knew exactly what the movie and role was about and obviously didn’t
care, so just why are you getting on Warner Brothers case, sorry I don’t understand why this is a issue!
Worst Movie……..did anyone see B.A.P.S? Need I say More?
GARBAGE!!!!! Now that’s what you call degrading!
When these movie companies disrespect our Black actors and they continue to takes us for granted, then we need to stop supporting their movies and stay home. Blacks purchasing their tickets make up a hugh dollar amount in their profits. No respect, no purchasing, no respect no profits.
i AGREE WITH EARLIER COMMENT IAM SURE SHE READ THE PART AND KNOW ONE FORCED HER TO SIGN CONTRACT,LET ME KEEP IT 100 SHE LOVE THEM CRACKERS SO MUCH NOW THE SHOWING HER HOW MUCH THEY LOVE HER!hALLE PICK THE SIDE OF THE FENCE YOU GETTIN ON AND LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU THAT ONCE THEY USE AND ABUSE YOU THEY PUT YOU OUT WITH THE TRASH!
You know what if she is not grown up enough to select good roles too bad forher. if she shetake the part that she believed is beneath her, then whose fault is it?. Look at it this way she is still laughing to the bank.
I think Halle Berry is a GREAT actress, and Cat Woman was one of the Best I remember. The most degrading thus far was Monsters Ball, which goes to show these critics aren’t really looking to reward black people for talent. In order for a black actor to get such an award he has to play a dehumanizing character and give up his integrity. Another example is Denzel Washington who received the award for Training Day,which wasn’t a good film at all to me, but Malcom X was overlooked, and Malcom X was not only a Great movie, but a good documentary.
Halle chose to be in a flick and chose the role after reading the script. Why blame Warner or the critics? I didn’t think the movie was too bad actually but her role could have been better. I think they should have chosen the female actress who played Craig’s girlfriend in Friday. I always forget her name.
I thought she was excellent in Cat Woman!
She is a wonderful actress…
Oh yeah and she knew the only way to get a statue was to let someone from the opposite s*x bang her out on film. She didn’t get anything for messing with Eddie Murphy in Boomerang so she wanted to make it happen. She also shared her b*****s with us in Swordfish for extra money. Please, once again, do not blame Hollywood, Halle chooses to disgrace herself for success. She is bugged out anyways.
I meant opposite race. lol
I think Halle’s most memorable role was as the first black Bond Girl in “Die Another Day.” I think her role (although based on true story) as Dorothy Dandrich was not an “empowering” role the way her Bond roll was.
Since when did TRUTH become the buz word for hate? It’s not hate
to speak the truth. Now, lets not forget it was Halley (in the picture)
making whoppee with a racist, who was taught to hate black people
by his father, who also said he had a few black….in his time.
What the heck was the significants of this picture that she should
have been given an award for. What did she do in the picture that
was that mind blowing, because frankly I am stumped. Hollywood made
a mockery of this beautiful black women and it seems that most of us
missed it. People say she should not have excepted the award.. WRONG.
She should not have excepted the d**n picture like Angela Basset did.
I believe it is much harder to play the role of a disgusting character than to play a hero or the nice girl next door. Some of these comments reflect the deep dissatisfaction within the black community which can never be corrected by others, black or white. Incidentally, Eartha Kittt deserted this country and lived in France most of her life. I don’t blame her for that any more than I blame Halle or Denzel for making a challenging movie.
Get it correct JOHN HILL….Ms Eartha Kitt did not DESERT ‘this
country.’ The white media which helps run this country deserted
her!
After her run in with Lady Byrd Johnson…The white media began
to give her the blues…This lady (Ms Kitt) was “white balled,”
in Hollywood /in other venues.
Get the F A C T S folks.
