Enquirer Report: Oprah No Longer in Control at OWN

By  |

A report coming from the National Enquirer is claiming that Oprah Winfrey is no longer the woman in charge at the network bearing her name.  Sources are saying that Discovery Communications, the company that backed her financially, decided to support a motion that would strip her of her power.

“Oprah’s situation is equivalent to Donald Trump telling one of his ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ contestants: ‘You’re fired!’” according to an insider.

The report is that Oprah will remain CEO of the company, but not with any significant power.  The move, if it was made, was likely due to the disastrous financial losses the network experienced during its first few months on the air.

“They now realize that she was too inexperienced to run the network,” said the insider. “So she was stripped of her power. She’s no longer in a position to make executive decisions or hire staff without consulting top Discovery executives first.”

The Enquirer is claiming that Oprah is taking the fall of the network very hard and was reduced to tears upon the announcement that her power was being taken from her.

Failure happens to the best of us…it can be a very humbling experience…Oprah is still amazing, she must’ve been way too far out of her element.

Like Gail said, failure happens to the best of us. We still Love Lady O and know she is a very powerful woman. No matter who you are and what profession you’re in. Keep this in mind, the ones with all the money is in control of our world. If all possible, do not use their money to back you in everything you want to have much control of. They will still get you through your taxes. If you don’t know who the main team is, read your history where and who control the money of our world…Peace to Oprah and the Own team!

We can see the shift in viewing for the televsion industry. The competitive nature to garner profit with quality programming quickly leads us to believe if thier is no hope. To create for great tv without trash is the billion dollar question. How about going into uncharted territories and do a news magazine that shows a documentary style of investigation. Tell the whole story no matter where it lands. Thai sex trade, Corrupt border patrol, ie. Maybe a consumer enviromental watch linked to all three majar viral web services. We must show the truthful side of politics no matter what party afilliation. The unconventional can become normative if it’s done “smoothly”. Why not Micheal Moore? Why not Rush Limbaugh? The synicisim of the two lies an objective audience waiting to aurgue. Why not Kat Williams? Why not Dave Chappelle. Stack the cards in your favor. And Use the race card for those uppity hollywood types to get on your network,Reggie

Its surprising to me how quickly ppl will believe anything printed by a tabloid, which delights in presenting all ppl, but especially our ppl, in the worst light possible. I’ll wait to hear it fr a legitimate source first. Not from a source that profits from & encourages others demise.

Oprah is a amazing woman after listening to her speak at my daughter graduation for Spelman college the gift of her speech and thoughts were inspiring, it’s known when people get to level of success like Oprah you will have more people out to hurt you then to take care of you at times. We all learn from our success and our shortcomings. This is a time for us to pray for Oprah and continue to wish success for the woman.

It seems that my earlier comments were heavily edited re The Natl Enquirer’s rptg on Oprah’s network! Ive noticed that when u write something that speaks against the tabloids rptg of an issue, ur comments r either edited heavily to sanitize its content or removed altogether. Yet these same papers freely print all kinds of slander & discrepancies to discredit others routinely w/o challenge.

Oprah is the one true example of a person with personal staying Power. Watch and see what the results will bring forth in the coming weeks, months of 2012. This is truly another example of how people with Power always have an extra bag full of surprises for any source — not working in their behalf ………….
We are in your space Oprah, supporting your every directive and changes….Peace is yours.

The only thing that beats a failure is not trying. Maybe she will do something on a smaller scale or try something else. The concept was good but TV viewers want somethig else. People want to sit in front of the TV and be entertained by reality shows. They are not interested in learning more about themselves or others.
